When Evil Lurks Review/ Recenzja
Evil is contamination, evil is like oil spreads slowly, evil comes closer and closer poisoning the hosts(my interpretation)
In a small sleepy town, two brothers find a corpse and a document that leads them to an old woman.
Director Damian Rugna creates a great film that keeps you in suspense and manages to surprise you when you least expect it.
You can see here a well-thought-out script and a fine-tuning of the story so that there are no logical errors, so that as viewers we savor the screening, knowing that the characters do not behave like puppets, but more like flesh and blood people with their thoughts and behavior.
The film is a horror film with a slight addition of folklore and beliefs thanks to this it takes the whole thing even more dark atmosphere.
There are no fancy monsters in this film, the director focused on portraying evil in such a way that it is as invisible as possible, thanks to this we feel the growing tension and fear of what will happen in a few moments.
The horror film rearranges the town's beliefs and the consequences of what might happen.
A good and interesting solution is the seemingly blah enumeration that appears in the film describes what the characters are supposed to do to survive.
Two brothers have to put a lot of things on the line to save their loved ones. However, evil will not give up easily.
A great asset is also the way the film is shot, you can feel the anxiety from the first second, even though we don't see much of it, the characters keep building tension, thanks to which the finale is satisfying.
The evil that has been outraged will cause confusion not only for the brothers, but also for others, and any violation of the rules (enumeration) will cause death.
Interestingly, this is one of the few films where the priest does not interfere in any possession, and the very course of the possession and the attempt to defeat the evil is replaced here by a completely different character with a special "weapon".
The film is worth watching, it is something completely different from what we know, you can feel a fresh idea here, which is not tainted by a billion other horror films.
The director had a longer break, but as you can see it did him good he came back, a brilliantly realized and polished film that scares what people like to see in a horror film.
The film doesn't focus on jumspacers, there are virtually none, it focuses more on telling the story knowing that the characters and the actions scare the viewer more than something popping up on the screen.
One of the most interesting horror films of this year and probably even of recent years ( as good as the new Dead Evil).
8/10 worth watching and feel this sleepy town, and two brothers who have to fight an unequal battle with Evil
Zło jest skażeniem, zło jest jak ropa rozprzestrzenia się powoli, zło zbliża się coraz bardziej trując gospodarzy(moja interpretacja)
W małym sennym miasteczku dwóch braci znajdują zwłoki i dokument, który prowadzi ich do starej baby. Kiedy dowiadują sie, ze denat,, miał za zadanie zabic syna, który jest opętany, będą musieli stoczyć bardzo nierówna walkę.
Reżyser Damian Rugna tworzy świetny film, który trzyma w napięciu i potrafi zaskoczyć w najmniej spodziewanym momencie.
Widać tutaj przemyślany scenariusz i dopracowanie historii tak by nie było błędów logicznych, dzięki temu jako widzowie delektujemy się seansem, wiedząc, ze bohaterowie nie zachowują się jak pacynki, a bardziej ludzie z krwi i kości ze swoimi przemyśleniami i zachowaniem.
Film jest horrorem z lekkim dodatkiem folku i wierzeń dzięki temu nabiera całość jeszcze bardziej mrocznej atmosfery.
Nie ma w tym filmie żadnych wymyślnych potworów, reżyser skupił się na tym by ukazać zło tak by był jak najmniej widoczny, dzięki temu czujemy narastające napięcie i strach co wydarzy się za chwile.
Horror przestawia wierzenie miasteczka oraz konsekwencje tego co się może wydarzyć.
Dobrym i ciekawym rozwiązaniem jest na pozór blacha wyliczanka, która pojawia się w filmie opisuje co maja zrobić bohaterowie by przeżyć.
Dwóch braci musza postawić wiele rzeczy na szali by uratować najbliższych. Jednak zło łatwo nie da za wygrane.
Dużym atutem jest również to jak jest nakręcony film czuć tutaj niepokój od pierwszej sekundy mimo, ze niewiele widzimy to bohaterowie cały czas budują napięcie dzięki temu finał satysfakcjonuje.
Zło jakie zostało oburzone spowoduje zamęt nie tylko u braci, ale i innych, a każde złamanie reguł (wyliczanki) spowoduje smierć.
Co ciekawe to jeden z nielicznych filmów gdzie ksiądz nie ingeruje w żadne opętanie, a sam przebieg opętania i próba pokonania zła jest tutaj zastąpiona całkiem inna postacią ze specjalna „bronią”
Film warto obejrzeć, jest to coś zupełnie innego niż znamy, czuć tutaj świeży pomysł, który nie jest skażony miliardem innych horrorów.
Reżyser miał dłuższa przerwę, ale jak widać dobrze mu ona zrobiła wrócił, swietnie zrealizowanym i dopracowanym filmem, który straszy tym co ludzie lubią oglądać w horrorze.
Film nie skupia się na jumspacrach, nie ma ich praktycznie wcale, bardziej skupia się na opowiedzeniu historii wiedząc, ze bohaterowie oraz czyny bardziej wystrasza widza niż coś wyskakującego na ekranie.
Jeden z najciekawszych horrorów tego roku i zapewne nawet ostatnich lat ( równie dobry jak nowe Martwe Zło)
8/10 warto obejrzeć i poczuć to senne miasteczko, oraz dwóch braci którzy musza stoczyć nierówna walkę ze Złem
