The Wheel Of Time (Season 2)

I accidentally stumbled upon this series a few years ago and the first season was phenomenal. I knew the second season came out at some point in 2023 and I gladly fitted the show into my watchlist, waiting for the moment when I would be in the right mood to watch something that's not a Kdrama.

That moment came a few weeks ago and I've been getting myself distracted by checking out other TvShows that I left off. As you would expect, this particular show is one of those.

Lovers of fantasy shows are getting spoilt for choice by this fantasy TvShow which is based on the book series by Robert Jordan. People who read the book will likely feel more chills about the show. However, I'm glad I didn't read that before stumbling on this. I enjoy going into TV shows without any clue of what to expect from the twists and turns that are used to thicken the plot of the show.

This particular one, The Wheel Of Time, hits hard with an interesting story in a fantasy-based world where some people have access to Magic. You know how it goes whenever something magical is involved; some groups want to use it for good and others want to use it to rain chaos. Moraine who set out on an adventure to save the world crossed paths with five friends who will be playing a big part in what she hopes to achieve.

She managed to bring them together in the first season, but this second season of the show brings an interesting twist to their story by drawing each of them apart to different parts of their fantasy world where they are faced with a series of life and death situations. Each of them also had to harness and embrace their power to survive the series of dangers that crossed paths with them in their journey.

While there is so much to enjoy about each of the major 6 or 7 characters in the first season of this season, this second season of the show introduces some iconic minor characters who had a huge presence whenever they had screen time. The one in the picture below is a typical example of one of those minor characters.

She's part of a group of foreign Slavers that travel around the fantasy world to capture people who can channel (use magic), enslave them, and "tame" them. They say they plan to unite all the diverse kingdoms under one singular ruler. But in reality, they are only interested in trapping those who have magic and using those people's power to rain chaos on any town they cross paths with.

The only thing you would likely detest about her group is the fact that they are "evil". That aside, they have a really admirable armor and they flex their magical power with so much splendor during battle. Haha. I can't get enough of that. They made this second season phenomenal.

The second season of the show ended with a cliffhanger which points to the coming of a third season. At the moment, there is no clear info about when we will be getting that. Perhaps, 2025 or thereabout.
