Sometimes it seems that misfortune follows certain people or it may even seem that misfortune follows some families or that they are victims of some kind of curse. Misfortune seems to have long followed the Von Erich family.

The Iron Claw, is a biographical drama that focuses on the Von Erich family, a professional wrestling dynasty that dominated the wrestling circuit for a long time or at least tried to stay on top of the wrestling game. The film, starring Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White and Lily James, explores the ups and downs of fame, family pressure and the dark side of success.

The movie focuses on the family drama and the relationship that the Von Erich brothers had especially Kevin (Zac Efron) and Kerry (Jeremy Allen White), who were almost forced to follow their father's legacy in wrestling, many times it feels as if the father lived through his sons and tried to achieve what he couldn't through them. From there you see the drama and hardships that the boys have to face from a very young age that their father manipulated and mistreated to lead them to the path he wanted.

There are very interesting aspects of the film, such as the characters who are very well developed, each with their problems and their demons, with their complexities and their flaws. While one is the more talented, extroverted but tormented by drugs, the other is much more introverted and trying to escape his family or the curse it seems to have.

We can even other brothers who just isn't interested in wrestling at all who wants to find his place in the world and wants to stay away from the gyms, but is forced to wrestle because his father almost forces him to get in the ring to wrestle.

Well moving a little we must say that the visual style of the film is a delight, I say that the image and many of the shots are shocking perhaps lies in the simple, but direct to the point that the director wants to show, while it is true that has some camera movements that are quite good or at least complies with the narrative and not that the director wants to exaggerate, but it does the job.

The soundtrack does a job that goes according to the film and according to the moments of it, the truth is that it does not clash at any time, but helps and raises the tension according to the occasion or simply accompanies in the sad times of the film.

It must be said that this is the best work of Zac Efron so far, is the most serious work and with the highest level that he has done, it must be said that having started his career as a youth actor and comedy had nothing and serious and could not be considered a good actor, but here he has left us silent to many, that, without being the mega performance of him, it is certainly the best work to date.

Well to conclude The Iron Claw is a highly recommended must see movie, I would give it a rating of 7.4/10. Fulfills his promise is very sad and shows you how tragic this family's life and career was.

The Iron Claw, es un drama biográfico que se centra en la familia Von Erich, una dinastía de luchadores profesionales que dominó el circuito de la lucha libre por mucho tiempo o al menos se intentó mantener en la mejor posición en el ramo de la lucha. La película, protagonizada por Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White y Lily James, explora los altibajos de la fama, la presión familiar y el lado oscuro del éxito.

La película se centra en el drama familiar y en la relación que tenían los hermanos Von Erich especialmente Kevin (Zac Efron) y Kerry (Jeremy Allen White), quienes fueron casi forzados a seguir el legado de su padre en la lucha, muchas veces se siente como si el padre vivió a través de sus hijos e intento lograr lo que no pudo a través de ellos. De ahí se ve el drama y las dificultades que tienen que afrontar los chicos desde muy pequeños a los que su padre manipuló y maltrató para llevarlos al camino que este quería.

Hay aspectos muy interesantes de la película, como los personajes que están muy bien desarrollados, cada uno con sus problemas y sus demonios, con sus complejidades y sus defectos. Mientras uno es el más talentoso, extrovertido pero atormentado por las drogas, el otro es mucho más introvertido y tratando de escapar de su familia o de la maldición que esta parece tener.

Incluso podemos a otros hermanos que simplemente no está interesado en la lucha para nada que quiere buscar su lugar en el mundo y que quiere estar alejado de los gimnasios, pero se ve obligado a luchar porque su padre casi que lo obliga a subirse al ring a luchar.

Bueno moviéndonos un poco hay que decir que el estilo visual de la película es un deleite, lo digo que la imagen y muchas de los planos son impactantes quizás radique en lo simple, pero directo al punto que el director quiere mostrar, si bien es verdad que tiene algunos movimientos de cámara que son bastantes buenos o al menos cumple con la narrativa y no es que el director quiera exagerar, pero cumple con el trabajo.

La banda sonora hace un trabajo que va a acorde con la película y acorde con los momentos de ella, la verdad es que no desentona en ningún momento, sino que ayuda y eleva la tensión de acuerdo a la ocasión o simplemente acompaña en los tiempos tristes del film.

Hay que decirlo es el mejor trabajo de Zac Efron hasta el momento, es el trabajo más serio y con mayor nivel que el haya hecho, hay que decir que por haber iniciado su carrera con un actor juvenil y de comedia no tenía nada y serio y no se le podía considerar con un buen actor, pero acá nos ha dejado callados a muchos, que, sin ser la mega actuación de él, sin duda es el mejor trabajo hasta la fecha.

Bueno para finalizar The Iron Claw es una película muy recomendada que debe de verla, yo le daría una calificación de 7.4/10. Cumple su prometido es muy triste y te enseña lo trágico que fue la vida y carrera de esta familia.
