Hola amigos, sean todos bienvenidos a una más de mis publicaciones de películas, en esta ocasión les presentó "We Are What We Are" una película de terror y suspenso ambientada como en los años 80.
Una familia esconde un gran secreto por una extraña tradición que ha pasado de generación en generación, pero sus hijos no les gusta para nada las cosas que hacen sus padres, pero lo que ellos no saben es que poseen la misma semilla de ellos, donde una vez que comiencen a sentir placer de hacer lo mismo que hacen sus padres no habrá vuelta atrás.

La película comienza con la escena de la madre de esta familia, quien posee una extraña enfermedad dicha madre se llama Emma Parker interpretado por Jassie DePaiva.
Emma se encontraba haciendo unas compras en la ciudad, hasta que su cuerpo comenzó a reaccionar de manera extraña, provocando su fallecimiento, una gran perdida para la familia Parker.
En la ciudad se está desatando un caos ambiental, donde las fuertes corrientes de lluvia está inundando todos los poblados, creando una alerta crítica para todos los residentes que en ella se encuentra, los únicos que no tienen problema con las lluvias (por ahora) son la familia Parker, ya que estos se encuentran en lo más alto de una colina.

Esta familia posee dos hermanas casi de la misma edad, una llamada Rose e Iris, ambas de apellido Parker interpretado por Ambyr Childers y Julia Ganer, quienes no se encuentra totalmente en desacuerdo sobre las cosas que sus padres hacen, pero no les queda más remedio que hacer lo que su padre dice.
Juntas se cubren las espaldas, e intentan cuidar bien a su hermano menor, Rory Parker interpretado por Jack Gore, ambas descubrirán la verdadera sensación que sus padres sienten al hacer algo totalmente desagradable, resulta que sus padres tienen tendencias al canibalismo por una extraña creencia religiosa, así que Rose e Iris deberán de comer carne humana para poder sobrevivir, ya que no pueden comer ninguna otra carne salvo que la del ser humano.
Cuando pasa el tiempo de que los policías no estén en investigaciones sobre el desaparecimiento de las personas, ellos salen a buscar otra víctima, para así saciar sus apetitos caníbales.

Rory ni se entera de lo que está comiendo porque aún es un niño pequeño que siquiera sabe lo que es lo bueno y lo malo, así que todo depende de sus hermanas para lo correcto.
Pero un Doctor continúa su búsqueda de su hija desaparecida, el cual tiene más de 6 años que no logra encontrar ni rastro de ella, dicho investigador se llama Barrow interpretado por Michael Parks, pero cuando este comienza a investigar unos extraños huesos que trajo el río desde lo alto de la montaña, comienza a activar sospechas de la familia Parker.

Esta película es un poco peculiar, ya que no he visto películas como esta desde hace mucho tiempo, las extrañas creencias de esta familia hace que cometan canibalismo, algo que no me esperaba hasta ver algunas escenas, sinceramente me parece un poco repulsivo, más aún cuando te muestran un poco los platillos.
Pero me alegro de que no lo hagan, creo que no hubiera continuado viendo esta película si lo mostraran todo, me gusto como los actores interpretaron su papel, pero la ambientación de esta película es como para verla en la noche con las luces apagadas, ya que últimamente este tipo de películas se ven muy oscuras.
Es lamentable como la familia Parker pierde a una de las cabezas, el cual es su madre, pero esta familia lo toman de lo más normal, es como si no les interesara, es como si no les doliera la muerte de sus madres y continúan las mismas tradiciones que ella misma hacía.

La película no me ha parecido muy buena que digamos bajo mis gustos, lo único que me llamo la atención fue el final porque fue algo que no me lo esperaba, es como ver a muchos zombis comiéndose entre sí, pero por supuesto esto que mencione sobre los zombis es más o menos una referencia de lo que verán en esta escena en específico, si quiere descubrir más deberán de verla.
He puntuado esta película con 2 estrellas, el terror no era la gran cosa como yo esperaba, la ambientación era muy oscura y como lo vi en la mañana no podría visualizar muy bien algunas escenas, es bueno que las películas tengan ese tono oscuro, pero no como para que todo se vea relativamente oscuro.
En cierta parte los actores hicieron bien su trabajo, pero les falto un poco más de realismo para que se note en sus rostros que son caníbales y que despiertan desde su interior esa sed de sangre, pero eso es lo que pasa cuando las películas tienen un poco presupuesto.

The movie didn't seem very good to me, the only thing that caught my attention was the ending because it was something I didn't expect, it's like seeing many zombies eating each other, but of course this I mentioned about the zombies is more or less a reference of what you will see in this specific scene, if you want to find out more you should watch it.
I have rated this movie with 2 stars, the horror was not the big deal as I expected, the setting was very dark and as I saw it in the morning I couldn't visualize some scenes very well, it's good that movies have that dark tone, but not as to make everything look relatively dark.
In a certain part the actors did their job well, but they lacked a little more realism to show in their faces that they are cannibals and that they awaken from within that thirst for blood, but that's what happens when movies have a little budget.

Es como en esos casos de la vida real, en que hubo personas que al probar la sangre o la carne humana enloquecen y solo quieren seguir consumiendo más.
