I want to share with you a new post, with my review and opinion of a very well known series... and I'm sure you've already seen or heard about it. It's Peaky Blinders, many say it's the best mafia series nowadays, and its fame is proof that it has made thousands of people fall in love with it. I personally do not usually consume many mafia works... it is not a genre that calls me too much, however, many friends had recommended me this series and I decided to watch it. I remember it was still on the air when I watched it.... I found something unique, and very good. I had already seen stereotypes similar to the Shelby family, but still this story caught my attention enough for me to give it a chance. If mafias and gangster stories are your thing, stick around, this is definitely the series for you.

Les quiero compartir un nuevo post, con mi reseña y opinión de una serie muy conocida... y que seguro ya han visto o han escuchado hablar de ella. Se trata de Peaky Blinders, muchos dicen que es la mejor serie de mafia actualmente, y su fama es prueba de que ha enamorado a miles de personas. Yo personalmente no suelo consumir muchas obras de mafia.. no es un género que me llame demasiado, sin embargo, muchos amigos me habían recomendado esta serie y decidí verla. Recuerdo que aún estaba en emisión cuando la vi.. Me encontré con algo único, y muy bueno. Ya había visto estereotipos parecidos a los que tiene la familia Shelby, pero aun así esta historia me llamo la atención lo suficiente para que le diera una oportunidad. Si lo tuyo son las mafias y las historias de gangsters, quédate, que sin duda esta es tu serie.

After watching this series, with only the first season... I was able to see what other people liked so much. It has that violence... the weapons, and other situations of action between gangs that surely captivated many people. I dare to say that the younger ones along with their friends wanted to run to buy clothes similar to those of our protagonists and imagine that they are the Peaky Blinders haha, (It is something that obviously if I had the resources and friends I would do). This series set in the 1920s, just after the War, we know this family, and how it is rising to power in the criminal world. These mobsters have as their leader the charismatic and intelligent Thomas "Tommy" Shelby, played incredibly well by actor Cillian Murphy which we recently saw in Oppenheimer's film. This great actor has recently won an Oscar for his performance in the aforementioned film, but it was THIS series that made many people set their eyes on him. I didn't really know him... this series was my first contact with Murphy, and I was very satisfied with his performance, this kind of characters really look amazing on him. Another thing I liked the most about this series was its excellent direction and photography, they really capture the era, and transport you to it, this is something I always appreciate a lot. You can see the misery that is implanted in society, the costumes, and music contribute a lot to this sense of danger. It brings you completely into this criminal world.

Luego de ver esta serie, con solo la primera temporada.. Pude ver eso que tanto gusto a las demás personas. Tiene esa violencia.. las armas, y demás situaciones de acción entre bandas que seguramente cautivo a mucha gente. Me atrevo a decir a que los más jóvenes junto con sus amigos quisieron correr a comprar ropa similar a la de nuestros protagonistas e imaginar que son los Peaky Blinders jaja, (Es algo que obviamente de tener los recursos y los amigos yo haría). Esta serie ambientada en la década de 1920, justo después de la Guerra, conocemos a esta familia, y como va ascendiendo al poder en el mundo criminal. Estos mafiosos tienen como líder al carismático e inteligente Thomas “Tommy” Shelby, interpretado de manera increíble por el actor Cillian Murphy qué reciente vimos en la película de Oppenheimer. Este gran actor se ha llevado reciénteme el premio Oscar por su interpretación en la película antes mencionada, pero fue ESTA serie lo que hizo que muchas personas pusieran sus ojos en él. Yo no lo conocía la verdad.. esta serie fue mi primer contacto con Murphy, y me dejo muy satisfecho su actuación, este tipo de personajes realmente le quedan increíbles. Otra de las cosas que más me gusto de esta serie fue su excelente dirección y fotografía, realmente capturan la época, y te transportan a ella, esto es algo que siempre aprecio bastante. Se ve la miseria que se implanta en la sociedad, los vestuarios y música aportan mucho a esta sensación de peligro.. Te hace adentrarte completamente en este mundo criminal.

It is clear that Cillian Murphy was the best choice that could be made to choose the protagonist of this series, he transmits with a single look so many things... He is capable of intimidating anyone who stands between him and his goals, although that doesn't mean he is made of iron, after all he is human. You get to see in certain parts moments of vulnerability in the character, all those doubts that he's had... You see that duality, and the reflection on the path he has decided on, and it's even sadder to see that it has given him many things... But it's also taken them away. There are more great characters, most have their appeal and are enjoyable to watch, for example Aunt Polly, the impulsive Arthur, among others... Each family member brings their different nuances to the family dynamic, and are a great support to Shelby, most of the time...we see several situations filled with crime, betrayal and revenge that will test this family time and time again.

Está claro que Cillian Murphy era la mejor elección que se podía hacer para elegir al protagonista de esta serie, te transmite con una sola mirada tantas cosas... Es capaz de intimidar a cualquiera que se interponga entre él y sus objetivos, aunque eso no significa que sea de hierro, al fin y al cabo es humano. Llegas a ver en ciertas partes momentos de vulnerabilidad en el personaje, todas esas dudas que ha tenido... Ves esa dualidad, y la reflexión sobre el camino que ha decidido, y es aún más triste ver que le ha dado muchas cosas... Pero también se las ha quitado. Hay más personajes geniales, la mayoría tienen su atractivo y son agradables de ver, por ejemplo la tía Polly, el impulsivo Arthur, entre otros... Cada miembro de la familia aporta sus diferentes matices a la dinámica familiar, y son un gran apoyo para Shelby, la mayor parte del tiempo... vemos varias situaciones llenas de crimen, traición y venganza que pondrán a prueba a esta familia una y otra vez.

In the course of this series, we see how our protagonist is very intelligent, it seems that he always has an ace up his sleeve, that he knows it all (as we say here in Venezuela). But, not always everything goes as he wants... We can feel the sensation that things, no matter how planned they are, can go wrong... very wrong, we are given enough scenes of suspense and drama, that makes us move from the seat. As for the seasons... My favorite without a doubt was the second one, we are introduced to a great character: the Jewish gangster Alfie Solomons played by Tom Hardy. The scenes that Tommy Shelby and Alfie share are brimming with a lot of intensity... we will see how these two deranged minds face each other, two masterminds of crime who fight mercilessly for their own interests, it was a complete pleasure to watch. If I had to mention some negative aspects of this work... I think it would be the times that it abuses a little of the typical clichés of the gangster genre, but they are minor things... But that doesn't mean it's not a great product, it has a lot of acting and narrative quality.

En el transcurso de esta serie, vemos como nuestro protagonista es muy inteligente, parece que siempre tiene un as bajo la manga, que se la sabe todas (Como decimos aquí en Venezuela). Pero, no siempre todo sale como él quiere.. Podemos sentir esa sensación de que las cosas por muy planeadas que estén pueden salir mal.. muy mal, nos dan bastantes escenas de suspenso y drama, que hace que nos movamos del asiento. En cuanto a las temporadas.. Mi favorita sin duda fue la segunda, se nos presenta a un personaje genial: el gánster judío Alfie Solomons interpretado por Tom Hardy. Las escenas que comparten Tommy Shelby y Alfie rebosan de mucha intensidad.. veremos cómo se enfrentan estas dos mentes trastornadas, dos mentes maestras del crimen que luchan sin piedad por sus propios intereses, fue un completo placer de ver. Si tuviera que mencionar algunos aspectos negativos de esta obra.. Creo que sería las veces que abusa un poco de los clichés típicos del género de gangsters, pero son cositas menores.. No por eso deja de ser un gran producto, es mucha la calidad actoral y narrativa que te ofrece.

I found Peaky Blinders to be a great series. It stands out enough in all aspects, outstanding performances, quite charismatic characters, you can love them or hate them, but that you feel something watching them that's for sure. We must also highlight its plot. It has good plot twists, and of course an incredible setting that gets into all this criminal world, something that greatly enhances all its other virtues. I finished each season wanting more, I'm sure many of you will finish the same... It's no wonder it's one of the most popular series of the last few years. I give it a solid 8.8/10 rating. If gangsters and mafia is your thing, no doubt you will enjoy it too much.. and even if you think this genre is not your thing, I invite you to give it a chance, you may end up surprised like me. Peaky Blinders me pareció una gran serie. Destaca lo suficiente en todos los aspectos, actuaciones sobresalientes, unos personajes bastante carismáticos, los puedes amar u odiar, pero de que sientes algo viéndolos eso es seguro. También hay que destacar su trama.. Tiene buenos giros de guion, y por supuesto una increíble ambientación que te mete en todo este mundo criminal, algo que potencia mucho todas sus otras virtudes. Yo terminaba cada temporada con ganas de más, seguro mucho de ustedes terminarán igual.. No es nada extraño que sea de las series más populares de los últimos años. Le doy una sólida calificación de 8.8/10. Si los gangsters y la mafia es lo tuyo, sin duda la disfrutarás demasiado.. e incluso si crees que este género no es lo tuyo, te invito a darle una oportunidad, puedes acabar sorprendido como yo.
