Hoy quiero hablarles sobre una joya que encontré ayer en Netflix y vi porque suelo seleccionar algo que me gusta y luego explorar películas similares. Como soy 100% fanática de las películas y series de intriga, suspenso y crimen, paso mucho tiempo en eso, y ya el algoritmo me conoce, jajaja. Hace poco vi una miniserie llamada "No hables con extraños," y fue precisamente por ver esta miniserie, que también les recomiendo, que Netflix me llevó a la que acabo de ver. Por cierto, ambas son de los mismos creadores, por eso ambas me tuvieron enganchada. Sin más, les digo el nombre... "Quédate Cerca."

Today, I want to talk to you about a gem I found on Netflix yesterday. I watched it because I usually pick something I like and then delve into similar films. Recently, I watched a miniseries called "Don't Talk to Strangers," and it was precisely because of watching this miniseries, which I also recommend, that Netflix led me to the one I just watched. By the way, both are from the same creators, which is why both had me hooked. Without further ado, I'll reveal the name—drumroll, please—"Stay Close."

Curiosamente, ambas miniseries llevan nombres que reflejan los mismos consejos que nos daban nuestros padres y que nosotros le damos a nuestros hijos: está cerca, no hables con extraños, no aceptes dulces de extraños, etc. Las tramas tienen algo en común, y es que a veces creemos conocer a las personas cuando no es así. Puede que tengas un vecino bonachón, carismático, pero no tienes idea de los demonios que puede llevar por dentro.

Leí sobre esta serie porque, como les dije anteriormente, me trae cierta similitud con la anterior, y al ser de los mismos creadores, quería saber si hay otras producciones o adaptaciones que pueda ver en cualquiera de las plataformas disponibles. Ahora, centrándome en "Quédate cerca," su historia gira en torno a tres personajes principales que pareciera que esconden grandes secretos. Y sí, algunos de ellos los guardan. El drama comienza porque hubo un chico desaparecido exactamente en la misma fecha que otro hombre, con la diferencia de que el primero fue 17 años atrás. Cabe destacar que estos tres personajes están de una u otra forma involucrados.

! [ENGLISH] Now, focusing on "Stay Close," its story revolves around three main characters who seem to hide significant secrets. And yes, some of them do. The drama begins because a boy went missing exactly on the same date as another man, with the difference being that the first one was 17 years ago. It's worth noting that these three characters are involved in one way or another.

Antes de profundizar en los personajes, les cuento que la miniserie consta de 8 capítulos entre 38 y 53 minutos cada uno, que te mantendrán atado desde el principio hasta el final. Así que te recomiendo verla un domingo o un día en que estés en casa sin ningún plan. De verdad que te vas a entretener.

¿Alguna vez te has preguntado cuánto conoces realmente a tu pareja? ¿Estás seguro de que no guarda secretos contigo? Estas son preguntas que rodean a Megan, madre de tres hijos, que, aunque tiene muchos años conviviendo con el padre de sus hijos, recientemente aceptó comprometerse en matrimonio por alguna misteriosa razón.

These are questions surrounding Megan, a mother of three, who, despite many years living with the father of her children, recently accepted a marriage proposal for some mysterious reason.

Broome, este personaje es el detective involucrado en el caso de hace 17 años, y es él quien ata cabos para poder relacionar ese viejo caso con el actual, cosa que nadie aprueba porque él sencillamente no puede dejar de pasar ese caso sin resolver. Y por último, pero no menos importante, está Ray, un fotógrafo con mucho talento, pero que por un incidente del pasado lo cambió por completo, dejándolo hundido en un trabajo mediocre y sin mucho futuro.

[ENGLIS] Broome, this character is the detective involved in the case from 17 years ago, and he's the one who connects the old case to the current one, something no one approves of because he simply can't let go of that unresolved case. Last but not least is Ray, a talented photographer whose past incident completely changed him, leaving him stuck in a mediocre job with an uncertain future.

Esta serie tiene dos elementos que me mantuvieron en suspenso. Uno, que es super importante en cualquier película, es la banda sonora y efectos de sonido. Muy al estilo de Dark, te deja a la expectativa. Y el otro, definitivamente, casi todos los personajes tienen un lado oscuro que ocultar o, al menos, eso es lo que hacen pensar, haciendo que todos y a la vez ninguno parezca culpable de las desapariciones.

! [ENGLISH] This series has two elements that kept me in suspense. One, which is super important in any movie, is the soundtrack and sound effects. Very much like Dark, it leaves you in anticipation. And the other, almost all the characters definitely have a dark side to hide, or at least, that's what they make you think, making everyone and no one seem guilty of the disappearances.

Las pistas que te va dando la serie son geniales, y si eres inteligente, puede que descubras quién está detrás de todo antes de llegar al 8vo capítulo. Así que, si eres fanático de este thriller, no dudes en entrar a la plataforma de Netflix y disfrutar de esta intrigante miniserie que yo le daría 5 estrellas por trama, fotografía, interpretación, efectos de sonido y desenlace.
