[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] Bad Boys: Ride or Die
Welcome my dear travelers in the Internet and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, many times to give continuation to Sagas Retro does not usually end in the best way, however, there are some exceptions to the rule such as the tape that today gathers us entitled "Bad Bad Boys: Ride or Die" which brings back to the dynamic duo in a fourth installment that promises to maintain the formula of its predecessors and expand the saga in a good way. Bienvenidos mis queridos policías viajeros del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, muchas veces el darle continuación a sagas retro no suele terminar de la mejor forma, sin embargo, hay algunas excepciones a la regla como lo es la cinta que hoy nos reúne titulada "Bad Boys: Ride or Die" la cual trae de vuelta al dúo dinámico en una cuarta entrega que promete mantener la fórmula de sus predecesoras y ampliar de buena forma la saga. Sin más que agregar preparanse para disparar y después preguntar pues estamos por comenzar.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die was released in 2024, directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, produced by Columbia Pictures, Jerry Bruckheimer Films & Sony Pictures, has a duration of 1 hour and 55 minutes. It is an action and comedy tape, the story focuses again on Mike and Marcus, this time they run into the fact that their captain is being accused of corrupt after having died, the duo doubts the legitimacy of these accusations so they are preparing to thorough The law, having to make a decision that will cause many difficulties to both of them and their loved ones.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die fue estrenada en 2024, dirigida por Adil El Arbi y Bilall Fallah, producida por Columbia Pictures, Jerry Bruckheimer Films & Sony Pictures, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 55 minutos. Es una cinta de acción y comedia, la historia enfoca nuevamente a Mike y Marcus, en esta oportunidad se topan con el hecho de que su capitán está siendo acusado de corrupto después de haber muerto, el dúo duda de la legitimidad de esas acusaciones por lo que se disponen a investigar a fondo el asunto, no obstante, el nivel de corrupción es bastante elevado por lo que terminan siendo fugitivos y viéndose en la necesidad de investigar el caso fuera de la ley, debiendo tomar una decisión que les ocasionará muchas dificultades tanto a ellos como a sus seres queridos.

The soundtrack is pleasant, the same is what is expected in this type of films by containing musical pieces that wonderfully accompany the different action sequences. It is necessary to make an honorable mention to the main theme of the saga, being that in this installment it is not only present as the main accompaniment but is mentioned several times as something important and representative for the characters.
La banda sonora es agradable, la misma es lo que se espera en este tipo de filmes al contener piezas musicales que acompañan de forma maravillosa a las diferentes secuencias de acción. Es menester hacer una mención honorífica al tema principal de la saga, siendo que en esta entrega no solo se encuentra presente como acompañamiento principal sino que se le menciona en varias ocasiones como algo importante y representativo para los personajes.
The construction of the world does not have much to contribute, it is typical in these films, a society in which there is an organized crime that moves the threads in different situations, I would like to extend this point more but that is all that this section offers. What is remarkable are the camera angles that are excellently achieved, this reaches such a point that at a given time an angle is added in the first person that fits spectacularly with the unbridled moment of action.
La construcción de mundo no tiene mucho que aportar, es lo típico en estos filmes, una sociedad en la cual hay un crimen organizado que mueve los hilos en diferentes situaciones, me gustaría extender más este punto pero eso es todo lo que ofrece este apartado. Lo que sí es destacable son los ángulos de cámara que están excelentemente logrados, esto llega a tal punto que en un momento dado incluso es añadido un ángulo en primera persona que encaja de forma espectacular con el momento de acción desenfrenada.
The plot is expected, from the Vamos it is known that a film of this saga is full of lead, betrayals, action sequences and more lead. I already said lead? Well, it has and enough. Narratively there is not much to highlight, it is a simple concept that appeals to the style over the substance, to some extent the premise feels generic, however, the fact that it is added very typical elements of this saga make everything feel more interesting, this also affects positively in its duration and makes it more enjoyable.
La trama es lo esperable, desde el vamos se sabe que un filme de esta saga se encuentra repleto de plomo, traiciones, secuencias de acción y más plomo ¿Ya dije plomo? Pues tiene y bastante. Narrativamente no hay mucho que destacar, es un concepto simple que apela al estilo por sobre la sustancia, hasta cierto punto la premisa se siente genérica, no obstante, el hecho de que se le añadan elementos muy propios de esta saga hacen que todo se sienta más interesante, esto también repercute positivamente en su duración y la hace más disfrutable.
Surprisingly, this section has some relevance in the film, this is seen in both protagonists; In the case of Mike for the demons he has been facing since the past delivery, the most interesting is undoubtedly, with this I do not mean that he has a highly deep and complex background, however, he has some air that makes him feel much more human and striking; Marcus for his part has his kind of catharsis due to his apparent death, does not leave him as the most interesting character although at least he allows moments of very entertaining comedy and action. The villain is all how generic and boring that it could become, nothing to highlight about this since it is quite forgettable, the rest of the characters are inconsequential in the same way, with the exception of Reggie, it is simply wonderful the outcome that is given to this character that has been in the whole saga, had its deserved moment of glory (in fact, it is because of its scene for what I decided to see this film).
Sorprendentemente, este apartado tiene algo de relevancia en el filme, esto se ve en ambos protagonistas; en el caso de Mike por los demonios que lleva afrontando desde la entrega pasada es sin lugar a dudas el más interesante, con esto no quiero decir que tenga un trasfondo altamente profundo y complejo, no obstante, tiene cierto aire que lo hace sentir mucho más humano y llamativo; Marcus por su parte tiene su especie de catarsis por su aparente muerte, no lo deja como el personaje más interesante aunque por lo menos permite añadir momentos de comedia y acción muy entretenidos. El villano es todo lo genérico y aburrido que pudo llegar a ser, nada que destacar sobre este puesto que es bastante olvidable, el resto de personajes son intrascendentes de igual forma, con la excepción de Reggie, es simplemente maravilloso el desenlace que se le da a este personaje que ha estado en toda la saga, tuvo su merecido momento de gloria (De hecho, es por su escena por lo que decidí ver este filme).
Bad Boys: Ride or Die is what you can expect from an action and comedy film, it fulfills what promises and remains faithful to its origins, there is not much more to say, it is not a work of art and has sections that are poorly developed, however, the being style on substance makes it quite enjoyable being the reason why several of their shortcomings can be ignored. It is for all the above that deserves 3.5 stars of 7, although its premise is quite simple, it is undeniable the fact that it is entertaining from the beginning to the end, so it is worth it at least to give it a chance.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die es lo que puedes esperar de un filme de acción y comedia, cumple con lo que promete y se mantiene fiel a sus orígenes, no hay mucho más para decir, no es una obra de arte y tiene apartados que son poco desarrollados, no obstante, el ser estilo sobre sustancia hace que la misma sea bastante disfrutable siendo esta la razón por la que se pueden obviar varias de sus carencias. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 3.5 estrellas de 7, si bien su premisa es bastante simple, es innegable el hecho de que es entretenida desde el principio hasta el final, por ello que vale la pena por lo menos darle una oportunidad.

STOPTo me this film seemed like a cash handout to Martin Lawrence, who time has not been very kind to as far as his physical state or his career is concerned. Apparently he lost a bunch of weight for this role and that just makes me wonder how fat and out of shape the guy must have gotten because he was pretty darn fat for this one even after the weight loss.
No idea how much that actor weighed, from the previous film it is seen that it has been in a deplorable physical condition for a long time, perhaps that is why his character had a turn with respect to that issue and the need to improve his physical condition for health issues, it was anyway, the character grabs this change well and I incorporate it in good form both at the level of characterization and comic.
