0.0MHZ: The frequency at which a person's soul meets a ghost

Greetings, movie lovers!

I came across this movie poster and it caught my attention instantly, especially with the physics-related title 0.0 Megahertz, which reminded me of my fondness for physics back in high school. Coupled with how freaky and ghostly the images appeared, I was immediately intrigued. I thought to myself, "What’s the relationship between hertz and the supernatural?"

I was curious to see the movie, although I assumed it might be one of those typical sci-fi ghost stories that most movies portray, which does not align with my understanding of the supernatural world. But to my surprise, this movie resonated very well with the kind of supernatural acts I believe in, making it a very entertaining watch for me—especially since I already had some clues about how ghosts operate.

0.0MHZ is a novel-writing club that doesn’t actually write novels but rather brings them to life as realistically as possible. In the year 2018, most of the members graduated and left the club, while new members Sang-yeop and So-hee joined. Their first project was a trip to investigate a ghost in an abandoned, haunted house on the outskirts of the city. Sang-yeop and So-hee were curious when they heard about the trip, and that’s when the meaning behind the name 0.0MHZ was explained to them: it’s the frequency at which a person’s soul meets a ghost. Crazy, isn’t it? They really took physics to another level. Lol.

They knew the house was haunted, which they had read about in stories, and they wanted to turn those stories into reality. Their goal was to scientifically prove the existence of ghosts using a method known as Necromancy. This was actually the first time I’d heard the word, so I did a quick Google search to understand it better.

So-hee, one of the two new members, comes from a shaman household where the ability to see ghosts is inherited by birth. She naturally sees spirits moving around—something normal people cannot see.
When they arrived at the house, she immediately sensed the presence of spirits and suggested that they abandon the Necromancy experiment. However, the group refused because they wanted video clips to support their story.

Did they succeed in getting what they went for?
Yes, they did—but the outcome took a major U-turn, which I’ll let you find out for yourself so I don’t spoil the story.

My Opinion and Ratings

The Storyline:
I absolutely loved the storyline. It was simple and easy to understand, with no brain-racking twists or confusing elements. The plot was straightforward and easy to grasp, although some major truths were revealed towards the end, which made it even more fun. I must applaud the producers for this.

The Characters:
Although there were only a few characters, they portrayed their roles impressively, and everything felt so real. So-hee, in particular—just looking at her innocent yet strange face—you could tell there was something unusual about her.

This intuition was confirmed toward the end when we learned she came from a shaman household.

Ghostly Displays and the Graphics:
Personally, I enjoy supernatural movies that align with the traditional portrayals I'm familiar with, and this one nailed it. The ghostly elements didn’t feel overly computer-generated—they felt real, especially the scenes where some characters were possessed without even knowing it. I also have to give credit for the genuinely scary moments that could make you jump out of your seat.

This is exactly the type of supernatural movie I like, and I would rate it 9/10. It would have been a perfect 10/10 if it had been made into a series, because I was left wanting more.

Oh, lest I forget—it’s a Korean movie released in 2019.

Now I’m thinking
If I apply this theory in real life will it give me the same result
I think ill add this to my list of watch

Yesss. I'm sure the result will be the same. They were able to detect the ghost by the frequency detection. It's just that it didn't end up the way they wanted

I also love supernatural movies too. I love watching movies like this as you'd learn something new. Imagine getting to add "Necromancy" to the list of new words for the day. That's like a knowledge added. Nice review 👌

Yeahhh. These kind of movies give me ideas on how different cultures see the other world.

The Necromancy world, I thought it was a made up word until I searched it on Google.
A very nice movie.
