That Christmas is an animated Christmas film that aired in 2024. It explores themes of comedy, love, loneliness during the holiday season. It is the tale of one of the most challenging night of Santa Claus’ long career.

Plot Summary- this movie set in the town of Wellington-on-Sea conveys the story of a lonely boy, his single mother, his strict teacher’s transformation and the other residents. The first scene showed Danny Williams (the lonely boy) preparing for a Christmas party in school as one of the three wise men, alongside Sam(the girl he liked), her twin—Charlie, Bernadette and some other student. But for all the residents of Wellington-on-Sea, things turned around after there was a Christmas-heavy snowstorm.

Danny was a very shy boy who lived alone with his single mother (a nurse always away from home, but made it up to him every time) while his dad was a no-show even for the Christmas holidays, this made Danny sad.
Santa came on Christmas Eve and gifted him a stocking full of gifts and a quad bike. This made him so happy. At the end of the movie, he softly confessed to Sam that he liked her and with the help of his strict teacher—Mrs. Trapper, he got happier with his mum on Christmas day.

And there was Charlie (twin of Sam) who was the outspoken twin and seen as a notorious girl who always caused trouble. Her parents told her she wouldn't get a Christmas present from Santa if she didn't turn a new leaf/be a good girl. While Sam was very timid and calm, but Sam discovered that Charlie’s behaviour stemmed from getting revenge on people who treated Sam unfairly.
Sam then corrected the perception their parents had of Charlie that she was notorious. They both got Christmas presents from Santa, proving Charlie wasn't so bad after all.

While Bernadette’s parents were out for a wedding celebration on Christmas Eve (from which they got stuck because of the heavy snowstorm) , she was very determined on changing the normal ritual Christmas always done at home. She brought other children together and they experienced a very different Christmas which turned out to be a very memorable Christmas.
Santa surprised them with gifts, which made them all happy. And her parents made it back on Christmas day.

The chaos of the storm that caused so many struggles later brought all the families of wellington-on-sea together, making them realize the value of love and togetherness during the holiday.

'That Christmas' movie highlights the importance of kindness, compassion, and the need to connect during the holidays.

The animation is rich with vibrant colors, which added life to the town of Wellington-on-Sea. Every actor brought their character to life, making it more delightful to watch for both kids and adults. Will give it a rating of 4.5/5. It is available to watch on Netflix.
