2 Promising On-Air K-Drama
Safe to say, I was completely cut off from K-drama and on-going series but now I’ve been back on the game, I started following K-drama again. I have to say that lately, there’s not that many K-dramas that are actually intriguing to watch. After Taxi Driver 2, which I think was a flop, it was difficult to find something worthwhile to watch. Even the recent Bitch X Rich was also dry and awfully made and though it’s still on-air, I decided not to continue watching it. But about a few weeks ago, a promising title entered the list, Numbers and Miraculous Brothers. Numbers is now currently on its 4th episode and on viu they air every weekend. Meanwhile, Miraculous brothers is currently on its 2nd episode and is airing every Wednesday to Thursday. So while waiting for another episode of Numbers, you can watch Miraculous Brothers.
Numbers is a workplace corporate drama centered around the life of Jang Ho-Woo (Kim Myung-Soo) who started from a tumultuous and humble beginning. As a kid he got adopted by a man at the construction site who found him. Though attempts were made to find the actual parents of Ho-Woo, they couldn't find anything. In the end, he grew up alongside Jang In-Ho. his adoptive dad, Song Yeo-Jin, adoptive sister and a friend, Kong Hee-Sam. In-Ho was working in a construction business and one day, because a report from an accounting company Taeil Accounting which reported that the construction must be stopped, the man who was delivering the news was the Han Seung-Jo(Choi Jin-Hyuk), a worker at Taeil Accounting but also the son of the vice president of Taeil. After Seung-Jo delivered the note that the construction went bankrupt, In-Ho went to the site late and night and killed himself. Young Ho-woo found the body of his adoptive father and was pretty devastated. From there, he was motivated to become an accountant to unveil the mystery as to what happened to his adoptive father.
However, I personally think the story won’t just stop there. Along the line, there has to be a reason for the actual beginning from Ho-woo. It’s something that I am sure a lot of viewers are wanting to find out. The poster tells me it feels something like Reborn Rich style but who knows? Anything can happen at this drama at this point from the current episodes, it’s hard to see the ending. It’ll only become apparent once it reaches 5-8 ep. Anyhow, I would recommend this drama if you like the workplace, mystery and thriller genre. There’s also Choi Jin-Hyuk in this drama and to me, it’s also the reason why I was drawn to it. I want to see how he performs in this one as he takes different roles in every K-drama and some of them were good such as in Zombie detective and also The Last Empress.
Miraculous brothers is quite an odd one. I would never have thought that from the poster it was a fantasy K-drama. It starts with a story of Yook Dong-Ju(Jung Woo), a struggling author who has to work multiple jobs. One night, he stumbled upon a boy, who was knocked unconscious and was brought to the hospital. He was pronounced dead but miraculously woke up. This mysterious boy Kang San (Bae Hyun-Sung ), apparently wakes up hearing voices and seeing people’s past and suddenly possessing a mysterious ability in which he was compelled to help others. At first Dong-Ju didn’t know about it but after attempting to visit Kang San, Dong Ju found out about this mysterious ability. Will Kang san find out who he is and how he got his abilities?
I have personally only watched a few of Jung Woo’s movies including Coach Jegal. His acting was good on that one so I am hoping it would be the same. Meanwhile, Hyun-Sung is a promising actor with a few famous K-dramas that he has starred in such as hospital playlists and The divine Furry. Though his list isn’t as extensive as Jung Woo, they seem to have a decent chemistry. Whereas the story itself is quite fresh and I am looking forward to the direction that they’re going to take with the sudden “superpower” that the protagonist has.
There’s also Durian’s affair that after the 1st episode I got so confused with the time loop. It’s also not as intriguing as the others. It also seems overly dramatic so I won’t recommend y'all that one.

Haha I thought I was the only one who thought about Reborn Rich while I read through the storyline you shared... Numbers will definitely be worth seeing, I'm looking forward to seeing it.
The second series seem interesting too, like a korean ghost series I saw some time ago.
Thanks for sharing this 🙌
Numbers is definitely more promising than the others. I mean, there's just a lot with the second one and the fact that it sounds like W but we'll see how that goes. Let me know if you have watched numbers :)
Alright, I will
Definitely looking forward to watching Numbers. Your review makes me know that it will surely be an intriguing tale.
And as for the second one, I've been drawn to Fantasy dramas since I watched Alchemy of Souls so I'm looking forward to seeing this too.
Thanks for sharing. Successfully added to my watchlist.🌺
Some fantasy drama is good but some are meh. Also, numbers is definitely worth watching. It's an underdog workplace drama and pretty inspiring too.
