Padmaavat | The controversial Indian film
Today I want to talk about this movie that I recently watched and that is worth recommending for the story and the overall message. I think this movie has been very well known worldwide, if you haven't seen it what are you waiting for?
To put it into context, this is an Indian movie based on a poem of the same name, a poem that was written in 1540. Certainly parts of this poem remain faithful in the movie but others do not, I would say 50/50.
Hoy les quiero hablar de esta película que recientemente estuve viendo y que vale la pena recomendar por la historia y el mensaje en general. Creo que esta película ha sido muy bien conocida a nivel mundial, si no la has visto que estás esperando.
Para entrar en contexto, esta es una película india basada en un poema que lleva el mismo nombre, un poema que por cierto fue escrito en 1540. Ciertamente partes de este poema permanecen fieles en la película pero otras no, diría que un 50 y 50.

Padmaavat or Padmavati begins with the meeting of King Ratan in search of some pearls in the kingdom of Signhal, however at first he does not have a good reception in this kingdom because he ends up being hurt by Princess Padmavati, not intentionally but from here on a love at first sight arises for both, because Padmavati is certainly a beautiful woman, in fact, it is said that she is the most beautiful woman that exists in this world.

This is how the film begins and if I may, I must mention that this entire first part is totally changed from the original poem, since what really happens is that there is a bird, like a kind of parrot, which is the one who meets Ratan and describes the beauty of Padmavati to him... In fact, these types of changes and even the direction of the film were reasons for strong protests in India and the problem escalated so much, even Netflix removed this film from its platform to avoid future problems. There were many rumors about the film when it was in full filming, for example rumors of scenes where the Muslim sultan fantasized about intimacy with the Hindu queen, scenes that never really happened, they were all rumors, however radical groups continued causing violent acts... Today, the film can be found on Prime Video.
Returning to the subject of the film, what the film is really going to focus on is that this beautiful woman Padmavati is married to King Ratan, which makes her Queen. Rumors of her unique beauty make her the target of a Muslim sultan Alauddin, a man who is obsessed with beautiful things, since he himself says that all beautiful things must be possessed by him, so when he hears this description of such a beautiful woman, he becomes obsessed with her and decides to have her, no matter who gets in his way, and the obsession is so much that it even starts a war.
Así es como comienza la película y si me permiten, debo mencionar que toda esta primera parte es totalmente cambiado del poema original, ya que lo que realmente pasa es que existe un ave, como una especie de loro, que es el que se encuentra con Ratan y le describe la belleza de Padmavati... De hecho, estos tipos de cambios e inclusivo la directiva de la película fueron motivos de fuertes protestas en la india y el problema escaló tanto, inclusive hasta Netflix sacó de su plataforma a esta película para evitarse futuros problemas. Habían muchos rumores de la película cuando estaba en pleno rodaje, por ejemplo rumores de escenas donde el sultán musulmán fantaseaba con intimidad con la reina hindú, escenas que realmente nunca ocurrieron, todo fueron rumores, sin embargo grupos radicales siguieron causando violentos actos... Hoy en día, la película se puede encontrar en Prime Vídeo.
Volviendo al tema de la película, en lo que realmente se va a centrar la película es en que esta hermosa mujer padmavati está casada con el Rey Ratan, lo cual la convierte en Reina. Los rumores de su única belleza la convierten en el blanco de un sultán musulmán Alauddin, un hombre que se obsesiona con las cosas hermosas, ya que el mismo dice que todas las cosas hermosas las debe poseer él, entonces cuando escucha esta descripción de tal hermosa mujer, este se obsesiona con ella y decide tenerla, sin importar quien que se ponga en su camino, y la obsesión es tanta que incluso desata una guerra.

And one of the most memorable scenes happens at the end of the film, because this queen does not want anyone to lay hands on her, and not only that, she also decides to protect the women who accompany her, since she does not want any woman to be a slave, so she has proposed that they can all protect their honor by performing jauhar. And even though it is quite tragic, it is a decision that they made, taking control of their own lives.
Y una de las escenas bastante memorables, sucede ya al final de la película pues esta reina no desea que nadie ponga las manos encima de ella, y no solamente eso, también decide proteger a las mujeres que la acompañan, ya que no desea que ninguna mujer sea esclava, así que ha propuesto que todas puedan proteger su honor mediante la realización de jauhar. Y a pesar de que es bastante trágico, es una decisión que ellas tomaron, tomando el control de sus propias vidas
Tu reseña me pareció tan interesante que hasta me dieron muchas ganas de ver la película, aún y cuando yo no acostumbro a ver películas indias, sobre todo me llamó la atención el temple de la protagonista como para decidir inmolarse.
Sí, opino igual que tú, no me gusta ver películas indias porque son demasiado dramaticas, lol. Y los efectos especiales que le ponen, dan risa y uno no puede tomarse la película con seriedad.
Es una historia muy atrayente que me gustaría ver.
