ARE YOU A BULLY?

Bullying, also known as taunting, is a terrible case. Many who are fond of this habit do not know the damage they are causing to their future.

Many who have been bullied in the past are still living in fear as a result of the traumas they passed through. They have allowed their bullies to go scot-free. While some stand at the edge of vengeance. No matter how long they have been bullied, they always think of how to take revenge on those who have bullied them.

Have you been bullied before?
Are you a bully?

I am not a fan of Yoruba movies but whenever I come across the ones that arouse my interest I always give it full concentration.

I heard my kids laughing out loudly with their friends in the parlor when I was coming in from outside.
I asked;

Why are you all laughing?

They all answered and said I should sit down and watch along with them.

The title of the movie is "The Return".

Tayo, a brilliant boy, had a friend called Sholape.
Tayo and Sholape attended the same school and were in the same class.
Sholape loved to bully Tayo because Tayo was not as smart as he was and he was not bold, too.

Iremide was a girl in the same class as they were.
Tayo fell in love with Iremide but he did not have the boldness to profess his love for her. Tayo told his friend Sholape to talk to Iremide on his behalf but instead, Tayo went ahead and told her that he was in love with her. That was how Sholape and Iremide started their love journey.

So many times Sholape and Iremide would make jest at Tayo and would always bully him.

One day, Sholape gave a stolen wristwatch to Tayo to keep for him and claimed that the wristwatch belonged to him when the principal asked him about the wristwatch.

The principal started looking for the wristwatch and Iremide bore a false witness against Tayo about the wristwatch.

Tayo was not allowed to explain himself and the principal passed his judgment on Tayo that he should be rusticated from the school, and called him a criminal.

After many years, they are all fully grown.
The payback time came and Tayo promised himself that he was going to pay Sholape back in his coin.

Sholape received a call from his childhood friend. Tayo informed him that he would be coming over to his place and Sholape agreed with his friend.

At the arrival of Tayo, Sholape introduced his fiance (Abike) to his friend without knowing the intention of his friend.

Sholape has a sister named Shade. Shade came to visit during the time Tayo was with her brother.

In fulfillment of Tayo's mission for revenge, he impregnated Shade, his friend's sister. He also did the same to Iremide the girl he fell in love with, and also bears false witness against him and Abike, his friend's fiance.

He told them not to abort the pregnancy else they would be jailed.
He asked his friend how did he feel about everything.
He then discloses his mission for coming to his house.
Then, the movie came to an end.

I learned a lot from this movie.
