Asteroid city | Movie Review (sort of)
I was checking my HBO account and I found this movie that appeared at the beginning almost with flashing signs, and obviously the first thing that appears in the synopsis is that it is a creation of Wes Anderson.
Asteroid city, I'm not going to lie to you, it's difficult to understand, well, I think I expressed myself wrong, it has several points of view that I feel is complex to explain, what I mean is as if each character leaves you with a different point, a different learning.
Estaba chequeando mi cuenta de HBO y me encontré con esta película que me salía en el inicio casi que con letreros destellantes, y obviamente lo primero que salga en la sinopsis es que es una creación de Wes Anderson.
Asteroid city, no les voy a mentir, es difícil de entender, bueno, creo que me expresé mal, tiene varios puntos de vistas que siento que es complejo explicarlo, lo que quiero decir es como si cada personaje te deja un punto de vista diferente, un aprendizaje diferente.

It's easy to get lost in this movie, especially when we don't know Wes's entire career since he has a unique and characteristic style. I had already seen some of his works and they have in common all this visual attention that I don't know how to explain it, they are very attractive and everything seems perfect, each line and each color fits into its place, plus they are full of many emotions because we see that the characters speak from the depths of their being, in the end they end up being films that really highlight what it is to be human, what it means to exist.
And this is no exception, let's see, I wouldn't even know how to explain the movie to you to give you a review because the movie has too much information, about everything. To begin with, it is like seeing a play within a play, from here we can deduce that it is a tribute to the world of entertainment, to this beautiful visual art. It's set in a desert but in the 1950s, first we start with a family who apparently gets trapped in this city at the beginning because their car breaks down. This family is made up of a father, 3 little girls and 1 teenage boy. This family lost their mother but the children still don't know it. Here we begin with one of Anderson's characteristic things, which are feelings, since here we find loss and pain.
Es fácil perderse en esta película, sobretodo cuando no conocemos toda la trayectoria de Wes ya que tiene un estilo único y característico. Ya yo había visto algunas de sus obras y tienen en común toda esta atención visual que no sé cómo explicarlo, son muy vistosas y todo parece perfecto, cada línea y cada color encaja en su lugar, además de que están llenas de muchas emociones porque vemos que los personajes hablan desde lo profundo de su ser, al final terminan siendo películas que realmente destacan lo que es ser humano, lo que significa existir.
Y esta no es la excepción, a ver, no sabría ni cómo explicarles la película para darles una reseña porque la película tiene demasiada información, acerca de todo. Para empezar es como ver una obra dentro de una obra, ya por aquí podemos deducir que es un homenaje al mundo del espectáculo, a este hermoso arte visual. Está ambientada en un desierto pero en los años 50s, primero empezamos con una familia que al parecer queda atrapada en esta ciudad al principio porque se les dañó el auto. Esta familia está compuesta por un padre, 3 niñas pequeñas y 1 niño adolescente. Esta familia perdió a su madre pero los niños aún no lo saben. Aquí ya empezamos con una de las cosas características de Anderson que son los sentimientos puesto que aquí encontramos perdidas y dolor.

After this they end up another group of people also being trapped in the city because a quarantine happened very unexpectedly, in the end there are a lot of people here, and everything becomes very strange, there is also an astronomy convention, a space race and there are also aliens, technically only 1 but this is a spoiler, lol.
Just like a play, there are many scenes, here there are plots that occur one after another, it is like raising the curtain and we see the world of colors, beautiful and symmetrical, lowering the curtain and we see another play that we have to explore and discover, not only once but several times.
I wanted to bring you a good review but the reality for me is different, with so much information coming from one place to another, I think to myself that I should watch the movie a couple more times to gain more understanding, although I think there is no correct way or incorrect here, knowing that this is the effect Anderson causes, leaving us confused if we don't know it. What do you think? Has anyone already seen it that could enlighten me a little more?
Después de esto terminan otro grupo de personas quedando también atrapados en la ciudad porque ocurrió una cuarentena de forma muy inesperada, al final es que hay mucha gente aquí, y todo se torna muy extraño, también sucede una convención de astronomía, de carrera espacial y también hay extraterrestres, técnicamente solo 1 pero esto es spoiler, lol.
Al igual que una obra, hay muchas escenas, aquí hay tramas que ocurren una tras otra, es como subir el telón y vemos el mundo de colores, hermoso y simétrico, bajar el telón y vemos otra obra que tenemos que explorar y descubrir, no solamente una vez sino varias veces.
Quería traerles una buena reseña pero la realidad para mi es otra, con tanta información llegando de un lado a otro, me planteo a mi misma que debo ver la película un par de veces más para obtener más entendimiento, aunque creo que no hay forma correcta o incorrecta aquí, sabiendo que este es el efecto que causa Anderson, dejarnos confundidos si no lo conocemos. ¿Qué opinan ustedes? ¿Alguno ya la ha visto que me pueda iluminar un poco más?
Entiendo perfectamente la sensación que tienes al terminar de ver la película. A mi me llamó la atención su reparto, y por eso me decidí a verla. Mi esposa se quedó dormida, pero yo sí la vi completa. Creo que, como dices, cada personaje cuenta una historia aparte dentro de la historia principal, que ya de por sí está metida en otra historia. Lo que más me hizo reír es lo "barato" del alien. Pero bueno, Wes tiene más criterio que yo. Saludos @josehany
