I was drawn in by the cast ensemble in this film, and i loved it, but someone was unusually calm. It was Charles Okocha A.K.A. Mr. Phenomenal. The dude had no business being that quiet. Lol

SYNOPSIS

Muri (Kunle Remi) is a petty thief who is perceived to be an olóriburukú (an unfortunate fellow) in his neighborhood.
He would do anything to impress his girlfriend Salewa (Kie-Kie).

Muri, during one of his escapades in the community shopping mall, would then seize an opportunity at a car theft.
This spirals quickly into a kïdnap case as unbeknownst to Muri, the son of a popular celebrity Chidinma (Bisola Aiyeola) who is also a product influencer himself, Cole (Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga) was at the back seat of the car.
Cole had covered himself up playing some computer game and pulling some stunt at his grandmother (played by Gloria Anozie-Young).

A frantic search for Cole and the Changan CS55 SUV car soon sets in with Detective Offor (Femi Jacob) taking the lead.

Grab a popcorn and go see the movie to find out how it played on.

MY REVIEW

While this movie is enjoyable, engaging, entertaining, and interesting, it is equally funny and chaotic!

Kunle Remi did great in his role interpretation. It seemed to me like he took some coaching lessons from Bimbo Ademoye’s skit character “Iya Barakat Terropi Secxxion!” which I have seen a few episodes of and from yhence, I find the accent he used to be similar.
It somewhat worked in his favor, though, as it appears the character was a new terrain for him (something out of his comfort zone).

I appreciate how Muri did not want Cole to emulate him in stealing. However, the delivery was not very believable or realistic.

I loved how the movie subtly touched on Stockholm Syndrome, where supposed victims or preys turn around to defend their captors or predators. This was shown in the pen-ultimate scene of the movie.

Most of the actors played their parts well as per the material given, but I particularly enjoyed Femi Jacob as I find he was effortlessly funny yet mature.

The movie is star-studded that veteran actress Gloria Young had to play a cameo role when she clearly could have been featured more than that.
It made me wonder if she was engaged in some other project that the producers were unable to get more screen time from her. That's by the way.

I want to believe Cole snuck into the car. But this isn’t the case cause the first question Dinma asked was “Where is Cole?”

Now my question is, why was he covered in a blanket at the backseat initially? I'm guessing that that was a case of convenience on the part of the writer to explain why Muri did not see him at the backseat at first. To me, however, it didn't quite add up.

Bucci Franklin, who played Cole’s dad, in my opinion, did not really shine in this movie considering his performance in the film, 'Far From Home” as Mr. Government.

Like in my opening statement, Charles Okocha was rather a different person from his well-known character of Mr. Phenomenal. I would have loved to see that side of him in this movie mostly because it would have blended well with the character of Chukwudi he played here.

The little boy did great but needs more coaching so as to be natural.
Kiekie was just very “Kie-Kie” here as she was as loud as ever.

Overall, this was a good one, but it could have been a whole lot better.
I’ll give this a 7/10

I hope that this was interesting to read. Thank you for coming around.

A truly interesting review. I love Kunle Remi's acting and Bisola is nothing if not a natural. But, I can understand that we still have a long way to go in terms of concrete, airtight plot because there are still a lot of discrepancies. Nicely done. Thank you for sharing!✨
