Hi. Good day everyone.

Yesterday morning, I was going through the movies in my phone, deciding which to delete, because of my phone's memory storage.

Then I came across the Mufasa: The Lion King movie. This movie has been in my phone since January. I had refused to delete it, even after I was done watching it, knowing I'd want to rewatch the movie again.

Reason being because, I enjoyed, and loved it too much. Growing up, I was a huge fan of the 2019 animated Lion King movie

Mufasa: The Lion King is a 2024 Adventure/Musical movie. It is such a great movie, that I'd rate it a 8.5/10, and will highly recommend to anyone.

PLOT

Before Simba (Donald Glover), there was Mufasa (Aaron Pierre) simba's father, and also his brother, Taka aka Scar (Kelvin Harrison) story, the story that was being told by Rafiki(John Kani) to young kiara, with funny commentaries from pumbaa and Timon.

It tells the story of Mufasa, a young cub, who was separated from his parents by a great flood. Orphaned and lost, until he meets with Taka, son of Obasi, and Heir to a royal bloodline, who saved him from drowning, and gave him the opportunity to stay in their pride, even as a stray.

Mufasa and Taka grew closer with each passing day, considering and treating each other like brothers, the depth of their brotherly affection evident. But their bond is tested, and Taka's nature as a traitor is revealed.

A group of outsiders (outcasts) led by Kiros (Mads Mikkelsen), were out to kill every lion, so that, kiros would be the only lion king left.

Taka, motivated by his own ambitious, betrays Mufasa, and joined the outsiders, leading them to milele.

It lead to a confrontation between Kiros and Mufasa, and Taka is injured by kiros to save Mufasa.

Mufasa defeats kiros and the outsiders, with the help of the animals of milele, and earning their respect, he became their king.

Mufasa confronts Taka about his betrayal, and allows him to stay instead of banishing him, but refuses to use or say Taka's name anymore. Taka renames himself Scar.

MY TAKE

"Look at the stars, whenever you feel alone. The great Kings of the past would always be up there to guide you.... and so will I"
Okay, first off, kudos to the producers for such a beautiful opening to the movie

The film's realistic visuals, and emotional depth is something else, for real.

Like, every emotion/expression on the animals face were so beautifully captured.

It did not matter if there were walking, running, or even singing, everything looks so real.

And it looks so realistic whenever the camera shows the animals up close, the face especially.

The movie offered a stunning visual feast that was almost life-like, even from the opening scene, you'd already be visually captured.

There were so many exceptional scenes, from the flood that took Mufasa from his parents, to the waterfall, to the mountains, the snows, the earthquake, the giraffes, the elephants migration, so much more.

But more than just a dazzling CGI (computer generated imagery), the emotional heart of the movie were also captured, bringing the characters to life in ways that felt truly authentic and moving, that it was almost impossible not to be swept up in their emotions.

It made it easy for viewers to connect with the characters emotions throughout the movie.

And then the songs 😎😎💓

Would you believe me if I said I know all seven of the songs sang in the movie by heart, and have them downloaded on my phone? Well, I do. That's how much I love, and beautiful the music were. It's a movie with captivating soundtracks.

Normally, I love movies with lots of soundtracks in it, and the songs in this movie was just so narrative of how the characters were actually feeling, the songs didn't just serve as an entertainment.

The ones I love more are "I always wanted a brother", "Brother betrayed" I felt for Taka aka Scar so much here. Because, I actually do understand Taka, he was just heartbroken, but he made the wrong choice. And "Tell me it's you" if you get the lyrics of the song, you'll understand the depth of both Mufasa and Sarabi feelings for each other. I think Mufasa already liked Sarabi even before Taka told him he liked Sarabi, because of what he sang in the first verse of this song. Also "Bye bye"

And yes, like I said, I actually did understand, and felt Taka's pain. He felt heartbroken, and betrayed by his brother, his kin.

Mufasa knew Taka loved sarabi, so Taka didn't think Mufasa would betray him by wanting to be with sarabi.

But still, Taka felt entitled or something like that.

From the song "Brother betrayed" you'd find out that, Taka really did feel entitled, felt like Mufasa owes him everything, and should do whatever he wants, just because he saved Mufasa's life once when they were still cubs, forgetting the times Mufasa saved him, and also saved his mom, while he ran away like a coward.

And he also felt that because he is next in line (being of royal blood), sarabi should be his, should be his queen.

Taka was also jealous that Eshe, his mother, loved Mufasa more than him, and also, before he left his father, his father had finally acknowledged Mufasa because he saved Eshe.

And that's when Taka decided to join the outsiders and betray his brother, he remembered his father's last words to him "Deceit is the tool of a great king"

In all, it was a great movie.

The way they were able to connect the events and everything in this movie to the 2019 animated The Lion King was also great.

It's a movie with thrilling and compelling storyline. The 1hr 51min I used on this movie was definitely worth it. And it would definitely be worth your time also.
