Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros del internet amantes del suspenso y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, hay directores que ya tienen una fama consolidada debido a sus obres siendo Guillermo del Toro uno de esos privilegiados, es por ello que cuando hace un tiempo vi una reseña sobre una serie producida por él la cual lleva su nombre "Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities" no pude resistirme a darle un vistazo y ver que contenían dichas curiosidades. Sin más que agregar prepárense para explorar cada rincón de un gabinete.

Por supuesto, existen sus contrapartes completamente genéricas y aburridas que son tediosas de ver y que solo generan el deseo de que termine pronto de lo aburridas que son, con historias sumamente predecibles y demasiado patéticas como para desarrollar una narrativa decente.

Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities es una serie a tomar en cuenta, si bien ninguno de sus capítulos genera verdadero terror si hay muchos que generan una incomodidad muy palpable en el espectador bien sea por la premisa o por los temas secundarios que se encuentran presentes en las mismas, siendo los capítulos 4, 5 y 8 de lo mejor que tiene. El asunto está en que tiene capítulos que son completamente olvidables y bastante nefastos que son bastante sosos en general. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 3.5 estrellas de 7, si bien tiene episodios insípidos sigue siente una serie decente de suspenso que cumple decentemente con lo que promete.

Yo tenía expectativas muy altas para esta serie y debo decir que me decepcionó bastante. Como dices, tuvo varios capítulos bastante malos, predecibles y sin sentido. Lo único bueno es que como eran episodios antológicos, tuvimos la oportunidad de ver algunos buenos. Me pasó lo mismo con la serie de Junji Ito que también sacó Netflix.

Para mi la mayor decepción fue que no hubiese ningún capítulo dirigido por Guillermo del Toro, era una de las cosas que más esperaba y que no sucedió. También me pareció un desatino, no sé por qué se limitó a simplemente producir. Yo cuando vi que salió pensé que él sería el director, una decepción total.

Es extraño, por lo general se tiene un director para una temporada para que haya coherencia. Pero de esta manera en que está desarrollada esta idea, habrá siempre un cambio en cada capítulo.
¿Puede servir para decidir a quién escoger en un proyecto a futuro o fue un experimento?, como sea es una propuesta interesante.
Pienso que lo que comentas es totalmente acertado, al darles un concepto a distintos directores y ver quién lo desarrolla mejor, se genera un filtro para ver quién logra destacar, un concepto interesante que da resultados tanto agradables como mediocres.
