Mad Max predicting the future.

I enjoy watching good movies, and any genre is fine for me as long as the story is educational and entertaining. I have lost count and can't remember all the movies I have seen in my whole life, but there are some movies that can't be forgotten easily. These are movies we can resonate with; sometimes they are about the happenings in the present world, while they could as well be an insight or prediction about the future.

Not everyone pays attention to movie detail, which makes us miss some important things we ought to see: the real message behind the story, the cast, and even where these movies are shot.

There are movies that writers just come up with to entertain us, while there are those writers who draw inspiration from the world situation, predicting the future with movies, but we usually don't see these things until they happen.

My dad usually said that Fela Anikulapo Kuti was a prophet who came to prophesy with music, but I didn't understand until I listened to one of his songs speaking about how tribes and religion will turn against each other, forgetting that we are one nation, which is happening already.

Just as Fela was able to predict the future, there are so many book authors, artists, and even movie producers who predicted the future with their work.

I was young when I first saw Matrix and iRobot, but I didn't understand until I rewatched them. AI technology was a strong part of the stories, and many of us would have argued that many of the things in that movie weren't possible, but today, the world is gradually depending on AI for so many things.

During COVID-19, I was shocked to see movies where this particular virus was mentioned, and I started wondering if these movie producers always had something in mind before producing movies. It even created fear for me because there are many apocalypse movies out there, and that's a future I don't want to experience.

Another movie that is fun to watch but actually predicts the future is Mad Max: Fury Road. The movie was a vibe back then, and many of us really enjoyed the action. I really did, even though I can't mention names from the movie anymore, but the prophecy in the movie was how humans would struggle for air and water.

We can say we aren't there yet, but we have embarked on the journey already, and I won't be surprised to wake up one morning to see that there are only a few trees left in the world.

Every day, people cut down trees for houses, roads, hotels, and plants, and I don't know if we are helping or destroying ourselves in advance. Global warming, climate change, and sudden natural disasters are signs that we are not doing the right thing, but we don't care.

Everyone wants to get richer not minding even if it would ruin the ecosystem. We've all forgotten that the wealth will be of no use if we don't have water to drink or air to breathe in.

I screenshoted the images from the movie.
