Hello everyone!!! I hope you are feeling great today. Here I am dying of heat... Lately there has been a horrible heat wave in my country, Venezuela. Today I want to share with you a review of an amazing movie. It is the reinvention of Suicide Squad! This movie was directed by the incredible director James Gunn, director of the Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy movies, very good movies! Considered by many as one of the best of the entire cinematic universe. Currently, this gentleman has become the main head of all DC. Maybe some didn't know it, but the whole cinematic universe that started years ago with the movie: Man of Steel, ended recently. And James Gunn will reboot everything, so we will see what vision he will have, and how all these new movies will turn out. But.. back to today's topic, to the Suicide Squad movie.. they return some famous villains, and some new ones to this movie, and I really found it a thousand times better than the previous one, the one from 2016. Once I finished watching this movie, I think the DC universe, and its characters were left in good hands. You will see why...

Hola a todos!! Espero se encuentren genial el día de hoy. Por aquí yo muriendo de calor.. Últimamente ha habido una ola de calor horrible en mi país, Venezuela. El día de hoy les quiero compartir una reseña de una película increíble. Se trata de la reinvención del Escuadrón Suicida! Esta película fue dirigida por el increíble director James Gunn, director de las películas de los Guardianes de la Galaxia de Marvel, películas muy buenas! Consideradas por muchos como de las mejores de todo ese universo cinematográfico. Actualmente, este señor se ha vuelto la cabeza principal de todo DC. Tal vez algunos no lo supieran, pero todo el universo cinematográfico que comenzó hace años con la película: Man of Steel, termino recientemente. Y James Gunn hará un reboot de todo, así que veremos que visión tendrá, y como resultaran todas estas nuevas películas. Pero.. volviendo al tema de hoy, a la película del Escuadrón Suicida.. vuelven algunos famosos villanos, y otros nuevos a esta película, y realmente me pareció mil veces mejor que la anterior, la del 2016. Une vez terminé de ver esta película, creo que el universo DC, y sus personajes quedaron en buenas manos. Ya verán por qué..

I have to say that this movie caught my attention quite a bit, as I knew the director and knew he could do an excellent job, plus the trailers were very good.... I liked what they presented. This made me go to the theater with high expectations, and I am happy to say that indeed this new movie exceeded my expectations. It's quite a refreshing remake, they show again this weird team of antiheroes and villains, with all their quirks and craziness that characterize them, the team feels more balanced and they all have a great chemistry. This time we will accompany this team on a super dangerous mission, where the peace and integrity of the world is involved, these villains will once again try to get out of a few years of prison, and must once again follow the orders of the sadistic Amanda Waller, or lose their heads in the process. The first thing that stands out in this movie is the witty black humor it has, it is all over the film, James Gunn does not mince words to make fun of some stereotypes of superheroes and villains, he manages to get more than one genuine laugh out of you, and he knows how to use the characters of the Weasel or King Shark, they could feel like that comic relief of the team, but they also bring their own. The humor is a strong point of this movie, I found it very funny in certain parts, it doesn't look forced either, like in Marvel, where sometimes you notice that they try to put jokes where they don't really go, aiming towards a child audience, on the contrary in this movie, the humor goes towards an already adult and mature audience, putting in the classic double meaning jokes, that a child wouldn't understand. The good interactions of the crew, along with this humor, makes it a pleasure to watch them in action.

Tengo que decir que esta película me llamaba bastante la atención, ya que conocía al director y sabía que podría hacer un excelente trabajo, además, los trailers eran muy buenos.. Me gustaba lo que presentaban. Esto hizo que fuera al cine con las expectativas altas, y me alegra decir que efectivamente esta nueva película supero mis expectativas. Es una nueva versión bastante refrescante, muestran de nuevo a este raro equipo de antihéroes y villanos, con todas sus rarezas y locuras que los caracterizan, el equipo se siente más equilibrado y todos tienen una gran química. Esta vez acompañaremos a este equipo a una misión súper peligrosa, donde la paz e integridad del mundo está involucrada, estos villanos de nuevo intentaran librarse de algunos años de prisión, y deberán seguir nuevamente las órdenes de la sádica Amanda Waller, o perder la cabeza en el proceso.. Lo primero que resalta en esta película es el ingenioso humor negro que tiene, está por toda la cinta, James Gunn no tiene pelos en la lengua para burlarse de algunos estereotipos de superhéroes y villanos, te logra sacar más de una carcajada genuina, y sabe usar a los personajes de la Comadreja o King Shark, podrían sentirse como ese alivio cómico del equipo, pero también aportan lo suyo. El humor es un punto fuerte de esta película, me pareció muy graciosa en ciertas partes, tampoco se ve forzado, como en Marvel, donde a veces se nota que tratan de meter chisten donde realmente no van, apuntando hacia un público infantil, al contrario en esta película, el humor va hacia un público ya adulto y maduro, metiendo los clásicos chistes de doble sentido, que un niño no entendería. Las buenas interacciones del equipo, junto con este humor, hace que te dé gusto verlos en acción.

Another great success are the character designs, and also the costumes. They were not afraid to adapt the extravagant costumes from the comics, and even improve them, taking them to a new level of weirdness, for example Peacemaker's helmet and outfit, which may look ridiculous, but it has a comic book touch that gives him more dynamism. Speaking of this character, played by Jhon Cena, I thought I wouldn't like him and indeed I did, but they knew how to carry him perfectly, getting laughs and tears out of him. You can see that there was no fear of creating a very good choreography and incredible visuals as it should be in superhero movies, and you can feel this antihero feeling in the personalities of each of the members... They are not heroes, they don't save cats, they don't help grannies, and in this context you don't need to be good-natured, you need bastards who can do what needs to be done. As for the action... I found it very well mapped, it transmits you a lot of adrenaline and explicit violence, as it was intended, this fits perfectly with the nature of the story. It feels quite realistic in the shooting scenes, and in the melee fights, that is appreciated, they also satisfy the gore fans by showing certain explosions of viscera and blood, at appropriate times, which is good, as it is not just fanservice.

Otro gran acierto son los diseños de los personajes, y también el vestuario. No tuvieron miedo de adaptar los trajes extravagantes de los comics, e incluso mejorarlos, llevándolos a un nuevo nivel de rareza, como ejemplo el casco y vestimenta de Peacemaker, que puede parecer ridículo, pero tiene su toque salido de comic que le da más dinamismo. Hablando de este personaje, interpretado por Jhon Cena, pensé que no me agradaría y en efecto fue así, pero supieron llevarlo perfectamente, logrando sacar risas y lágrimas con él.. Se nota que no hubo ningún tipo de miedo de plasmar una muy buena coreografía y visuales increíbles como debería ser en las películas de superhéroes, y se siente este sentimiento de antihéroe en las personalidades de cada uno de los miembros.. Ellos no son héroes, no salvan gatos, ni ayudan abuelitas, y en este contexto no se necesita ser bonachón, se necesita de desgraciados que puedan hacer lo que debe hacerse. En cuanto a la acción.. me pareció muy bien cartografiada, te transmite mucha adrenalina y violencia explícita, como se tenía previsto, esto encaja perfectamente con la naturaleza de la historia. Se siente bastante realismo en las escenas de tiroteos, y en las luchas cuerpo a cuerpo, eso se agradece, también satisfacen a los fans del gore mostrando ciertas explosiones de vísceras y sangre, en momentos adecuados, lo que es bueno, ya que no es solo fanservice.

I really liked all the development of the characters, they all have their moment to shine, and contribute to the mission. From Harley, Bloodsport, through the charismatic and cute King Shark, to lesser known figures like Ratcacher 2, the latter being one of my favorites of the team... I hope to see more of her in the new cinematic universe. The plot, although it doesn't have crazy plot twists, knows how to keep you glued and interested, we see a mission full of unforeseen events, which makes our villains have to be improvising again and again. As I was telling you, for me, this movie far surpasses David Ayer's previous disappointing 2016 version, which what it did was to give us a Joker that made no impact, and a boring plot that doesn't excite anyone... Or at least it didn't thrill me. The only good thing about that movie, were the presentations of Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, and Will Smith's Deadshot, the latter being the only one I missed, and I wish he was in this version. Thank goodness they brought us this new version of this team, where each one can shine... I give this movie a good 8.5/10. Exceeding my expectations, it easily stands as one of the best antihero movies I've seen, James Gunn's approach works wonders for this group of outcasts, and makes for an entertaining, violent, and sentimental ride. If you are a comic book fan, or you like action along with black humor, you can't miss this great gem! I know you will enjoy it. Me gustó mucho todo el desarrollo que tienen los personajes, todos tienen su momento para lucirse, brillar y aportar a la misión. Desde Harley, Bloodsport, pasando por el carismático y tierno King Shark, hasta figuras menos conocidas como Ratcacher 2, esta última siendo de mis favoritas del equipo.. ojala ver de ella más en el nuevo universo cinematográfico. La trama, si bien no tiene giros argumentales loquísimos, sabe mantenerte pegado y con interés, vemos una misión llena de imprevistos, lo que hace que nuestros villanos tengan que estar improvisando una, y otra vez. Como les comentaba, para mí, esta película supera con creces la decepcionante versión anterior de David Ayer de 2016, que lo que hizo fue darnos un Joker que no causo ningún impacto, y una trama aburrida que no emociona a nadie.. O por lo menos a mí no me emociono. Lo único bueno de esa película, fueron las presentaciones de la Harley Quinn de Margot Robbie, y el Deadshot de Will Smith, siendo este último el único que extrañe, y que ojalá fuera estado en esta versión. Menos mal nos trajeron esta nueva versión de este equipo, donde cada uno puedo brillar.. Le doy a esta película un buen 8.5/10. Superando mis expectativas, se postula fácilmente como una de las mejores películas de antihéroes que he visto, la propuesta de James Gunn le va de maravilla a este grupo de marginados, y logra un entretenido, violento, y sentimental viaje. Si eres fan de los comics, o te gusta la acción junto con el humor negro, no puedes perderte esta gran joya! Sé que la disfrutaras.
