Kara No Kyoukai 2 Murder Speculation (Part 1) - Shiki And Mikiya's Past, A Dark Past [ENG -ESP]

Some time ago I came across an old mystery movie with supernatural elements, despite being from 2007 it had a very good visual quality and after watching it and being super excited with the story, I discovered that it is a saga of several movies, without a doubt the Kara no Kyoukai saga has become one of my favorites with only two movies and there are still many more to see, the only drawback is that being a not so popular saga, knowing the order of the movies was a little complicated and to be even more complex, the chronological order is different from the broadcasting. Kara no Kyoukai 2 Murder Speculation (Part 1) is the second movie, but it takes place some years before the first installment, and in this story we see the origin of the relationship and friendship between Ryougi Shiki and Kokutou Mikiya.

Hace algún tiempo me encontré con una antigua película de misterio y elementos sobrenaturales, a pesar de ser del año 2007 tenía una calidad visual muy buena y luego de verla y quedar súper emocionado con la historia, descubrí que se trata de una saga de varias películas, sin dudas la saga de Kara no Kyoukai se ha vuelto de mis favoritas solamente con dos películas y aún queda muchas más por ver, el único inconveniente es que al ser una saga no tan popular, saber el orden de las películas fue un poco complicado y para ser aún más complejo, el orden cronológico es diferente al de emisión. Kara no Kyoukai 2 Murder Speculation (Part 1) es la segunda película, pero tiene lugar algunos años antes de la primera entrega, y en esta historia vemos el origen de la relación y amistad entre Ryougi Shiki y Kokutou Mikiya.

This story takes place a couple of years before, when Shiki and Mikiya were still high school students and met in the classroom, this time it will be Mikiya who will have a greater role in the story while Shiki will be relegated to a more sporadic role, but still has a great relevance in the narrative and will be part of the central point of the story. It was really great to see such a gratifying change in the narrative by having Mikiya as the main character considering that in the first movie she barely had any scenes.

Another very interesting and impacting aspect in the story was to know part of Shiki's past, there are many aspects of her personality that are shown and although some may be in doubt if they had a change due to the problems that caused her, it also helped to empathize more with Shiki as a protagonist and understand why her personality is so cold and distant. It also shows the reason for her great ability in combat and her strength, this because since she was a child she trained the art of the sword, but in battles with real swords, with risk of death.

Esta historia tiene lugar un par de años antes, cuando Shiki y Mikiya aún eran estudiantes de preparatoria y se conocieron en el salón de clases, en esta ocasión será Mikiya quien tendrá un mayor protagonismo en la historia mientras Shiki quedará relegada a un rol más esporádico, aunque igualmente tiene una gran relevancia en la narrativa y será parte del punto central de la historia. Realmente fue muy genial ver un cambio tan gratificante en la narrativa al contar con Mikiya como protagonista tomando en cuenta que en la primera película apenas tuvo escenas.
Otro aspecto muy interesante e impactante en la historia fue poder conocer parte del pasado de Shiki, son muchos los aspectos de la personalidad que se muestran de ella y aunque algunos pueden quedar en duda si tuvieron un cambio debido a los problemas que le ocasionaban, también ayudo a empatizar más con Shiki como protagonista y entender el porqué de su personalidad tan fría y distante. También se muestra la razón de su gran habilidad en combate y su fuerza, esto debido a que desde pequeña entrenaba el arte de la espada, pero en batallas con espadas reales, con riesgo de muerte.

The main focus of this story will be a series of strange murders that take place in the city, little by little people murdered in strange, painful and tortuous ways are appearing. Although at first there seems to be no connection between the deaths and the protagonists, we will soon discover how Shiki seems to have some attraction and curiosity with all these crimes, looking for their origin and the reason for all these deaths, in the end the twist in the story is quite unexpected and impressive, especially considering the concept we had about Shiki in the first film. This time he will have a darker and even antagonistic personality.

El enfoque principal de esta historia será una serie de extraños asesinatos que tienen lugar en la ciudad, poco a poco van apareciendo personas asesinadas de formas extrañas, dolorosas y tortuosas. Aunque en un principio no parece haber ninguna conexión entre las muertes y los protagonistas, pronto descubriremos como Shiki parece tener cierta atracción y curiosidad con todos es crímenes, buscando su origen y el motivo de todas estas muertes, al final el giro en la historia es bastante inesperado e impresionante, en especial considerando el concepto que teníamos sobre Shiki en la primera película. En esta ocasión tendrá un aire más oscuro e incluso antagonico en su personalidad.

Another curious aspect of this story is Mikiya's relationship with Shiki, although she only treats him as a classmate and even tries to push him away, Mikiya certainly develops great feelings towards Shiki, but these feelings can be considered as a mixture of love, friendship and admiration, Mikiya ends up caring completely for Shiki and although she can't explain it, she wants to be able to accompany, support and support her, even when that unravels in great risks for Mikiya, even up to mortal risk, he decides to continue by her side supporting her in all her decisions, an obsessive approach, but that undoubtedly goes very well with all the background and narrative of the series, a dark, mysterious and deadly story.

Otro aspecto curioso de esta historia es la relación de Mikiya hacia shiki, aunque ella solo lo trata como un compañero de clases e incluso trata de alejarlo, Mikiya sin duda va desarrollando grandes sentimientos hacia Shiki, pero los mismos se pueden considera como una mezcla de amor, amistad y admiración, Mikiya termina preocupándose completamente por Shiki y aunque no puede explicarlo, desea poder acompañarla, apoyarla y confiar completamente en ella, aun cuando eso desenlaza en grandes riesgos para Mikiya, incluso hasta riesgo mortal, decide seguir a su lado apoyándola en todas sus decisiones, un enfoque un poco obsesivo, pero que sin dudas va muy bien con todo el trasfondo y narrativa de la serie, una historia oscura, misteriosa y mortal.

Once again Kara no Kyoukai demonstrates how even a 17 year old production can have a visual level that even today is very good to watch, with quality and details, a somber atmosphere that perfectly complements the story, a series that could be considered a classic after so many years, with a palette of dark but intense colors and with great contrast between them. The gory scenes, although few, manage to have a very good effect and care with the details that generates a great sense of suspense and amazement when you see them. Although the soundtrack in this film is very limited having few moments of musical accompaniment, the few scenes with background music are very good and manage to give you that feeling of uneasiness unique to the series of suspense or terror. Definitely a franchise that is getting more and more my attention.

Nuevamente Kara no Kyoukai demuestra como incluso una producción de hace 17 años puede contar con un nivel visual que incluso al día de hoy sea muy buena de ver, con calidad y detalles, un ambiente sombrío que complementa perfectamente la historia, una serie que precisamente ya se podría considerar como un clásico luego de tantos años, con una paleta de colores oscuros pero intensos y con gran contraste entre sí. Las escenas sangrientas aunque son pocas logran tener un efecto y cuidado con los detalles muy bueno que genera una gran sensación de suspenso y asombro cuando las ves. Aunque la banda sonora en esta película es muy limitada teniendo pocos momentos de acompañamiento musical, las pocas escenas con música de fondo son muy buenas y lograr darte esa sensación de inquietud única de las series de suspenso o terror. Definitivamente una franquicia que cada vez consigue atraer más mi atención.
