π€ Black Mirror πͺ The First Popular Show I've Liked In Years π¬
It seems like the last tv series I followed and enjoyed was "The Office (USA)," but finally I have found a show on Netflix worth my time.
Black Mirror π Sci-Fi Dystopia Done Right
Β Β Β Not sure how I stumbled upon this Netflix series, but I often browse for 5 or 10 minutes and then just leave Netflix and find more appealing things on YouTube. The titles and descriptions of shows have never interested me in years, and the only stuff I ever watch on Netflix are true-crime and history documentaries. I have also watched several newer dystopian movies and tv series over the years, but most of the time this genre is not executed well.
Β Β Β Black Mirror didn't jump out at me as a title, but after reading a bit and seeing this series featured different actors in each episode and that the main theme was fictional dystopian tech and A.I. scenarios, I was quite interested. There are 6 seasons as of now, and the 1st episode of the 1st season features a Prime Minister seemingly forced to have s*x with a pig on LIVE television to free a hostage, but I won't give too many details in case you want to watch and don't like spoilers.
Β Β Β Some of the episodes are downright uncomfortable to watch, but definitely worth the experience. Many of the fictional circumstances and problems the characters face in these mostly sub 1-hour episodes feel a little too possible with the direction technology is moving. After finishing all the episodes currently on Netflix, I am left with a feeling that A.I. and other tech advancements will deliver us problems that we humans may not be able or willing to take on.

Black Mirror is one of my favorite shows of all time. The earlier seasons are some of the best tv ever.
Another show worth checking out that I watched right around the same time as Black Mirror is something called Altered Carbon. I could recommend dozens and dozens of shows, but Altered Carbon is one that I felt was very similar to Black Mirror. So maybe work on Black Mirror and then once youβre finished with that move onto Altered Carbon.
I had never heard of the show at all until I noticed 6 seasons on Netflix. Not sure if that is fortunate or unfortunate, but I much prefer the ability to bingewatch versus having to wait for each episode to appear. Haven't heard of Altered Carbon, but the Adjective + Noun combo sure feels a lot like Black Mirror, I'll have to check it out.

I will take this as a summary and digest it, and forget it. No time to watch, not even porn π
ahaha win
Haha, I understand, I have been really busy lately too. I mostly listen to Netflix stuff as if it were podcasts, but Black Mirror is good enough that I've taken the time to physically watch most of it. Hang in there bro, I know you're busy and the new job isn't exactly as you'd hoped.
Yeah, I really liked the first four seasons of Black Mirror when it was under the UK production company. I think it lost some of its magic once Netflix took over. The latest season looks like it is returning to its roots a bit.
I didn't know this detail. Now looking back on all the seasons I do notice some stylistic and creative differences. I guess the show became so popular Netflix made an offer that couldn't be refused.
I ll try to check it later . its look promosing . Thanks for sharing :).
Very relevant to many of us because we are on the blockchain, and the show is all hi-tech dystopian scenarios.
I quite like this show as well. I can see that you have featured the one where the guy goes in for video game testing.. that one was awesome.
Yep, I remember that one, don't know the episode title, but that was one of the very disturbing episodes.
My wife and I tapped out of this series, and I think it's because of the creepy quasi-realism that you can see coming in the future. The "memory-husband" was extremely heartbreaking to me to think about from my perspective because I feel that I would do the exact same thing as portrayed in the series.
Yeah, not sure if I would call the whole series "fun" to watch, some of the episodes are a bit like watching a train wreck, can't take your eyes away despite the disturbing nature of the situation. Yeah, the memory transplant episode was hard for me to finish. Not sure if I will ever re-watch any of these, but I don't regret watching once through.
It looks interesting. This is one of my favorite themes as well. Thanks for sharing this one. God bless.
Yes, worth watching, but some episodes are very disturbing.
Reviewed and Approved for an Ecency boost. Keep up the good work!

Dystopian sci-fi? I guess you weren't aware of the fact that Black Mirror is actually reality TV. Amazing show indeed!
Haha, like the movie Idiocracy, it became a documentary after about twenty years. Black Mirror will cause us to look back from the future and be amazed at how right we were about future predictions. The 1950s vision of the future was all too perfect, it never materialized.
