Hola mis queridos lectores cinéfilos de esta maravillosa comunidad, ayer vi una deliciosa película que trata de enamorarse y por supuesto, apta para todo público, está recién agregada en Netflix y me salió sugerida, no quise leer sobre la película porque de verdad quería sentarme a ver lo primero que me saliera y pues, esta vez me saqué la lotería, así que comienzo con una pregunta para ustedes mis estimados:
Hello, my dear movie-loving readers of this wonderful community. Yesterday, I watched a
delightful movie about falling in love, and of course, it’s suitable for all audiences. It’s just been
added to Netflix and was suggested to me. I didn’t want to read about the movie because I
truly wanted to sit down and watch whatever came up first. Well, this time I hit the jackpot.
So, let's begin with a question for you, my dear readers:

What are 4 minutes when it comes to finding the love of your life?
En cuatro minutos puedes ponerte los zapatos, calentar un café, saludar al vecino, cuatro minutos no parece mucho tiempo, pero para la protagonista de esta historia significan dos cosas, una perder su vuelo y segundo encontrar el amor de su vida.
In four minutes, you can put on your shoes, heat up a coffee, greet your neighbor. Four
minutes don’t seem like much time, but for the protagonist of this story, they mean two
things: missing her flight and finding the love of her life.
El titulo de esta película es La probabilidad estadística del amor a primera vista y me hace pensar si realmente es probable vivir un amor duradero que haya nacido a primera vista y eso se cuestiona el protagonista que es matemático y siempre está sacando cuentas de todo.
The title of this movie is “The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight,” and it makes me
wonder if it’s really possible to have a lasting love that was born at first sight. This is
questioned by the protagonist, who is a mathematician and always calculating everything.
Estos protagonistas tienen una dulzura que te enganchan desde el primer momento, además de que tienen buena química y eso es súper importante para contar una historia de cómo puede iniciar el amor. Ella se llama Hadley y él Oliver, ella es una caja de gatos, siempre llega tarde, tiene su bolso revuelto, en todas partes se le apaga el teléfono, deja olvidadas sus cosas, en cambio él es un matemático inglés que le tiene fobia a los gérmenes y odia las sorpresas.
These characters have a sweetness that hooks you from the very beginning, and they also have
great chemistry, which is crucial for telling a love story. She’s named Hadley, and he’s Oliver.She’s a mess, always running late, her bag is a mess, her phone dies everywhere. In contrast,
he’s an English mathematician who’s germophobic and hates surprises.

Ella es estadounidense y viaja a Londres para ir a la boda de su papá, él es Inglés como ya les dije, pero vive en USA y viaja a Londres por un asunto familiar que más adelante ella logra descubrir.
She’s American and travels to London for her dad’s wedding, while he’s English, as I mentioned, but he lives in the USA and travels to London for a family matter that she later
discovers.
La película tiene un elemento que me encantó, porque tiene una especie de celestina o hada madrina que narra la historia en vos en off y también dirigiéndose al público, además que es como Barbie, es lo que quiere ser en el momento que lo desee, allí ella es azafata, receptora de documentos, chofer de autobús, una respetuosa Sra. Inglesa caminando por la calle, una buena samaritana que encuentra un bolso y una barman, siempre dándoles pistas para que lograran elegir el amor.
The movie has an element I loved, which is a kind of matchmaker or fairy godmother who narrates the story in a voice over and also addresses the audience. She can be whatever she wants at any moment, like a flight attendant, document courier, bus driver, a respectful English lady walking down the street, a Good Samaritan who finds a lost bag, or a bartender.She always drops hints to help them choose love.
Censacine
No sé si a ustedes les pasa cuando ven a un actor que no es tipo Leonardo DiCaprio, que todo el mundo sabe quién es, uno se dice ¿En qué película lo he o la he visto?, eso me pasó con los protagonistas y la narradora.
I don’t know if you’ve had this happen when you see an actor who isn’t as famous as Leonardo
DiCaprio, whom everyone knows. You think, “Where have I seen them before?” That
happened to me with the protagonists and the narrator.
La narradora es Jameela Jamil a quien recientemente vi en una serie buenísima en Netflix que se las recomiendo, lleva por nombre “El lado bueno”.
The narrator is Jameela Jamil, whom I recently saw in a fantastic Netflix series called “The Good Place.”
El protagonista me costó un poco más porque hizo un papel totalmente diferente, Ben Hardy, quien interpretó a Roger Taylor, baterista de la legendaria Banda Queen, en la película Bohemian Rhapsody de 2018.
The male lead was a bit harder for me to recognize because he played a completely different role. It’s Ben Hardy, who portrayed Roger Taylor, the drummer of the legendary band Queen,in the 2018 movie “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
Y la protagonista también me parecía familiar, sólo que la vi en una película del 2016 siendo todavía una adolescente, Hadley Lu Richardson, en mi vida a los 17, esa película me encantó porque me recordó a mí misma a esa edad y también me recuerda a mí siendo la mamá de un muchacho de 17 años.
The female lead also seemed familiar to me. I had seen her in a movie from 2016 when she was still a teenager, Hadley Lu Richardson, in “The Edge of Seventeen.” I loved that movie because it reminded me of myself at that age, and now it reminds me of myself as the mother of a 17-year-old.
Sensacine (Mi vida a los diecisiete)
Esta película comienza en un aeropuerto pero luego muestra unos paisajes divinos, coloridos y sofisticados de Londres que te maravillarán la vista.
The movie starts at an airport but then shows some stunning, colorful, and sophisticated London landscapes that will dazzle your eyes.

Retomando la trama, cuando Hadley pierde su vuelo está toda enredada porque pues, ella inconscientemente se auto sabotea porque muy en su adentro no quería ir a la boda, pero sentía pena tener que explicar que no pudo asistir por 4 minutos, es como un poco sínico, incluso para una chica de 17 años, así que decide llamar a su papá a Londres porque el único vuelo disponible para que ella pueda viajar todavía está entre las oportunidades de asistir a la boda, sólo que el asiento es de primera clase, su papá sin rechistar le dice que sí que le reembolsará el dinero porque sabe que ella no puede permitírselo.
Returning to the plot, when Hadley misses her flight, she’s all tangled up because, deep down, she unconsciously sabotaged herself because she didn’t really want to go to the wedding. However, she felt embarrassed to explain that she couldn’t attend because of 4 minutes. It’s a bit cynical, even for a 17-year-old. So, she calls her dad in London because the only available flight for her to make it to the wedding is still a chance, but it’s in first class. Without
hesitation, her dad agrees to reimburse her because he knows she can’t afford it.
Una vez comprado el boleto busca un lugar en donde cargar su móvil porque como les dije desde un principio, siempre carga el teléfono descargado, cuando encuentra un sitio estaba dañado y un simpático y joven inglés se ofrece a cargar su teléfono, este apuesto inglés no es más quien Oliver.
Once she buys the ticket, she looks for a place to charge her phone because, as I mentioned from the beginning, her phone is always dead. When she finds a spot, it’s out of order, and a friendly young Englishman offers to charge her phone. This handsome Englishman is none other than Oliver.
Una cosa llevó a la otra y aunque los dos estaban nerviosos, tuvieron su primera cita, comieron en el aeropuerto, se la pasaron tan bien que casi pierden el vuelo, pero ya la magia había acabado porque Hadley iba a primera clase y Oliver a clase turista, así que se despiden, aquí entra un evento felizmente fortuito para Oliver, el avión estaba full y su asiento tenía el cinturón de seguridad dañado, llama a la aeromoza (El hada madrina) y ella se percata que ciertamente el cinturón está dañado, le busca otro asiento que por cosas del destino era justo el de al lado de Hadley, así que pasaron las siguientes 7 horas juntos para enamorarse.
One thing led to another, and although they were both nervous, they had their first date, they had lunch at the airport, and they had such a good time that they almost missed the flight, but the magic was over because Hadley was going to first class and Oliver was going to economy class, so they said goodbye. Here comes a happily fortuitous event for Oliver, the plane was full, and his seat had a damaged seatbelt. He calls the flight attendant (the fairy godmother), and she notices that the seatbelt is certainly damaged. She finds him another seat, which, by fate, was right next to Hadley, so they spent the next 7 hours together falling in love.
Cuando llegan a Londres una serie de sucesos desafortunados hicieron que la pareja se separara y aunque Oliver se aseguró de marcar su número en el móvil de Hadley, ¿adivinen qué? Se le volvió a descargar, ¡Dios mío! 7 horas en el avión y no lo pudo cargar, ja,ja,ja de verdad que la protagonista es un desastre ja,ja,ja.
When they arrive in London, a series of unfortunate events cause the couple to split up, and although Oliver made sure to dial his number on Hadley's cell phone, guess what? It went dead again, my God! 7 hours on the plane, and she couldn't charge it. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Really, the main character is a mess ha, ha, ha.
Cada quien va a lo suyo, pero ninguno estaba bien porque ya se extrañaban, ella molesta porque su teléfono se apagó antes de guardar el número de Oliver, y él triste porque ella nunca lo llamó y además de que su visita no iba a ser nada agradable.
To each his own, but neither was well because they already missed each other; she was upset because her phone went off before she saved Oliver's number, and he was sad because she never called him, and besides that, his visit was not going to be pleasant.

[Alerta spoiler] Oliver viajó a Inglaterra a despedir a su mamá quien estaba padeciendo de cáncer terminal siendo su última voluntad celebrar su funeral en vida con todos sus amigos y como buenos artistas hicieron una fiesta con obras de teatros, ópera, poemas, magia, drama y llanto, mientras que ella se va a la boda de su papá y sin querer oye a unos invitados hablar de Oliver que vino desde USA al funeral de su mamá, ella se sintió triste y preocupada y va en busca de él.
! [Spoiler alert] Oliver traveled to England to say goodbye to his mother, who was suffering from terminal cancer. It was her last wish to celebrate her funeral in life with all her friends and as good artists, they made a party with plays, opera, poems, magic, drama and crying. While she goes to her dad's wedding and inadvertently hears some guests talking about Oliver, who came from the USA to his mom's funeral, she feels sad and worried and goes in search of him.
Lo interesante de la trama es que pareciese que el universo les acercase y alejase como las olas del mar, siempre estaban terceros que entorpecían el encuentro, pero nunca les faltó su hada madrina que les diera señales que considero yo que solamente las podrías tomar en cuenta si realmente amas a esa personas con la que anhelas encontrarte, y pues en el amor no se sacan tantas cuentas, si realmente amas y no sólo a tu pareja, si no a tus padres, hermanos y demás seres queridos, déjate llevar, ámalos sin medida.
The interesting thing about the plot is that it seems that the universe seems to bring them closer and move them away like the waves of the sea; there were always third parties that hindered the meeting, but they never lacked their fairy godmother to give them signs that I believe that you could only take into account if you really love that person with whom you long to meet, and in love there are not so many accounts; if you really love and not only your parents, siblings and other loved ones, let yourself go and love them without measure.
Me pareció una película muy divertida, dulce, me mantuvo enganchada de inicio a fin y me hizo pensar si de verdad esas estadísticas como que 1 de cada 50 parejas se conocen en un aeropuerto y el 8% de las parejas se conocen por un vuelo perdido, ¿las habrán tomado de un estudio real, o es solamente ficción? ja, ja, ja.
I thought it was a very funny, sweet movie that kept me hooked from start to finish and made me wonder if those statistics, like 1 in 50 couples meeting at an airport and 8% of couples meeting because of a missed flight, are really taken from a real study, or is it just fiction? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
Un detalle de la película es que en las escenas como en el aeropuerto, la boda y el sepelio la narradora los describía enumerando las cosas y las acciones de los personajes y eso me encantó porque hace juego tanto como con el protagonista y el nombre de la película.
A detail of the movie is that in scenes like the airport, the wedding and the burial, the narrator described them by listing the things and actions of the characters and I loved that because it matches both the protagonist and the name of the movie.
En cuanto a las estadísticas de pareja yo no tengo ninguna experiencia de ese tipo porque yo ni de chiste he perdido un vuelo, nunca conocí ningún amor en el aeropuerto y pues es posible que sí exista el amor a primera vista, todavía le doy el beneficio de la duda a esa posibilidad.
As for the couple statistics, I don't have any experience of that kind because I have never missed a flight, I have never met any love at the airport, and it is possible that love at first sight does exist. I still give the benefit of the doubt to that possibility.

Just today I saw another review of this movie and I made a note to watch it. The romance genre is not my favorite, but from time to time I watch some, because there are movies of that genre that I do like. I watch everything, only romance is what I watch the least, well, not. I lie, what I watch the least is the animated genre. This movie looks good, I'll try to watch it soon to give my own opinion.

My favorite genre is the psychological thriller, but lately I have turned to this type of film because I can watch it at home with my daughter and I have found some gems like this that are worth watching.

Jajajaja, todo es relativo y no lo mencioné en la reseña pero conozco parejas que a primera vista se cayeron mal y el amor surgió después.
Honestamente no lo sé, muchas veces antes de casarme pensaba en eso pero jamás se me dió lo del amor a primera vista, pienso que es imposible porque los hombres y las mujeres somos hechos muy diferentes, uno el hombre puede enganchar con una cara bonita o una figura rápidamente pero las mujeres no son así, para ellas el enamorarse no se da de esa manera así que me parece solo fantasía.
Todo es cuestión de azar, porque primero, encontrar el amor verdadero a veces no es tan fácil, y no digo los corazones y las mariposas en el estómago porque eso es pasional y hormonal, digo cuando ya pasé la etapa del apasionamiento quedan las virtudes, los defectos, las costumbres de cada quien y si se logran concatenar y tolerar.
Quien consigue el amor tiene suerte y si lo consigue a primera vista es doble afortunado ❤️.

Hola amiga, una película que me llamo micho la atención y justo vi otra reseña, donde la historia y la trama de la misma es increíble y me gusto como logran llevar todo mediante el destino y la probabilidad de encontrar ese amor, sin duda las cosas no serán nada fácil y me gustaría verla y ver que pasará allí con esos jóvenes. Además en 4 minutos pueden pasar muchas cosas ajajaj.
Pues sí algunas cosas en 4 minutos que pueden dar felicidad y otras tristezas jajaja.
Te la recomiendo, está en Netflix.
