The Fall of the House of Usher | Mini Series review
The Fall of the House of Usher is fantastic. This is a mini series that I had on my list and I hadn't had enough time to watch it, yet it still took me a week to watch it because I could only enjoy one episode at a time. It consists of 8 episodes and each of them has an average duration of 1 hour of pure entertainment.
La caída de la casa de Usher, es fantástica. Esta es una mini serie que tenía en mi lista y no había tenido el tiempo suficiente para verla, aún así me tomó una semana verla porque solamente podía saborear un capítulo a la vez. Consta de 8 episodios y cada uno de ellos tiene una duración promedio de 1 hora de puro entretenimiento.

To start it is important to mention that this beautiful work comes from one of Edgar Allan Poe's stories that has the same name, although the story is not faithfully as in the story, but this does not detract from the merits of his works and it seems an appropriate tribute to his gothic and horror stories due to all the references that the author himself managed to create, not only is it based on a single story in particular but also quotes and recreates other works by this author such as the famous poem The Raven, as well as the poem “The Spirits of the Dead”, “The Black Cat” and more. The truth is that this is a complete delight to see and hear.
Para empezar un poco es importante mencionar que esta obra tan preciosa viene de uno de los cuentos de Edgar Allan Poe que lleva el mismo nombre, aunque la historia no es fielmente como en el cuento, pero esto no le quita méritos a sus obras y me parece un homenaje adecuado a sus cuentos góticos y de terror por todas las referencias que el mismo autor logró crear, no solamente se basa en un solo cuento en particular sino también cita y recrea otras obras de este autor como el famoso poema "El Cuervo", así como también el poema “Los espíritus de los muertos”, “el gato negro” y más. La verdad esto es una completa delicia de ver y escuchar.
If you haven't read any of this author's works, don't worry, you can still enjoy this mini series and it may motivate you to read a little and research this author. Also, I'm going to give you a small introduction of what is seen in this series.
Just as it is told in his story, we start with a man, who is invited to an old house, and this character is nothing more than an old acquaintance of Roderick Usher, and yes, the house belongs to the Ushers, it is the house from their childhood.
Si no has leído alguna de las obras de este autor, no te preocupes, igualmente puedes disfrutar de esta mini serie y quizá te motive a leer un poco e investigar sobre este autor. Además, te voy a dar una pequeña introducción de lo que se ve en esta serie.
Al igual que como se relata en su cuento empezamos por un hombre, el cual es invitado a una vieja casa, y este personaje no es más que un viejo conocido de Roderick Usher, y sí, la casa pertenece a los Usher, es la casa de su infancia.
Roderick says that he has a confession to make but before he gets his confession he first has to tell his story. The story of a man and a woman hungry for power, brothers united by blood who have come into this world together and from which they will also leave together.
Roderick dice que tiene una confesión por hacer pero antes de que llegué su confesión primero tiene que contar su historia. La historia de un hombre y una mujer hambrientos de poder, hermanos unidos por la sangre que han venido juntos a este mundo y del cuál también se irán juntos.

To tell this story well you have to go back years and this will be revealed episode after episode, since each one of them mixes the present with a little of the past. And what they are going to show us are the true foundations of the house of Usher. Well, it is built on a pile of corpses, an infinite ambition, of deceptions, of emptiness and how little by little it crumbles until it reaches each of the Ushers. Even the devil himself is impressed by this family and their great ambition.
Para contar esta historia bien hay que ir hasta años atrás y esto se irá revelando episodio tras episodio, pues cada uno de ellos mezcla la actualidad con un poco del pasado. Y lo que nos van a mostrar son los verdaderos cimientos de la casa Usher. Pues, está levantada sobre una pila de cadáveres, una ambición infinita, de engaños, de vacíos y como poco a poco se va desmoronando hasta alcanzar a cada uno de los Usher. Hasta el mismísimo diablo queda impresionado de esta familia y su gran ambición.
I don't want to be a spoilsport, but I won't continue to reveal the details, it's very good, I think it's worth watching. Criticizing this work is not for everyone, because to give a review you must be an expert in Edgar's works, as I said before, it is full of references to his works, it is all you will see, so many of its scenes you think that they don't make any sense, they do, even if they are disordered, in the end everything fits together, this makes it very complex but also very good.
No quiero ser una aguafiestas, pero ya no seguiré relevando los detalles, es muy buena, me parece la pena verla. Criticar esta obra no es para cualquiera, pues para dar una crítica debes ser un conocedor de las obras de Edgar, como dije anteriormente, está repleta de referencias de sus obras, es todo lo que verás, por lo que muchas de sus escenas piensas que no tienen ningún sentido, sí lo tienen, aunque estén desordenadas, al final todo encaja, esto lo hace muy compleja pero también muy buena.
Me da curiosidad, más por el formato corto y la duración. Soy de esos que no ven cosas muy largas. Últimamente, he estado explorando series o film que no sean muy largos para ver en mis tiempos libres. No he leído el libro… : *)
