Eat Drink Man Woman is a Taiwanese drama film directed by Ang Lee which tells the story of an elderly chef who has three daughters The story revolves around their daily lives their family relationships and the situations that happen between them The film combines cooking and philosophy about life and shows how food can be a language of communication between people
Characters
The main characters are made very realistically The father who was a professional chef suffers from loss of taste but this does not stop him from preparing fabulous meals every week for his family The three daughters each one has a different story from emotional problems to difficult life decisions and this is what makes the film rich in emotions and human details.
The film is full of cooking scenes that will take you to another world The way they film food and cooking makes you really feel like you are sitting at the dining table with them Food in the film is not just something we eat but a symbol of communication and love and sometimes even conflicts between the characters.
