Cuándo en mi cabeza decidí empezar a ver cine de todo tipo, supe que de alguna manera tenía que ver cine en blanco y negro. Muchas veces me dijeron que tenía que ver cine antiguo para apreciar bien el cine, y, aunque creo es mentira esa creencia, es cierto que el cine en blanco y negro tiene increíbles joyas (cosa que es obvio, la verdad) que pasan debajo de la mesa porque ya en estos años es difícil ver a alguien que se interese por ver una película en blanco y negro. No digo que esté mal, yo era así, pero tal vez después de estas recomendaciones pueda hacer que alguien le dé una primera o segunda oportunidad a esas películas que con solo audacia se volvieron un hito en la cultura del cine.

When in my head I decided to start watching films of all kinds, I knew that somehow I had to watch black and white cinema. Many times I was told that I had to see old movies to appreciate cinema well, and, although I think that belief is a lie, it is true that black and white cinema has incredible gems (which is obvious, the truth) that pass under the table because in these years it is difficult to see someone who is interested in watching a black and white film. I'm not saying it's wrong, I used to be like that, but maybe after these recommendations I can make someone give a first or second chance to those films that with just audacity became a milestone in film culture.

Esta película es increíblemente fácil de ver, y es tan fácil como entretenida y en serio, realmente buena. Doce hombres son reunidos en un cuarto para discutir la sentencia de una persona que, supuestamente, mató a alguien. Entre ellos tienen que decidir, bajo las evidencias que tienen, si esa persona es culpable o no. La película que ya en su solo concepto es increíble, tiene unas actuaciones que la hacen ser una de las mejores películas de la historia y si me preguntan a mí, es tan atemporal cómo el agua, ya que termina siendo una película que fácilmente podría ser una obra de teatro. Sin duda, una obra perfecta para ver en cualquier momento.

this movie is incredibly easy to watch, and it's as easy as it is entertaining and seriously, really good. Twelve men are gathered in a room to discuss the sentencing of a person who allegedly killed someone. Between them they have to decide, under the evidence they have, if that person is guilty or not. The film, which in its concept alone is incredible, has performances that make it one of the best films in history and if you ask me, it is as timeless as water, since it ends up being a film that could easily be a play. Undoubtedly, a perfect play to watch at any time.

Alfred Hitchcock es uno de los directores más respetados de toda la industria y no es para menos, sin duda su legado ha llegado al día de hoy a directores que son exponentes en lo que hacen gracias a su influencia, y todas sus películas (por lo menos, todas las que he visto) son una prueba del porqué Alfred Hitchcock eran tan mundialmente reconocido. Yo vi Psycho porque en mi adolescencia era fanático de Bates Motel, pero la verdad es que ahora la recomiendo no solo porque es, realmente, una película sorprendente y un antes y después en el género del terror, sino porque también es fácil de encontrar, ya que es una de esas grandes joyas que se consiguen en netflix.

Alfred Hitchcock is one of the most respected directors in the entire industry and no wonder, no doubt his legacy has reached today to directors who are exponents in what they do thanks to his influence, and all his films (at least, all the ones I've seen) are proof of why Alfred Hitchcock was so world renowned. I watched Psycho because in my teenage years I was a fan of Bates Motel, but the truth is that now I recommend it not only because it is, truly, an amazing film and a before and after in the horror genre, but also because it is easy to find, as it is one of those great gems you get on netflix.
C’mon C’mon
Bueno, la verdad es que esta película es sinceramente muy nueva. Es una película de 2021 con Joaquin Phoenix de protanogista, pero al pensar en la belleza que te puede entregar el cine en blanco y negro, por un momento, entre muchas películas, pensé en esta hermosa película sobre un adulto y un niño siendo vulnerables. Una hermosa película para mejorar los lazos familiares y mejorar los lazos contigo mismo, siendo también hermosa en su fotografía y con un Joaquin Phoenix imperdible. El hecho de que haya escogido esta película por sobre otras es mucho que decir, pero lo que me queda en mi mente es obvio, tengo que seguir recomendando películas en blanco y negro, porque hay cierta belleza en lo opaco, en lo antiguo, en lo monocromático.

Well, the truth is that this film is honestly very new. It's a film from 2021 with Joaquin Phoenix as the main character, but in thinking about the beauty that black and white cinema can give you, for a moment, among many films, I thought of this beautiful film about an adult and a child being vulnerable. A beautiful film about improving family bonds and improving bonds with yourself, being also beautiful in its cinematography and with an unmissable Joaquin Phoenix. The fact that I chose this film over others is a lot to say, but what sticks in my mind is obvious, I have to keep recommending black and white films, because there is a certain beauty in the dull, in the old, in the monochromatic.
