THE SETTING FOR A MOVIE IS VERY CRUCIAL.

One of the things I love doing is watching movies, I don’t know what will make me not watch at least a movie in a week. In fact, I have been trying to work on my movie addiction.

Being a movie lover, there are certain things I look for in movies, like plot/storyline, theme, editing, dialogue, setting of the movie, character’s acting, and of course character’s beauty, heheh. But let’s talk about the setting of the movie.

The setting of a movie is one of the crucial things that matter in a movie, There are a lot of types of settings in movies like fantasy settings, digital settings, urban/city settings, rural/village settings, etc. These settings contribute to the overall mood of the movie and these settings can also differ according to preference.

But if I were to choose between the city setting or village setting, which one would I go for?

Personally, it so hard to choose because both settings are good in their own way, if there is a good storyline to go along with it. There are some storyline that does fit in with village setting ( just like historical and cultural stories) while there are also some ones that does fit in with city setting(just like technology and modern stories)

One main reason I would prefer city setting to village setting is that city setting is always lively, always flashy and filled with energy, this makes the film more attractive and automatically fun to watch.

But for village setting, the only thing that can seems interesting is the storyline itself not the surroundings in particular, because the environment are usually not aesthetically pleasing to the eye, although sometimes one might be fantasise by the culture of other village but when the storyline itself is not interesting, the environment might not be able to do so much.

Let me say this in another way.

When I am watching a quite boring movie and the setting of the movie is a village setting, I don’t tend to finish the movie because the environment just makes it boring but when I am watching a boring movie and the setting is a city setting, I might watch the movie to the end because all those ‘shiny shiny and blink blink’ things keeps me going.

Another thing is that, you can learn about new things like fashion trends and Inspiration, learn more about new technology, current lifestyle, you can also learn about how other countries are doing.

Movie with city setting can be very relatable, they are mostly everyday scenarios that you can learn one or two things from. You can know about the current things other countries or city do, like their current language, their current lifestyle and their economy.

But like I said, it is quite hard to choose. I love cultural things and mostly movie with village settings teach and maintain the culture. They still keep the culture of the next generation to understand how the old generation lives, which a very beautiful thing to do.

In a nutshell, both of the settings are very nice but if I were to choose, I’ll probably go with the city setting, it keeps me updated on how life is going, hehe, (maybe because I have watched a lot of movie with village setting and each of their culture remains the same, you can’t really improve a culture).

True that. I like the city setting for the sole reason that I can relate to everyday life. The things that transpire is easy to relate with because we experience it daily.

Such a beautiful point right there, highlighting what makes the rural movie setting differ from that of the urban life and some benefits of it.
