My Four Favorite Soundtrack (ESP/ENG)

Music in films is much more than a mere accompaniment, it is actually a very important element that helps to highlight the feelings that emerge in certain scenes, gives emphasis to the dialogues and even becomes a seal of identity. Who doesn't think of Titanic when listening to "My Heart will go" on, or The Bodyguard when listening "I will allways love you" by Witney Houstons? The music in films is as important as the photography because it helps to set the story. Today I have prepared for you a selection of my 4 favourite soundtracks, although in order not to extend myself too much I will make special emphasis on the main themes that after all were the ones that identified those films and made them unforgettable 😊.
La música en las películas es mucho más que un mero acompañamiento, en realidad se trata de un elemento importantísimo que ayuda a resaltar los sentimientos que afloran en determinadas escenas, le dan énfasis a los diálogos e incluso se convierten en un sello de identidad ¿Quién no piensa en Titanic al escuchar "My Heart will go on", o en El Guardaespaldas al escuchar "I will allways love you" de Witney Houston? La musicalización en las peliculas es tan importante como la fotografía porque ayudan a ambientar la historia. El día de hoy he preparado para ustedes una selección de mis 4 soundtracks favoritos, aunque para no extenderme demasiado haré especial énfasis en los temas principales que al fin y al cabo fueron los que identificaron dichos films y los volvieron inolvidables 😊

Hans Zimmer is the composer of this masterpiece called "He's a Pirate" which begins with a crescendo melody that serves as a perfect prelude to an epic battle in the middle of the ocean, it lives up to its name because it has the word "Pirates" in every chord and perfectly accompanies the scenes of Jack Sparrow, but what I like most about this theme is that it also works as an element to accompany Jack's chase scenes because it evokes a real threat, a danger that is approaching, even as a viewer you can feel your pulse quickening along with the protagonist's. Do you realise the importance of a good soundtrack?
Hans Zimmer es el compositor de esta obra maestra llamada "He's a Pirate" que comienza con una melodía in crescendo que sirve como preludio perfecto a una batalla épica en medio del océano, le hace honor a su nombre porque tiene la palabra "Piratas" en cada acorde y acompaña perfectamente las escenas de Jack Sparrow, pero lo que más me gusta de este tema es que también funciona como elemento para acompañar las escenas de persecución de Jack porque evoca una amenaza real, un peligro que se acerca, incluso, como espectador puedes sentir que tu pulso se acelera junto con el del protagonista ¿se dan cuenta de la importancia de una buena banda sonora?

It is one of the most representative songs in pop culture but at the same time it is one of the most motivational songs in the world (at least in my humble opinion). Who doesn't feel more energetic doing a workout routine while listening to this song? 😆 I like this song because I think it represents very well, both in the lyrics and in the music that feeling of overcoming Rocky Balboa, who knows he has to give everything in the ring, he has to prepare very well, it will not be easy but he has to put all his efforts to try to become a champion, the music is full of energy and dynamism, it is for that reason that I feel it is the perfect accompaniment to the scenes in which the protagonist prepares physically for the big fight. The main theme of this film, performed by the band Survivornos, teaches us that we must not give up.
Es una de las canciones más representativas de la cultura pop pero al mismo tiempo es una de las más motivadoras del mundo (al menos en mi humilde opinión) ¿Quién no se siente más lleno de energía haciendo una rutina de ejercicios mientras escucha esta canción? 😆 Me gusta esta canción porque pienso que representa muy bien, tanto en la letra como en la música ese sentimiento de superación de Rocky Balboa, que sabe que tiene que darlo todo en el ring, que tiene que prepararse muy bien, que no será nada fácil pero tiene que poner todo su empeño en intentar volverse un campeón, la música está llena de energía y dinamismo, es por esa razón que siento que es el acompañamiento perfecto de las escenas en las cuales el protagonista se prepara físicamente para la gran pelea. El tema principal de esta película, interpretado pro la banda Survivor nos enseña que no debemos rendirnos.
2) Un poco loco "Coco"
In general the whole soundtrack of this film was brilliant, full of many nuances but above all they knew how to use the rhythms very well to capture the folkloric magic of Mexican music, I am not Mexican, but as a Latin American I feel identified in some way. My favourite song of the whole soundtrack is "Un poco loco" performed by Anthony Gonzales (Miguel) and Gael García Bernal (Héctor Rivera) because it represents the joy of Latinos and Mexicans in particular. In this scene, Miguel wants to do something different in the talent competition, he wants to stand out with his song, not follow the same cycle as the others who used the same song, so he chooses to get his audience dancing and he does it well. In the English version they included words in Spanish, something that we Latinos appreciate a lot because it is a characteristic and unique seal, I really loved this song.
En general toda la banda sonora de esta película fue brillante, lleno de muchos matices pero sobre todo supieron usar muy bien los ritmos para capturar la magia folklorica de la música mexicana, no soy mexicana, pero como latinoamericana me siento identificada de alguna manera. Mi tema favorito de todo el soundtrack es "Un poco loco" interpretado por Anthony Gonzales (Miguel) y Gael García Bernal (Héctor Rivera) porque representa la alegría de los latinos y de los mexicanos en especial. En esta escena, Miguel quiere hacer algo diferente en la competencia de talento, quiere destacarse con su canción, no seguir el mismo ciclo de los demás que usaron la misma canción, así que opta por poner a bailar a su audiencia y vaya que lo hace bien. En la versión en inglés incluyeron palabras en español, algo que los latinos apreciamos mucho porque es un sello característico y único, de verdad amé este tema.

And we come to my favourite, as some of you know I'm a big fan of the whole Harry Potter universe, so I had to include it in this top. Of all the melodies that have been included in the eight films of the franchise, there is one in particular that gives us the creeps (in a good way) is "Hedwig's Theme" composed by the great John Williams, as its name suggests is dedicated to Hedwig (Harry Potter's owl) but is also used as a prelude in each film and is the best hallmark of the franchise, it is impressive how the melody of the beginning evokes magic, and this is because William included among the musical instruments the Celesta, which is a kind of antique piano whose sound is reminiscent of the harpsichord or even a music box, but later the melody gains strength and power, just like Harry himself, who is introduced in this new world, completely unknown to him, being completely insecure, but as he learns to know himself, his new capabilities, he gains more confidence in himself and discovers his own strength. I love this opening theme 😍 listening to that succession of sounds you can almost imagine the spells emerging from the wands.
Y llegamos a mi favorita, como algunos de ustedes saben soy muy fan de todo el universo de Harry Potter, de modo que debía incluirlo en este top. De todas las melodías que se han incluido en las ocho películas de la franquicia, hay una en particular que nos pone los pelos de punta (en el buen sentido) se trata de "El tema de Hedwig" compuesto por el gran John Williams, tal como su nombre lo indica está dedicado a Hedwig (la lechuza de Harry Potter) pero también es usada como preludio en cada película y es el mejor sello de identidad de la franquicia, es impresionante como la melodía del inicio evoca magia, y esto se debe a que William incluyó entre los instrumentos musicales la Celesta, que es una especie de piano antiguo cuyo sonido recuerda al clavicordio o incluso a una caja de música, pero posteriormente la melodía va adquiriendo fuerza y poder, tal como el propio Harry, que se introduce en este mundo nuevo, completamente desconocido ante él, siendo completamente inseguro, pero a medida que aprende a conocerse a si mismo, a sus nuevas capacidades, adquiere más confianza en sí mismo y descubre su propia fortaleza. Amo este tema de apertura 😍 al escuchar esa sucesión de sonidos casi puedes imaginar los hechizos emergiendo de las varitas.
