A story where vampires, cyborgs and the Yakuza are enemies? - I have it for you and it is this movie that I had the opportunity to see yesterday. This is why I like anime so much, because of the infinite possibilities that we can get by searching a little in the sea of films out there. Is there a reason for these three groups to be fighting each other? - Plot-wise no, but in this film along with its plot there seems to be a little more sense: power and revenge. As expected, this is a film full of tremendous action, a good plot, a pretty decent animation and above all violence, much of it with its respective blood in good quantities.

Una historia en donde existan y sean enemigos vampiros, cyborgs y los Yakuza? - se las tengo y es esta película que tuve la oportunidad de ver el día de ayer. Por esto es que el anime a mi me gusta tanto, por las infinitas posibilidades que podemos conseguir buscando un poco en el mar de films que hay. Existe una razón de ser para que estos tres grupos se estén peleando entre sí? - argumentalmente no pero en esta película junto con su trama si pareciera haber un poco más de sentido: el poder y la venganza. Como es de esperarse estamos ante un film lleno de una acción tremenda, una buena trama, una animación bastante decente y sobre todo violencia, mucha de ella con su respectiva sangre en buenas cantidades.

It must be said that this movie is a kind of spin-off of an anime called “Estab Life: Great Escape”. Do you need to watch it? - I never felt lost watching this movie but I guess to have a little more context you could watch it.

Todo se centra en Kisaragi, alguien que en algún momento fue humano pero ya no lo es. Y no lo es porque con él experimentaron mucho buscando la clave para que los humanos pudieran vivir más y es que la humanidad en si estaba experimentando un alta mortalidad. La cosa es que lo convirtieron en un cyborg y está siendo perseguido tanto por un grupo de vampiros por haber matado a la hermana de uno de los líderes y por las yakuza por haber asesinado a uno de sus jefes. Hay que decir que esta película es una especie de spin-off de un anime llamado "Estab Life: Great Escape". Hace falta verlo? - yo nunca me sentí perdido viendo esta película pero supongo que para tener un poco más de contexto se pudiera ver.

As I said humanity went through a complicated time and now live in a kind of walled cities (super new that concept) or Clusters being each different with their rules, ways of thinking, government and societies itself. Kisaragi, escaping from everything, arrives to one of these places somewhat familiar to him and from there along with two brothers begin to plan the escape of both himself and the younger sister to a better life. This film, beyond all the action it brings, has a very interesting background and each character has a driving force that makes them act, they don't move just because they do or out of simple hatred, there are compelling reasons that motivate them to act the way they end up doing and that's cool because it gives a lot of depth to the plot.

Como dije la humanidad pasó por un momento complicado y ahora viven en una especie de ciudades amuralladas (super nuevo ese concepto) o Clusters siendo cada uno diferentes con sus reglas, formas de pensar, de gobierno y de sociedades en si. Kisaragi, escapando de todo, llega a uno de estos sitios un tanto familiares para él y desde allí junto a dos hermanos comienzan a planear el escape tanto de él mismo como de la hermana menor hacia una mejor vida. Esta película más allá de toda la acción que trae tiene un trasfondo muy interesante y es que cada personaje tiene un motor que lo hace actuar, no se mueve porque si o por simple odio, hay razones de peso que los motivan a actuar de la forma en la que lo terminan haciendo y eso está cool porque da mucha profundidad a la trama.

And it's funny because in these Clusters they always try to put the common good before individual desires, the detail is that as always the “I” comes first. The plot does not bore, as I already told you; it is impossible for it to do so because there is always something going on, since there are so many fronts in the conflicts, there is always a confrontation. That combination of characters I don't remember ever having seen before, seeing the yakuzas shoot down some vampires and a cyborg is quite surreal. Maybe there is something out there but nothing comes to mind right now.

Venganzas personales, ese es el centro de todo. Y es gracioso porque en estos Clusters siempre buscan anteponer el bien común por sobre los deseos individuales, el detalle es que como siempre el "yo" va por delante. La trama no aburre, como ya les dije; es imposible que lo haga porque siempre está pasando algo, al haber tantos frentes en los conflictos todo el tiempo hay un enfrentamiento. Esa combinación de personajes no recuerdo haberla visto alguna vez, ver a los yakuzas caerle a disparos a unos vampiros y a un cyborg es bastante surreal. Capaz si hay algo por ahí pero no me viene a la mente nada en estos momentos.

The animation is fine. Personally I'm not a big fan of too much 3D, it can look good but in the right measure. This film was produced by Polygon Pictures, a studio that has a lot of use of this resource, an example of them is the film BLAME! which coincidentally has a similar plot. It is not exaggerated here but if we see it a little, fortunately it does not clash much because combined with the action scenes it looks well done. It is a graphic film, there is a dose of violence and blood, but as with 3D, it is not excessive.

La animación está bien. Personalmente no soy muy fanático del 3D en exceso, puede quedar bien pero en su justa medida. Este film fue producido por Polygon Pictures, un estudio que tiene a usar mucho de ese recurso, un ejemplo de ellos es el film BLAME! el cual casualmente tiene una trama similar. Tampoco es que acá lo exagera pero si lo vemos un poco, afortunadamente no choca mucho ya que combinado con las escenas de acción se ve bien logrado. Es una película gráfica, hay sus dosis de violencia, de sangre pero al igual que con el 3D no es excesivo.

In the end we have a pretty good movie, it entertains a lot, it has an interesting plot as well as its characters, to see that mixture of “species”, to put an adjective, is striking. Good action, the ending is a bit predictable and without emotion but it doesn't hurt the story either. It lasts a little over an hour and a half. I leave the trailer below.

Al final tenemos una película bastante buena, entretiene mucho, tiene una trama interesante al igual que sus personajes, ver esa mezcla de "especies", por ponerle un adjetivo, es llamativo. Buena acción, el final es un tanto predecible y sin emoción pero tampoco daña la historia. Dura poco más de hora y media. Les dejo el tráiler por acá abajo.
