Saltburn | I loved him, but was I in love with him?

A lot of things happened to get me interested in even seeing this movie, from the beginning by having Barry Keoghan I already wanted to see it, but that wasn't enough to get me to see it anytime soon. It wasn't until I saw a reel on youtube showing how Barry's character was interested in Jacob Elordi's character that it really provoked me into seeing the movie, because if it had been for the synopses of the movie that are everywhere, I would have never seen it, really, what an anticlimactic synopsis, it completely kills the vibe of the movie.

Elliot, starring Barry Keoghan, is a new student at Oxford, and seemingly from one day to the next, he gets sucked into the life of Felix, played by Jacob Elordi, who invites Elliot to spend the summer of 2007 with him at Saltburn, his family's home, where they will experience a summer they will never forget in their lives. See that? It's horrible, not a nice synopsis at all, at least for me, and I can't give you a synopsis in my style because it would be full of delusions, so no, I'll leave you with that one.

Muchas cosas sucedieron para que me interesara siquiera por ver esta película, desde un principio por tener a Barry Keoghan ya quería verla, pero eso no era suficiente para hacer que la viera pronto. No fue hasta que vi un reel en youtube que mostraba cómo el personaje de Barry estaba interesado en el personaje de Jacob Elordi que me provocó de verdad en ver la película, porque si hubiera sido por las sinopsis de la película que se encuentran en todos lados, jamás la hubiera visto, de verdad, qué sinopsis tan anticlimáticas, matan por completo las vibras de la película.

Elliot, protagonizado por Barry Keoghan, es un nuevo estudiante en Oxford, y al parecer, de un día para otro, se ve sumerjido en la vida de Felix, interpretado por Jacob Elordi, quien invita a Elliot a pasar el verano de 2007 con él en Saltburn, la casa de su familia, donde vivirán un verano que nunca van a olvidar en sus vidas. ¿Ven eso? Es horrible, una sinopsis para nada agradable, al menos para mí, y no les puedo hacer una sinopsos a mi estilo porque estaría llena de delirios, así que no, los dejo con esa.

This is one of those strange movies where all the characters had the best possible actor to play them, that is, Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Archie Madekwe, and Alison Oliver, plus there was also Carey Mulligan, that is, a first class cast. My only complaint is that I would have liked to see more of Carey, but the time she was there was perfect. This is one of those casts where I can't imagine anyone else playing the characters, they were perfect, beyond perfect, and that just makes the movie better than it already is.

Barry was my favorite of all, fuck, I absolutely loved him. I already pretty much knew the reality of his character and everything he was going to end up doing, so I wasn't surprised at any point, but none of that made my enjoyment any less, because if there's one thing I love is watching a movie or series where I know what's going to happen, that only heightens my excitement, because it's one thing to know what's going to happen, and quite another to see all the situations and how they weave together, creating a much more enriched painting than expected.

Esta es una de esas películas extrañas donde todos los personajes tuvieron al mejor actor posible para interpretarlo, O sea, Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Archie Madekwe, y Alison Oliver, además de que también estuvo Carey Mulligan, o sea, un reparto de primera. Mi única queja es que hubiera querido ver más a Carey, pero el tiempo que estuvo fue perfecto. Este es uno de esos repartos donde no puedo imaginar a nadie más interpretando los personajes, fueron perfectos, más que perfectos, y eso solo hace que la película sea mejor de lo que ya es.

Barry fue mi favorito de todos, joder, lo amé por completo. Ya sabía más o menos la realidad de su personaje y de todo lo que iba a terminar haciendo, así que no me sorprendí en ningún momento, pero nada de eso hizo que mi disfrute fuera menos, porque si algo que amo es ver una película o serie donde sé qué es lo que va a pasar, eso solo hace que aumente mi emoción, porque uno cosa es saber lo que va a pasar, y otra muy diferente es ver todas las situaciones y cómo estas se entralazan entre sí, creando una pintura mucho más enriquecida de lo que se esperaba.

This movie is listed as a comedy, as a drama, and as a thriller, and if it were up to me, all the marketing for the movie would have been about the thriller, which would skew a lot of how the movie would be viewed, but that was my favorite part, I didn't know it was a thriller, or that it had a small suspense part, but I knew from the beginning that there was something very wrong with Elliot, the image of traumatized perfect child who doesn't break a plate was something I never accepted, plus it was very easy to overlook.

From the beginning with Elliot's short monologue about his relationship with Feliz we already knew that at least, Elliot was obsessed with Felix, he adored him, he loved him, but something felt out of place, and that's why we have to watch the whole movie to understand the reason behind all Elliot's actions and everything that happens, because nothing is what it seems, and even if we have the suspicion, we still need them to confirm us that everything we believe is true, and they will, they will tell us yes, and that moment will be the best of our lives.

Esta película está catalogada como una comedia, como un drama, y como un thriller, y si por mi fuera, todo el marketing de la película hubiera sido sobre el thriller, cosa que sesgaría mucho cómo se vería la película, pero es que esa fue mi parte favorita, yo no sabía que era un thriller, o que tenía una pequeña parte de suspenso, pero yo sabía desde un principio que había algo muy malo con Elliot, la iamgen de niño perfecto traumado que no rompe un plato era algo que nunca acepté, además de que era muy fácil de pasar por alto.

Desde un principio con el corto monólogo de Elliot sobre su relación con Feliz ya sabíamos que por lo menos, Elliot estaba obseionado con Felix, lo adoraba, lo amaba, pero algo se sentía fuera de lugar, y es por eso que tenemos que ver la película completa para entender la razón detrás de todas las acciones de Elliot y de todo lo que sucede, porque nada es lo que parece, y aunque tengamos la sospecha, aún así necesitamos que nos confirmen que todo lo que creemos es cierto, y lo harán, nos dirán que sí, y ese momento será el mejor de nuestras vidas.

I already said everything I had to say, moreover, everything I could say, because if I say what I want to say, it would be about many scenes that make us question the mental health of the people involved in this movie, I enjoyed as never all those weird scenes they show us, but still, they worry, and that makes it add a little spice to everything, I don't know what I'm saying anymore, I'm going to leave this until here before I get a migraine again, I already have a dull mind, I need new glasses urgently.

Here is the trailer, a perfect trailer, it doesn't show more than it should, it generates enough interest with the little it shows, it leaves us wanting more, and it doesn't show any of the soul of the movie at all, which is rare, because very few times interest is generated in movies when the trailers don't show the intense moments, and believe me, there are no intense moments here, because the real ones will leave you in shock at least.

Ya dije todo lo que tenía que decir, además, todo lo que podía decir, porque si digo lo que quiero decir, sería sobre muchas escenas que nos hacen cuestionar la salud mental de la gente involucrada en esta película, disfruté como nunca todas esas escenas raras que nos muestran, pero igual, preocupan, y eso hace que se le agregue un poco de picante a todo, ya no sé lo que estoy diciendo, voy a dejar esto hasta aquí antes de que tenga migraña de nuevo, ya tengo la mente embotada, necesito lentes nuevos con urgencia.

Aquí les dejo el trailer, un trailer perfecto, pues no muestra más de lo que debería, genera el suficiente interés con lo poco que muestra, nos deja con ganas de más, y no muestra en absoluto nada del alma de la película, cosa rara, porque muy pocas veces se genera interés en películas cuando los trailers no muestran los momentos intensos, y creánme, no hay ninguno momento intenso aquí, porque los verdaderos los dejaran en shock como mínimo.
