(ESP-ENG) Saltburn - A twisted and bizarre story!

Today it's the turn of one of the most fashionable movies and therefore are on everyone's lips talking and commenting about it, yes, I mean Saltburn, a weird, daring, uncomfortable and with some scenes that fall into the disturbing and that are basically the reason why there is so much fuss out there. Personally I think many people were expecting a different plot than what they found since the film had a vibe of being about something but in the blink of an eye everything turned and became something much denser and darker. And yes, I am not exaggerating when I say that we are facing a film which is zero conventional and that for better or worse is giving a lot to talk about.
The main reason why I decide to give it a chance is because of the cast, there are very good actors in their ranks which in the end is a guarantee that at least we will have good performances, I already tell you that yes, this section is top. And another reason is because I have read a lot about this story but when you read the synopsis you realize that there is something that does not quite fit and this makes me curious, how strange does it have to be for people's reactions to be so explicit? - Well, the only way to find out was to see it. Without thinking too much I decided to watch it and I must say that I personally liked the movie, I was afraid it wouldn't be like that but it has something that keeps the viewer awake. So nothing, let's go and talk a little more about this curious story.
The first thing to say is that this film was directed by Emerald Fennell, an Oscar, Emmy and other nominated actress. Knowing both roles I think is vital and even more so in a movie like this. But anyway, let's get to the point. It all starts with Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) who is a young man quite marginalized for apparently coming from a very complicated social environment and because he is extremely intelligent he ended up in the elite of society, he ended up entering Oxford University. From the beginning he knew that this was not his place but having nothing else in life he had no choice but to keep rowing in a world where he found it hard to belong and fit in. Soon this would change.
One of the most beloved and popular students of the faculty was Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), a guy who showed class through his pores, his reality was very different from Oliver's but little by little and somewhat inexplicably they end up being friends to the point that he invites him to his house, mansion, palace, estate, whatever you want to call it, called Saltburn. Once there Oliver begins to realize how eccentric people of a certain status can be to the level of seeming totally disconnected from reality. Decided by Felix they spend the summer there and soon the sensations change, certain somewhat bizarre desires emerge and the stay becomes something very curious to see. From here on is when the interesting part begins.
I want to start by commenting on the plot. When you start watching the movie you get an idea of where it might be heading, more or less in your head you are scheming what is going to happen and the possible tangents that might come out of the central axis, but you know what? - it's not like that. Because yes, the plot is linear and simple, you know what is happening but the why is what is not clear, what is the main cause is what generates doubts. Everything explodes with the plot twist at the end, honestly in all the scenarios that I created in my mind in none of them I contemplated what happened at the end and that is something I value, the ability to take the viewer out of the "mood" and take him to an unexpected place. If it weren't for that, the film would have been just another one of the bunch.
The second thing is the visuals. Without any doubt I say that it is one of the best films I've seen in terms of photography, the handling of light, colors and shades, the cinematography of certain scenes is a total madness, the shots, framing, everything in this film that has to do with visualization is a more than 10. I think it is also one of the reasons why I was so hooked, to enjoy this having more or less some knowledge of the subject for me was very top, I realized that the work behind it is great and I dare to think that for some award in this area will be nominated in one of the corresponding categories.
And well, what to say about the bizarreness of the whole thing. I see this film as a social criticism, it is a reflection of how despicable people can be from a position of power and that is what this family is, despicable and eccentric to the max. It is a film that is also a blow to all the conservative critics, those who expected something and when they saw what it ended up being, they were shaking their heads; it is undoubtedly a daring film as I said before, but it is still of quality. There are a couple of scenes that make the viewer very uncomfortable, one in a bathtub and one in a tomb. There are more out there but those two in particular are very disturbing, when you see the film you will more than realize it. It's not a film for everyone, as I said, you have to watch it with an open mind as much as possible.
Good characters, the second best of the film. Barry is a very good actor, the interpretation here is of a high level, it is a complicated and weird character and he manages to capture that weirdness on the screen to the point of making everyone uncomfortable. Rosamund Pike, who is Elspeth Catton, I also liked her a lot, the living reflection of what I was saying about social classes, very good role for her. And Jacob seemed normal to me, I didn't see him extraordinary, a character very much to his measure, the typical teenager with money who likes everyone, zero outstanding.
7.5/10. I was very surprised, I did not expect many things I saw but they did not bother me, I think they are part of the essence of the film, a disruptive film that gives and will give and will give much to talk about. It is on Amazon Prime and lasts a little over two hours. I leave the trailer below.

Ha Sido una película muy divisiva, aunque entiendo de dónde vienen todas las quejas yo personalmente la disfruté mucho, y aunque hubiese querido que el twist final de revelara con más elegancia (considerando lo predecible que fue para mí), me parece muy sólida.
Barry Keoghan es un actor brillante, y todos los que le rodean hicieron un trabajo genial aquí.
Correcto. Le película trae opiniones muy divididas pero al igual que tú me gustó mucho, creo que de lo mejor del año, es un film muy atrevido y que como dije no es para el todo mundo.
Barry es top como actor, ese personaje con sus complejidades lo hizo de 10.
La tengo lista para verla. Esperare pasar estos días para hacerlo. Me guasto mucho la anterior película de la directora, espero esta mantenga su estilo. Aunque a un par de critico profesionales que sigo no les ha convencido.
A los críticos no les gustó para nada, yo al no serlo no puedo entender muy bien porque. En lo personal me gustó mucho, es verdad que la trama es muy lineal pero creo que cerró bien, de verdad no ví venir ese plot final, a lo mejor me pasé de lento no se jaja
