Spaceman | Movie Review
Today we will talk about - S P A C E M A N - a movie that I was refusing to see because I didn't really trust it and surely there are many like me.
Let's see, why was I refusing? Because precisely this movie stars Adam Sandler, and don't take it the wrong way, but I love his comedy movies, but that's why it's hard for me to take this actor seriously because of his entire career and I thought that this movie simply wasn't going to work but I decided to take a look at it, and today I understood that, how horrible it must be to be pigeonholed in a category and when you want to change or explore other places, people don't understand you and they don't want to take you seriously, which is what I was doing. I have realized that Adam is looking to be more serious in his work, participate in other projects that are not comedy, he wants to show his acting abilities and I think we all deserve to give him a chance.
Hoy hablaremos de - S P A C E M A N - una película que yo me estaba rehusando a ver porque realmente no confiaba en ella y seguramente hay muchos como yo.
Veamos, ¿Por qué yo me estaba rehusando? Porque precisamente está película está protagonizada por Adam Sandler, y no lo tomen a mal pero a mí me encantan sus películas de comedia, pero por eso mismo me cuesta tomarme en serio este actor por toda su trayectoria y pensé que esta película simplemente no iba a funcionar pero decidí echarle un vistazo, y hoy entendí que, qué horrible debe ser estar encasillado en una categoría y cuando quieres cambiar o explorar otros lugares, la gente no te entiende y no te quieren tomar en serio, que es lo que yo estaba haciendo. Me he dado cuenta que Adam está buscando ser más serio en su trabajo, participar en otros proyectos que no sean de comedia, quiere mostrar sus habilidades actorales y creo que todos merecemos darle una oportunidad.

Spaceman is based on a novel that has the same name, well, 'Spaceman of Bohemia' although I cannot contribute much to the criticism regarding the fidelity of the script to the novel because I have not read it, however, I will leave my opinion as it seemed to me, it wasn't long ago that it was released worldwide and I thought I wouldn't see it but here we are.
The setting of this film is located in the Czech Republic, we have our main protagonist Jakub, it is said that he was raised by his grandparents, he was a scientist and later became an astronaut.
Spaceman está basada en una novela que lleva el mismo nombre, bueno, 'Spaceman of Bohemia' aunque no puedo aportar mucho a las críticas con respecto a la fidelidad del guión con la novela porque no la he leído, sin embargo, voy dejando mi opinión de lo que me pareció, no hace mucho que se estrenó a nivel mundial y creí que no la vería pero aquí estamos.
El ambiente de esta película se ubica en la República Checa, tenemos a nuestro protagonista principal Jakub, se dice que fue criado por sus abuelos, era científico y posteriormente se convirtió en un astronauta.

I didn't really know what to expect from the movie and I thought it would be rubbish, however it was kind of sentimental. It seems that everything in this scenario that Jakub lives was created all in his head. The story takes us to Jakub who is on a mission in space completely alone, in the time where we are located 6 months have passed since he has been in space. Jakub has a wife and they are expecting a child, although he maintained daily communication, the space that separates them both is noticeable.
This story is about mental self-exploration, our feelings, memories, emotions, reflection. Jakub, without realizing it, was becoming more and more distant from his wife and being selfish, not because he was on an important mission but because it was something he had been doing for a long time without realizing it.
Realmente no sabía que esperar de la película y pensé que sería una basura, sin embargo fue algo sentimental. Pareciera que todo esté escenario que vive Jakub fuera creado todo en su cabeza. La historia nos lleva a un Jakub que está en una misión en el espacio completamente solo, en el tiempo donde nos ubicamos han pasado 6 meses desde que se encuentra en el espacio. Jakub tiene una esposa y esperan un hijo, a pesar de que mantenía una comunicación diaria, se nota el espacio que los separa a ambos.
Esta historia trata sobre la autoexploración mental, nuestro sentimientos, los recuerdos, emociones, la reflexión. Jakub, sin darse cuenta estaba alejándose cada vez más de su esposa y siendo egoísta, no porque estaba en una misión importante sino porque era algo que llevaba haciendo durante mucho tiempo sin darse cuenta.

I don't like that in this movie a kind of giant spider enters the scene, which is supposed to help Jakub realize that he has been being a selfish human, because supposedly this spider can enter Jakub's memories and makes him meditate on his own life... However, to me it seemed like something that was in his mind or that we couldn't tell if it was real or not, and it is something that Jakub himself explains when trying to name it 'Hanus' , so it leaves me with that doubt.
No me gusta que en esta película entra en escena una especie de araña gigante, que es la que se supone ayuda a Jakub a darse cuenta de que ha estado siendo un humano egoísta, pues supuestamente está araña puede entrar en los recuerdos de Jakub y lo hace meditar sobre su propia vida... Sin embargo, a mí me pareció como algo que estuvo en su mente o que no sabíamos decir si fue real o no, y es algo que el mismo Jakub explica al tratar de ponerle el nombre de Hanus, entonces me deja con esa duda.

But beyond this big spoiler that I just made, if you haven't seen it... I understand the message of the movie and I didn't think it was a bad movie, in certain parts. I understand, the invitation is towards personal reflection, towards those decisions that we are making in our lives, thinking about how it will affect our future, if we are making a good decision or if we will not be leaving aside something that seemed very important to us.
Pero más allá de este gran spoiler que acabo de hacer, si es que no la has visto... Entiendo el mensaje de la película y no me pareció una mala película, en ciertas partes. Entiendo, la invitación es hacia la reflexión personal, hacia esas decisiones que estamos tomando en nuestras vidas pensar en como afectará nuestro futuro, si estamos tomando una buena decisión o si no estaremos dejando de lado algo que nos parecía muy importante.
I was also skeptical seeing Adam Sandler play this role we rarely see him play. I love Adam in his comedy movies.
However, he didn't disappoint in this movie, and I love space related movies.

Idk why, but I hated this film. It stands out as my least favorite Adam Sandler film of all time.
Lol, I didn't hate it but surely was hard trying to take seriously the character. Plus that tarantula, lol.

Además comparto tu pensamiento que es difícil ver a Adám en otro género fuera de la comedia así que cuesta
Es que el hombre tantos años dedicándose al mismo género... Pero, es una película que te da un buen mensaje, que aprendamos a cuidar de quienes más amamos
This movie got a lot of flack from reviewers and a lot of people just flat-out didn't like it. I thought it was really good and I appreciate Sandler's serious roles.
Indeed! He is trying to show that he can do other serious roles.
