Yellowstone prequel miniseries that chronicles the journey of the first Duttons looking for a home in the wild west. A road that, as the trailer says, was paved with blood. It is not the first time that the difficult conquest of the American West is told. A land where the law of the strongest prevailed, leaving no room for the weak. It was a world of tough men.
I liked the development of this miniseries. Taylor Sheridan expands the Yellowstone universe, looking at the past with a full-fledged Western. Cowboys, guns and death. When chaos and evil roam every corner of this barren land, the only way to survive is to fight.
This is not only the story of the Duttons. It is also the story of the immigrants who came to the new world fleeing the misery of their home countries, where they were so badly off, that they are willing to risk their lives and everything they have, in the hope of getting to a place where they can be free, occupy a land and start a new life.
It also covers the story of those who have lost everything and are motivated by sadness and grief. There's a lot of that in this miniseries. For that reason I chose that line from Elsa Dutton at the beginning of the post, she says it in the sixth episode. Suffering and pain for everyone. Maybe that's another reason why I loved it.

Me gustó el desarrollo de esta miniserie. Taylor Sheridan expande el universo de Yellowstone, viendo el pasado con un Western en toda regla. Vaqueros, pistolas y muerte. Cuando el caos y el mal recorren cada rincón de estas áridas tierras, la única forma de sobrevivir es luchar.
No es sólo la historia de los Dutton. Es también la historia de los inmigrantes que llegaron al nuevo mundo huyendo de la miseria de sus países de origen, donde estaban tan mal, que están dispuestos a arriesgar sus vidas y todo lo que tienen, con la esperanza de llegar a un lugar donde puedan ser libres, ocupar una tierra y empezar una nueva vida.
También abarca la historia de quienes lo han perdido todo y están motivados por la tristeza y el dolor. Hay mucho de eso en esta miniserie. Por tal motivo elegí esa frase de Elsa Dutton al principio del post, la dice en el sexto episodio. Sufrimiento y dolor para todos. Quizá esa sea otra de las razones por las que me ha encantado.
Death and grief have forged the character of the Duttons. James Dutton's tears at the end of Guerra in the first episode confirm this. Words that touched me very much, maybe I'm going through a very sensitive stage, but it's a beautiful scene and it touched my heart.
Beauty is very present in the miniseries. There is a lot of tragedy, death, crying, but at the same time immersed in beauty. Not only in the inhospitable landscape of the American West, but also in the words of the characters. This story of the Yellowstone universe is very different from the mother series. It is an excellent decision to give it a different tone.
By the end of it, we will better understand the Yellowstone Duttons' attitude towards their land. Giving a greater sense of John Dutton's stubbornness not to sell them. The early Duttons made a great sacrifice, paid a very high price and those lands are now part of the family, something sacred to them. Six generations later, the struggle to preserve them will continue. It is not for economic reasons, it is for the family.
La muerte y el dolor han forjado el carácter de los Dutton. Las lágrimas de James Dutton al final de Guerra en el primer episodio lo confirman. No es el mismo hombre de antes y por eso no le gusta hablar de lo que ha vivido. Lo que no sabe es que el destino le tiene preparado un dolor más desgarrador.
El capitán Shea Brennan no es un Dutton, pero esos seis meses compartiendo viaje tendrán una gran influencia en esa familia. Es un hombre atormentado por algo que ya no tiene y decidió hacer ese último trabajo con un claro propósito. Lo explica en el sexto episodio, en la conversación con Elsa. Palabras que me emocionaron mucho, quizá estoy pasando por una etapa muy sensible, pero es una escena preciosa y toco mi corazón.
La belleza está muy presente en la miniserie. Hay mucha tragedia, muerte, llanto, pero al mismo tiempo inmerso en la belleza. No sólo en el paisaje inhóspito del Oeste americano, sino también en las palabras de los personajes. Esta historia del universo Yellowstone es muy diferente de la serie madre. Es una excelente decisión darle un tono diferente.
Al final de la misma, comprenderemos mejor la actitud de los Dutton de Yellowstone con respecto a su tierra. Dando un mayor sentido a la terquedad de John Dutton de no venderlas. Los primeros Dutton hicieron un gran sacrificio, pagaron un precio muy alto y esas tierras son ahora parte de la familia, algo sagrado para ellos. Seis generaciones después, la lucha por preservarlas continuará. No es por motivos económicos, es por la familia.
My favorite character was Elsa Dutton. A great performance by Isabel May, a very pretty young actress who knew how to give strength to a very difficult character. It was primodial to show herself innocent and fragile at the beginning, until she becomes a strong cowgirl. Her mother Margaret is also a strong woman. She is played by Faith Hill. The Dutton women seem to be feisty characters, now I understand why Beth in Yellowstone is a hurricane. It's in her genes.
Tim McGraw fits the role of James Dutton perfectly. Hardened in a thousand battles, he is the typical tough cowboy in these stories. For him, the most important thing is his family and he will do anything to protect them. Another character that stands out is Captain Shea Brannon, played by veteran actor Sam Elliot, who won a SAG award for his character. By the way, Elliot made some harsh statements against the movie The Power of the Dog, as he did not agree with what was shown in that film about cowboys, something that caused him to be criticized by a small sector that branded him a sexist. But Elliot is a modern cowboy, a real macho man with those long whiskers.
I highly recommend this miniseries, it is not necessary to have seen Yellowstone. It is a stand-alone story that tells the origin of the Dutton dynasty in the Montana lands. It is violent, tragic, painful and beautiful.

Mi personaje favorito fue Elsa Dutton. Una gran interpretación de Isabel May, joven actriz muy guapa que supo dar fuerza a un personaje muy difícil. Era primodial mostrarse inocente y frágil al principio, hasta que se convierte en una fuerte vaquera. Su madre Margaret también es una mujer fuerte. La interpreta Faith Hill. Las mujeres de los Dutton parecen tener un carácter luchador, ahora entiendo por qué Beth en Yellowstone es un huracán. Lo lleva en los genes.
Tim McGraw encaja perfectamente en el papel de James Dutton. Curtido en mil batallas, es el duro vaquero típico de estas historias. Para él, lo más importante es su familia y hará lo que sea para protegerla. Otro personaje que destaca es el capitán Shea Brannon, interpretado por el veterano actor Sam Elliot, que ganó un premio SAG por su personaje. Por cierto, Elliot hizo unas duras declaraciones en contra de la película El poder del perro, ya que no estaba de acuerdo con lo que se mostraba en ese filme sobre los vaqueros, algo que provocó que fuera criticado por un pequeño sector que le tachó de machista. Pero Elliot es un vaquero moderno, un auténtico macho con esos largos bigotes.
Recomiendo esta miniserie, no es necesario haber visto Yellowstone. Es una historia independiente que cuenta el origen de la dinastía Dutton en las tierras de Montana. Es violenta, trágica, dolorosa y hermosa.

Paisajes, caballos, armas, luchas, sobrevivir, dolor para llegar a un fin. Creo que esas palabras se me inspiraron al leer la reseña.
La historia me encanta y se acompaña de tan buenos ambientes y relatos mejor aún. De la lucha y el dolor se forjan las grandes naciones y eso lleva su tiempo.

Lo que más disfruté de esta series es que tiene más apariencia western que 1923 y Yellowstone, lo mencioné en mi reseña hace tiempo, porque aunque todas muestran la vida de vaqueros, 1883 es la historia de una familia que busca alejarse de esa vida buscando una tierra idílica pero su viaje es muy tráfico, el lejano oeste no se lo pone facil.
A mi me gusto mas que la serie madre jajaja

Ohhh en cuanto leí tu reseña de Yellostone, busque enseguida esta miniserie, y la verdad es una historia muy fuerte, dolorosa y sangrienta como dices, sin duda vale la pena verla, todo lo que pasaron para poder llegar a buen sitio, donde se sintieran seguros y poder hacerlos suyo, todo lo que vivieron, ahora con más razón se entiende esta lucha de los Dutton, al no querer entregar sus tierras, porque bueno, las hicieron suyas, la trabajaron, lucharon mucho para conseguirla, me gusto tu reseña, gracias por recomendarnos esta serie, muy buena..
Me gusto mucho 1883. Me encanto el personaje Elsa Dutton. La tragedia y el dolor que hay en todos los episodios. Espero ver ahora 1923 la próxima semana.
