Many times we can come across really strange movies or series and that after watching them despite feeling that there were good moments and really strong and interesting scenes, we are also left with a big doubt about what we are supposed to have just seen and what really happened, if additionally to this premise you add that it is a horror and mystery film which has a duration of less than 50 minutes, the result is a peculiar work, abstract and that will leave you with many questions when everything ends. Amrita no Kyouen is precisely this horror film that uses somewhat psychological elements and leaves you with a big doubt at the end.
This short story has as protagonists three young schoolgirls named Tamahi, Aki and Yu, who while returning late from classes see how in an apartment complex quite imposing in structure a woman's silhouette is observed on the roof and then let fall into the void, scared see how Tamahi being more altered than the others runs out of the building and they follow her inside and this will be a bad decision. This anime, although it can be considered more as a mystery and some horror and even gore, has an element of Isekai and this is because this building transports them to another desolate, terrifying, strange dimension with disturbing creatures.
Personally, the story advances extremely fast and creating more and more doubts as the plot progresses. Quickly we see how this building is a strange and demonic place where creatures and very dangerous specters inhabit, where they quickly kill one of the three girls and we see how they must flee from everything, at the same time creating more and more mysterious elements without much context as strange dimensions, the two girls are transported and then we see how Tamahi appears in different places from one moment to another, industrial elements that may suggest that everything is a failed experiment, and also events that can make you think that even everything is a dream.
To complete a rather confusing and unexpected story, it includes several elements similar to time travel or at least it seems that Tamahi is trapped in a dimensional and temporal loop so your doubts increase much more, although on the positive side it is so unexpected that you simply have no idea what can happen and everything will be very surprising unlike other films where everything could become intuitive and predictable.
Among the most striking and interesting aspects of Amrita no Kyouen is its animation, it has a very peculiar style which uses fairly simple designs, but with pale color palettes in some moments and very intense colors in others to highlight the emotions of the situations, in addition to having a pretty good design, it also combines elements of classic animation with CGI but in a good way creating a very attractive effect to the eye, it uses a lot of backgrounds and background elements with this method and combine it with the designs of the protagonists.
It also uses a rather abstract element of terror which is based on showing somewhat disturbing and even frightening images one after another in a special sequence where the images have practically nothing to do with the story or at least they are not scenes that appear on screen beyond the image sequences when the protagonist is going through very traumatic situations. In the same way it uses a very common technique in anime or series to reduce costs and save time, this is the static images. For a moment we see how everything seems to freeze on the screen while the dialogues or the music continues. It is also used in scenes where we see the character who is talking backwards in order to leave only one image and place the dialogues without having to animate the mouth in movement.
Undoubtedly Amrita no Kyouen is a very peculiar film, at times it manages to create certain emotions of terror and intrigue for the story, in the end there are so many unknowns that it creates during its short duration that it is inevitable not to have an ending that can feel inconclusive and will leave you wondering how all the events end, really what happened to the three protagonists and what was the origin of this strange place, it is still something curious to see. Although you will have a lot of doubts when the credits appear on the screen.

Muchas veces nos podemos topar con películas o series realmente extrañas y que luego de verlas a pesar de sentir que hubo buenos momentos y escenas realmente fuertes e interesantes, también nos queda una gran duda sobre que se supone que acabamos de ver y que sucedió realmente, si adicionalmente a esta premisa le agregas que se trata de una película de terror y misterio la cual tiene una duración inferior a los 50 minutos, el resultado es una obra por demás peculiar, abstracta y que te dejara muchas preguntas cuando todo termine. Amrita no Kyouen es precisamente esta película de terror que utiliza elementos algo psicológicos y te deja una gran duda en su final.
Esta breve historia tiene como protagonistas a tres jóvenes colegialas llamadas Tamahi, Aki y Yu, quienes mientras regresan tarde de clases ven como en un complejo de apartamentos bastante imponente en estructura una silueta de mujer se observa en el tejado para luego dejarse caer al vacío, asustadas ven como Tamahi estando más alterada que las demás sale corriendo al edificio y ellas la siguen a su interior y esto sera una pésima decisión. Este anime, aunque se puede considerar más como misterio y algo de terror y hasta gore, tiene un elemento de Isekai y esto se debe a que este edificio las transporta a otra dimensión desolada, terrorífica, extraña y con criaturas perturbadoras.
La historia en lo personal avanza extremadamente rápida y creando cada vez más dudas a medida que va avanzando la trama. Rápidamente se deja ver como este edifico es un lugar extraño y demoniaco en donde habitan criaturas y espectros muy peligrosos en donde rápidamente matan a una de las tres chicas y vemos cómo deben ir huyendo de todo, al mismo tiempo va creando cada vez más elementos misteriosos y sin mucho contexto como dimensiones extrañas, las dos chicas son transportadas y luego vemos como Tamahi aparece en diferentes lugar de un momento a otro, elementos industriales que pueden dar a entender que todo se trata de un experimento fallido, y también sucesos que puede hacer pensar que incluso todo se trate de un sueño.
Para terminar de completar una historia bastante confusa e inesperada, se incluye varios elementos similares al viaje en el tiempo o al menos parece que Tamahi queda atrapada en un bucle dimensional y temporal por lo cual tus dudas aumentan mucho más, aunque como algo positivo resulta tan inesperado todo que simplemente no tienes idea de que pueda suceder y todo será muy sorprendente a diferencia de otras películas donde todo pude llegar a ser intuitivo y predecible.
Entre los aspectos más llamativos e interesantes de Amrita no Kyouen esta su animación, tiene un estilo bastante peculiar el cual utiliza diseños bastante sencillos, pero con paletas de colores pálidos en algunos momentos y colores muy intensos en otros para resaltar más las emociones de las situaciones, adicional a tener un diseño bastante bueno, también combina elementos de animación clásica con CGI pero de buena manera creando un efecto muy atractivo a la vista, utiliza bastante el crear fondos y elementos del fondo con este método y combinarlo con los diseños de las protagonistas.
También utiliza un elemento de terror bastante abstracto el cual se basa en mostrar imágenes algo perturbadoras y hasta algo aterradoras una detrás de otra en una secuencia especial en donde además las imágenes no tienes prácticamente nada que ver con la historia o al menos no son escenas que aparezcan en pantalla más allá de las secuencias de imágenes cuando la protagonista está pasando por situaciones muy traumáticas. Del mismo modo utiliza una técnica muy frecuente en animes o series para reducir costos y ahorrar tiempo, esto se trata de las imágenes estáticas. Por momento vemos como parece que todo se queda congelando en pantalla mientras siguen los diálogos o la música. También se utiliza en escenas en donde vemos al personaje que está hablando de espaldas para de esta forma poder dejar solo una imagen y colocar los diálogos sin tener que animar la boca en movimiento.
Sin dudas Amrita no Kyouen es una película bastante peculiar, por momentos logra crear ciertas emociones de terror e intriga por la historia, al final son tantas las incógnitas que crea durante su corta duración que es inevitable no contar con un final que se puede sentir inconcluso y te dejara pensando cómo terminan todos los sucesos, realmente que sucedió con las tres protagonistas y cuál era el origen de este extraño lugar, de igual manera resulta algo curioso de ver. Aunque si tendrás una gran cantidad de dudas cuando aparezcan los créditos en la pantalla.
