I have been asked many times when FREECHAIN will be available publicly and patience has finally paid off for those that have waited!
The Freechain film will be available for public viewership from January 1. - January 15. during our first festival showing.
It is actually
Extremely Important
to get as many people from the #Hive community to watch it and vote for it (maybe they like other films as well) because it has a chance to get in the seasonal festival that is observed by a major production company from the UK.
Seasonal winners of this festival have gone on to even win Oscars.
Freechain obviously, I dont think is that type of film (its more commercially viable imo) but getting eyes on it from these guys would be amazing for us.
This is a preliminary festival and audience votes assure consideration from the organizers for it to go forward. Freechain will be on Vimeo on demand and ill share the link once I get it.
Ill see if we can use Zealy to somehow help out with this. Just need to figure out how.

The cost to view all the festival entries as well as Freechain will be between 12-15 USD. Ill see if we can get some funds available for those that want to watch it but cant afford it from Value Plan. @guiltyparties
I cant promise anything right now.
At least for those that are themselves in the film in the community segment everyone recorded.
Once I receive the link I will ping everyone that has been involved with the film in any way, shown interest, provided their own videos.
So look forward to a post mass tagging everyone. I know everyone loves those. 😅

We are ready! Our army of users will swarm the voting so that Freechain has a chance to shine. I'm hyped to see this finally. This is the kind of thing I'm going to be able to share with people when they ask me wtf Hive is. Having a high-quality story to send them in the form of a film will be fantastic. Thanks to everyone involved for making this possible.
One question... Will we be able to watch for free on Vimeo in one week? Or we must pay 12-15 USD next week and then at a later date we can watch through the Vimeo link?
That is what im hoping for. Im just concerned that the 12 dollar ticket for the festival might turn some people off. Hive has treated many really well over the years so my hope is they are able to give back a bit this way.
The film wont be available for free any time in the near future as long as it is on the festival circuit. Our hope is that it is never free as it would mean it was picked up for distribution. :)
What you pay next week is for the whole festival that will have dozens of other indie films.
Gotcha. Well $12 can be earned from a blog post or two by most. There shouldn’t be too many excuses. I know I’m in!

That's right, it's something that just needs a willing mind, I don't think the money would be a problem. Let's hope more people are interested in supporting this

Is there a compelling reason to not just post it on 3Speak?
Posting it on 3speak right now would be akin to burning all the HBD given to make this.
The film commercial value would drop to zero, no film festival would take the film, no distributor would look at it, its reach would be miniscule and basically no one outside Hive would ever see it.
If Freechain is never available for free we did an amazing job. If its available for free in 6-8 months we did only a good job. 😅
Are you guys planning on selling this to amazon prime or maybe netflix like services. I know a lot of those are not easy to get into. But there must be other options? I also thought spreading it to free to air cable channels can also be a good option for reaching out to more places.
Its not easy to get into those places but we are looking at other options as well. Festivals are a good place to find distributors.
There are some options with aggregators that push out the film similarly to distributors.
So there are options. Right now we want to get in as many festivals as we can. Ofc not all will accept us but we hope that many will.
I'm so looking forward to viewing this and getting us to achieve our goal. I'm sure the zealy campaign will be of great help, let's see what Eric has to say.
I am excited to watch this movie, although we need to wait after all the festival showings to be shared with newbies who cannot afford it or are not yet on Hive, it will surely be a worthy movie to share.
