Cinema and photography are closely linked. Without the latter, the former would not exist.

In fact, when I think about which one I like more, both figure equally, even though I have worked more on photography.

However, this is changing thanks to the experience I am gaining in the production of my second short film.

In the first one I was a scriptwriter and producer, but now I am a director, something totally different.

When I started studying a film course, I knew that directing was not my thing, but I saw that neither was cinematography, because the photography I like is documentary, and not so much the technical area of lighting.

To graduate from this course, I must make a short film either as director, director of photography, producer, and other roles that interest me less.

What has interested me in filmmaking is the script, the basis of everything, but I can't finish the project as a scriptwriter.

Production was a lot of work, cinematography was too technical for my taste, so I decided to direct, also because I wrote the story.

Soon I will give more details of this short film, which talks about a woman who goes through an odyssey in the city to solve a problem.

I have met people who are very eager to help. Especially the cast, composed of local actors and actresses who do not have much experience (except for the main character), but who have received my suggestions, as well as I have received theirs, giving life to the characters. Actually, these pictures were taken during a rehearsal.

It's a pleasant experience, although I still don't know if directing is really my thing. That will be seen along the way.

El cine y la fotografía están estrechamente unidos. Sin la segunda no existiera la primera.

De hecho, cuando pienso cuál me gusta más, ambas figuran por igual, pese a que en la fotografía he trabajado más.

Sin embargo, esto está cambiando gracias a la experiencia que estoy adquiriendo en la producción de mi segundo cortometraje.

En el primero fui guionista y productor, pero ahora soy director, algo totalmente diferente.

Cuando comencé a estudiar un curso de cine, sabía que la dirección no era lo mío, pero vi que la dirección de fotografía tampoco, porque la fotografía que me gusta es la documental, y no tanto el área técnica de iluminación.

Para graduarme de este curso, debo realizar un corto bien sea como director, director de fotografía, productor, y otros roles que menos me interesan.

Lo que me ha interesado del cine es el guion, la base de todo, pero no puedo finalizar el proyecto como guionista.

Producción era mucho trabajo, dirección de fotografía era muy técnica para mi gusto, así que me decidí por la dirección, además porque la historia la escribí.

Pronto daré más detalles de este cortometraje, que habla acerca de una mujer que pasa toda una odisea en la ciudad para solucionar un problema.

He conocido gente con muchas ganas de ayudar. En especial el reparto, compuesto por actores y actrices locales que no tienen mucha experiencia (excepto la protagonista), pero que han recibido mis sugerencias, así como yo las de ellos, dándole vida a los personajes. Una muestra de esto, fue durante un ensayo en un parque, donde fueron tomadas las fotografías que comparto.

Es una experiencia agradable, aunque todavía no sé si realmente la dirección sea lo mío. Eso se verá en el camino.
