Summer Ghost - A Short But Sentimental Adventure With A Ghost [ENG -ESP]
A peculiar aspect in original anime movies is how they manage to create and tell a whole story in a relatively short time, but I didn't expect that an ironically short movie of only 40 minutes managed to show an interesting and dramatic story while feeling that it really managed to have a good conclusion despite the obvious time issues and leave many aspects of the story unexplained, but at the same time manage to leave it in the background and not make you wonder too much about the characters' past, just focus on the present and what they are trying to achieve.
In this story we only have 4 main characters which will be Tomayo, Ryou and Aoi who are 3 young students who meet online and seem to have a common taste, supernatural things and the search for ghosts, at the beginning of the film is shown as they meet for the first time in person in the first scenes and thus there is no need to show stories or the past of the three as it basically does not exist and everything starts along with the film.
The objective of the three to get together in person is to go in search of the ghost of summer, a girl that rumors say appears when you light fireworks and precisely she will be the last protagonist and character named Ayane Satou. A somewhat charismatic young woman, but at the same time with a cold personality and who turns out to be interested in interacting with the living, simply talking to them, although it is later discovered that she herself wants a favor and that they help her to achieve something that she can no longer seem to do herself.
Something peculiar is how despite being a fairly short film presents us quickly and concisely a dramatic and sentimental background for each character, each one has their own problems which in one way or another make each one is close to his death and for this reason is that Ayane decides to be seen by them, in a way although it does not delve much into the past and the circumstances of each one, In the end, the one who had more protagonism was Tomoya who after empathizing more with Ayane, she asks him to help her to get her body because she confesses that she did not commit suicide as rumors said and instead she was murdered but she does not know where her body was and that they have not found it yet.
In the end the three young people decide to help her in her search and in a very peculiar way where while the fireworks they use last, they manage to leave her body abandoned on earth and her soul is detached from it to fly and explore the world in the same way that Ayane does being a ghost, the main feeling in the adventure is the desolation of Ayane for not being able to rest in peace for not having found her body and feeling that she left things unresolved in her life before dying.
Something very striking is the animation style, this film is relatively recent to have been published in the year 2021, has a somewhat classic style that can remind anime of the 90's and at the same time lets you see a very striking work and design where they are very clear tones and the drawing with colored pencils is very careful, in some moments you can see how the backgrounds are blurred and without much detail to focus all your attention on the characters as well as many times the detail is minimal and seeks to make simple designs that give that feeling of nostalgia of old anime that highlighted and entertained with their stories instead of their animations.
In the end, even though Summer Ghost turns out to be a very short film, it tells a very sentimental story and if you analyze each situation well you can't help but feel sad for the characters, in the same way the story does not close everything that happened and leaves many doubts in the air as well as the decisions of the protagonists after everything that happened with Ayane, despite everything it manages to be a good and entertaining story to watch at any time and manage to generate emotions during its short duration.

Un aspecto peculiar en las películas originales de anime es como consiguen crear y contar toda una historia en relativamente poco tiempo, pero no esperaba que una película irónicamente corta de tan solo 40 minutos consiguiera mostrar una historia interesante y dramática al mismo tiempo de sentir que realmente consiguió tener una buena conclusión a pesar de las evidentes problemáticas del tiempo y dejar muchos aspectos de la historia sin explicar, pero al mismo tiempo conseguir dejarla en segundo plano y que no te preguntes mucho sobre el pasado de los personajes, solo te enfoques en el presente y en lo que están tratando de conseguir.
En esta historia solamente contamos con 4 personajes principales los cuales seran Tomayo, Ryou y Aoi quienes son 3 jóvenes estudiantes que se conocen por internet y parecen tener un gusto en común, las cosas sobrenaturales y la búsqueda de fantasmas, al inicio de la película se muestra como se conocen por primera vez en persona en las primeras escenas y de esta manera no hay necesidad de mostrar historias o el pasado de los tres pues básicamente no existe y todo comienza junto con la película.
El objetivo de los tres para juntarse en persona es ir en la búsqueda del fantasma del verano, una chica que dicen los rumores que aparece cuando enciendes fuegos artificiales y precisamente ella será la última protagonista y personaje llamada Ayane Satou. Una joven algo carismática, pero al mismo tiempo con una personalidad fría y que resulta interesada en interactuar con los vivos, simplemente hablar con ellos, aunque luego se descubre que ella misma quiere un favor y que la ayuden a conseguir algo que parece ya no puede hacer ella misma.
Algo peculiar es como a pesar de ser una película bastante corta nos presenta de forma rápida y concisa un trasfondo dramático y sentimental para cada personaje, cada uno tiene sus propios problemas los cuales de una u otro forma hacen que cada uno esté cerca de su muerte y por este motivo es que Ayane decide dejarse ver por ellos, de cierto modo aunque no se profundiza mucho en el pasado y en la circunstancias de cada uno, consiguen ser bastante tristes y hasta frustrantes como es en el caso de Ryou, al final quien tuvo más protagonismo fue Tomoya quien luego de empatizar más con Ayane, ella le pide el favor de ayudarla a conseguir su cuerpo debido a que confiesa que ella no se suicidó como decían los rumores y en su lugar fue asesina pero no sabe dónde fue que quedo su cuerpo y que aún no lo han encontrado.
Al final los tres jóvenes deciden ayudarla en su búsqueda y de una forma muy peculiar en donde mientras dure encendido los fuegos artificiales que utilizan, logran dejar su cuerpo abandonado en la tierra y su alma se desprende del mismo para poder volar y explorar todo el mundo de la misma manera que lo hace Ayane siendo un fantasma, el sentimiento principal en la aventura es la desolación de Ayane por no ser capaz de descansar en paz al no haber encontrado su cuerpo y sentir que dejo cosas sin resolver en su vida andes de morir.
Algo muy llamativo es el estilo de animación, esta película es relativamente reciente al haber sido publicada en el año 2021, cuenta con un estilo algo clásico que puede recordar a animes de los 90 y que al mismo tiempo deja ver un trabajo y diseño muy llamativo en donde son tonos muy claros y se nota el dibujo con lápices de colores muy cuidado, en algunos momentos se puede ver como los fondos son difuminados y sin mucho detalle para centrar toda tu atención en los personajes así como muchas veces el detalle es mínimo y se busca realizar los diseños sencillos que dan esa sensación de nostalgia de animes antiguos que resaltaban y entretenían con sus historias en lugar de sus animaciones.
Al final a pesar de que Summer Ghost resulta ser una película bastante corta, cuenta una historia muy sentimental y que si te pones a analizar bien cada situación sin lugar a dudas no puedes evitar sentirte triste por los personajes, del mismo modo la historia no termina de cerrar todo lo sucedido y deja bastante dudas en el aire así como las decisiones de los protagonistas luego de todo lo sucedido con Ayane, a pesar de todo consigue ser una historia buena y entretenida para ver en cualquier momento y lograr generarte emociones durante su corta duración.
