Police stories are not so frequent and even personally there have been very few anime and movies I have seen of this genre, but that does not mean that these stories are not fun and exciting. You're Under Arrest The Movie or also known as Taiho Shichau zo The Movie is a fairly old movie dating from 1999 and presents a story of what seems to be a simple traffic police station that must face a conflict of the magnitude of a terrorist attack, the interesting thing about this story is that although it seems to continue a previous story of an anime, it is not really necessary to see the prequel and you can easily understand very well and enjoy the movie without knowing all the previous history of the characters.
This adventure presents how a traffic police station, mostly female officers, are sent for a year on the outside to get more experience in the police and after two of the main characters Miyuki and Natsumi return after their year working on the outside, they see how before they can return to their regular duties their colleagues encounter a much more dangerous and complicated incident than usual for a traffic police officer, A batch of stolen high caliber weapons that seem to be part of an illegal arms sale that will end in a conflict far beyond simple weapons and the real objective of the criminals will be much darker and more dangerous for the country than simply selling weapons on the black market.
Although the story can be understood without many problems even if you have not seen the prequel series, something that at the beginning seems to create some doubts is how the chief of the station is being investigated by a missing friend who created a police response system quite questionable and now this system will become the center of the story because it can be used not only to make a criminal attack on the police station, but also to generate even greater chaos throughout the country, a CD with information that is certainly worth millions for criminals and will try by all means to get hold of it and escape from the police.
During the development of the story we will see how each of the characters manage to have importance in it, despite not considering all of them as protagonists, the story is very well developed with so many characters and manage to give a very funny and positive balance where you really get that sense of realism where each character in their own way is fundamental to the story besides having fun personalities and that with few moments in scenes you can sympathize with each of them.
One aspect that I found entertaining and at the same time curious is how the scenes and moments of action despite being a police story is done in a way more in line with what would be expected of traffic police, virtually throughout the story the action scenes even during the chases and the invasion of enemies, firearms do not appear on the scene, there are very few scenes where you actually see shooting and fire confrontation, even the protagonists never have real weapons in their hands, the only confrontation scene use paint guns instead of real weapons, likewise each scene is very exciting with a touch of fun with the reactions of the protagonists.
Old stories like these have a unique nostalgic aspect of animation of their time and something that this film uses quite a lot that used to be common at the time is the use of static scenes instead of classic animation, both in action scenes and scenes of drama or emotion, still images are used with music or dialogue in the background to continue the narrative which besides giving that unique look was also useful for not having to animate each scene and to give even more relevance to the audio than what is moving on screen. You're Under Arrest The Movie ends up being a very entertaining and exciting story that despite having several decades of animation is quite attractive to the eye and also shows how the good guys do not need to use weapons to defeat the bad guys, even if they are traffic cops, a very good story to watch.

Las historias de policías no suelen ser tan frecuentes e incluso en lo personal han sido muy pocos los animes y películas que he visto de este género, pero eso no quiere decir que estas historias no sean divertidas y emocionantes. You're Under Arrest The Movie o También conocida como Taiho Shichau zo The Movie es una película bastante antigua que data del año 1999 y que nos presenta una historia de lo que parece ser una simple estación policial de trafico que se debe enfrentar a un conflicto de la magnitud de un ataque terrorista, lo interesante de esta historia es que aunque parece que continua una historia previa de un anime, realmente no es necesario ver la precuela y fácilmente puedes entender muy bien y disfrutar la película sin conocer toda la historia previa de los personajes.
Esta aventura nos presenta como en una estación policial de tráfico mayoritariamente de agentes femeninas, son enviadas un año por fuera para conseguir mas experiencia en la policía y luego de que dos de las protagonistas Miyuki y Natsumi regresan luego de su año trabajando por fuera, ven como antes de poder reincorporase a sus labores frecuentes sus compañeras se topan con incidente mucho mas peligroso y complicado de los acostumbrados para un policía de tráfico, un lote de arma de alto calibre robadas y que parecen ser parte de una venta de armas ilegales que terminara en un conflicto mucho más allá de las simples armas y el objetivo real de los criminales será mucho mas oscuro y peligroso para el país que simplemente vender armas en el mercado negro.
Aunque la historia se puede entender sin muchos inconvenientes así no hayas visto la serie precuela, algo que al inicio parece crear ciertas dudas es como el jefe de la estación resulta estar siendo investigado por un amigo desaparecido que creo un sistema de respuesta policial bastante cuestionable y que ahora este sistema pasara a ser el centro de la historia debido a que puede ser utilizado no solo para hacer un ataque criminal a la estación policial, sino también generar un caos aun mayor en todo el país, un cd con información que sin dudas vale millones para los criminales y que intentaran por todo los medios hacerse con el mismo y escapar de los policías.
Durante el desarrollo de la historia veremos como cada una de las personajes logran tener importancia en la misma, a pesar de no considerar a todas como protagonista, es muy bien desarrollada la historia con tantos personajes y logran dar un equilibrio bastante divertido y positivo en donde realmente se logra esa sensación de realismo en donde cada personaje a su manera resultada fundamental para la historia además de tener personalidades divertidas y que con pocos momentos en escenas logras simpatizar con cada una de ellas.
Un aspecto que me resulto entretenido y al mismo tiempo curioso es como la escenas y momentos de acción a pesar de ser una historia de policías se consigue hacer de una forma mas acorde a lo que se esperaría de policías de tráfico, prácticamente en toda la historia la escenas de acción incluso durante las persecuciones y la invasión de los enemigos, las armas de fuego no aparecen en escena, son muy pocas las escenas donde realmente se ven disparos y enfrentamiento de fuego, incluso los protagonistas nunca tienen armas de verdad en sus manos, la única escena de enfrentamiento usan armas de pintura en lugar de armas reales, de igual manera cada escena resulta muy emocionante con un toque de diversión con las reacciones de las protagonistas.
Las historias antiguas como estas cuentan con un aspecto de nostalgia único de la animación de su época y algo que utiliza bastante esta película que solía ser frecuente en aquella época es el utilizar escenas estáticas en lugar de animación clásica, tanto en escenas de acción como las de drama o emoción, se utilizan imágenes fijas con la música o dialogo de fondo para continuar con la narrativa lo cual además de dar ese aspecto único también resultaba útil para no tener que animar cada escena y poder dar incluso mas relevancia al audio que a lo que se esta moviendo en pantalla. You're Under Arrest The Movie termina siendo una historia bastante entretenida y emocionante que a pesar de contar con varias décadas su animación resulta bastante atractiva a la vista y además muestra como los buenos no necesitan usar armas para derrotar a los malos, así sean policías de tráfico, una historia muy buena para ver.

Lograste transmitir perfectamente el encanto de You're Under Arrest The Movie, especialmente ese equilibrio entre acción, comedia y el realismo dentro de un contexto policiaco poco convencional. Es interesante cómo destacaste que la película mantiene la esencia de la serie sin necesidad de que el espectador tenga conocimientos previos, lo cual es un gran punto a favor para quienes buscan una historia autoconclusiva.
