An action-packed movie with an ensemble cast will get my attention every time. In this fast-paced action comedy, the presence of Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock, Joey King, Michael Shannon and Hiroyuki Sanada means it's going to be an interesting ride! Well, I don't take trains because it's not a common mode of transportation in my country. But seeing how the whole thing works, my curiosity is piqued.

Adapted from Kōtarō Isaka’s 2010 novel titled Maria Beetle, Bullet Train (2022) is an action comedy that showcases the skill of David Leith as a stunt coordinator and filmmaker. It focuses on a former assassin code name, Ladybug (played by Brad Pitt) who fills in for another assassin by boarding a bullet train to steal a briefcase and get off along the way. He doesn't carry a gun because he's retired and recently returned from an anger management program.

Unknown to Ladybug, the whole train is packed with trained killers and criminals armed with guns, explosives, knives, swords and a deadly snake. No one knew that a criminal boss, the White Death, had orchestrated the trip so the passengers on board would fight to the death to avenge the death of his wife.

Ladybug sets the whole show in a thrilling motion when he snatches the suitcase containing money from where Lemon and Tangerine, assassins, had hidden it. Will anyone make it out alive at the end of this journey?

Review

Bullet Train is a delightful, fun and outrageous film. It's like this little world of crime featuring killers and assassins who are roped together in a revenge mastermind. One death becomes connected to another and another until the train is flowing with blood and dead bodies. The plot is compelling and the acting is excellent in my opinion. Themes like fate, Karma and luck are covered in this film.

For an action comedy movie of this sort, the pace should be fast and it is, which makes it exciting. The tension is palpable and the suspense is interesting. Viewers are pulled from one scene and before the dust settles are thrown into another. The visuals and cinematography make the watching experience better.

The action and fight sequences are impressive and feel original. The gore scenes are not much but the killings are grisly. It's like the director, David Leitch, regards killing and death with such fickleness that is alarming. I guess it's to bring out the humour.

The performances of the cast are simply excellent. Brad Pitt endeared hearts with his humour and his code name "Ladybug". I enjoyed the characters of Tangerine (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Lemon (Brian Tyree Henry). They are likeable. Their chemistry is smooth and their performance is entertaining. I think the Cockney accent also adds to the delight of their acting. The surprise appearances from Ryan Reynolds and Channing Tatum took my breath away. I didn't expect it. Also, Joey King pretending to be an innocent school girl but a badass in hiding is superb.

The scene I enjoyed the most is where Ladybug gets into a fight with The Hornet. Her deaths are gruesome because she owns a boomslang snake and uses its venom as her weapon. When a victim is injected with the venom, it takes effect in 30 seconds, causing the victims to bleed from their eyes. That's harsh. So it was gratifying to watch her die from her poison.

Overall, it's a fast-paced and gripping film. The performance is great and the viewing experience is exhilarating like being on a high-speed bullet train in Japan. I'll recommend it to action film lovers.

This was a wonderfulll movie! I enjoyed watching every bit of it. Let's not forget our little silly princess antagonist who got hit by a bus at the end😂. Reminds me of Ryan Reynolds in "The Hitman's Bodyguard" movie. This was a nice. Thank you for sharing.

Very silly indeed. Her innocence was a weapon just as she was good with explosives. I admire her in a way. I enjoyed the movie. Thanks so much for visit and comment. !LADY
