Hello Cinetv friends, it was a little difficult for me to remember a movie with this theme of the contest, but among the much I thought, I remembered that more than a year ago while I was looking for something to watch in the Netflix catalog, I found this curious movie that generated many types of emotions in me. I hope you enjoy my review.
Hola amigos de Cinetv, me fue un poco difícil recordar una pelicula con esta tematica del concurso, pero entre lo mucho que pensé, recordé que hace más de un año mientras que yo buscaba algo que ver en el catalogo de Netflix, encontré ésta curiosa película que me generó muchos tipos de emociones. Espero que disfruten mi reseña.
"Don't Look Up" is a satirical comedy directed by Adam McKay that was released in 2021. The film features an all-star cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill, Timothée Chalamet, and many other talented actors. The plot revolves around two scientists who discover a comet that is heading directly towards Earth and that could wipe out all life on the planet. As they attempt to warn humanity of the impending catastrophe, they face indifference, disbelief, and manipulation from the powerful.
The premise of "Don't Look Up" is a clear metaphor for the denial of science and the lack of action in the face of global crises such as climate change. The film addresses topics such as misinformation, political corruption, human selfishness and the prioritization of personal interests over collective well-being. Through a sarcastic tone and dark humor, McKay criticizes contemporary society and its inability to face urgent and real problems.

The best thing about the film is the brilliant cast, who deliver strong and convincing performances. Lo mejor de la película es el brillante elenco, que ofrece interpretaciones sólidas y convincentes. DiCaprio y Lawrence destacan por su química en pantalla y su capacidad para transmitir la angustia y desesperación de sus personajes. Meryl Streep brilla como la presidenta de Estados Unidos, ofreciendo una actuación hilarante y aterradora a partes iguales.
