Es una película de animación del Studio Ghibli, dirigida por Hayao Miyazaki lanzada en el 2004, basada en la novela del mismo nombre de Diana Wynne Jones. Caracterizada por una exquisita banda sonora y una animación espectacular que hace que te sumerjas en un mundo de magia, tecnología, fantasía y paisajes hermosos en un ambiente de guerra.
La historia gira en torno a Sophie quien tiene 18 años de edad y trabaja confeccionando sombreros y vive una vida tranquila. Sophie es hechizada por una bruja, quien la convierte en anciana, y a la vez le pone una condición en la cual no podrá contarle a nadie sobre el hechizo, por lo que decide irse de su hogar, encontrando refugio en el hogar del mago Howl, un castillo ambulante.

Análisis de algunos de los personajes más resaltantes.
Sophie
Al inicio de la película Sophie refleja muchas inseguridades, duda de ella misma y de sus capacidades, no se siente hermosa, es callada y tímida. Es muy amable y sensible y se preocupa por el bienestar de los demás.
A través de sus experiencias como anciana va adquiriendo experiencia y sabiduría al punto de volverse fuerte y decidida, cualidades que Sophie siempre ha tenido pero que estaban escondidas en su interior.
En la película se puede apreciar que el hechizo sobre Shophie se desvanece en los momentos en que es ella misma, como por ejemplo cuando duerme o cuando saca una actitud fuerte ante los peligros, toma decisiones y defiende sus ideas con mucha confianza, luego cuando ella vuelve a dudar de si misma adquiere su aspecto envejecido. Cuando por fin logra romper su maldición conserva su pelo blanco simbolizando la sabiduría que ha obtenido mientras tenía su hechizo.
Howl:
Howl es un poderoso mago, con una personalidad energética y carismática. Odia la guerra, por lo que decide tomar partido saboteando naves de guerra y enfrentándose a otros magos que han sacrificado su humanidad. Howl es perseguido por su antigua maestra de magia Madame Suliman, maga del reino interesada en que Howl utilice sus habilidades para la guerra y por este negarse Madame Suliman quiere despojarlo de sus poderes mágicos, por lo que se la pasa huyendo.
Sophie considera al inicio de la película a Howl como alguien vanidoso, atractivo y malcriado pero esto cambia a medida de que desarrolla sentimientos y lo va conociendo.

Es un niño huérfano, aprendiz de magia del mago Howl, hace diversas tareas en el hogar de Howl, como atender a las personas con pedidos de magia y a los enviados del rey.
La bruja del páramo:
Codiciosa y arrogante segada por el poder y la ambición de la magia hasta que es despojada de sus poderes, en el fondo es alguien de buen corazón, obsesionada por tomar el corazón de Howl.
A medida de que se va desarrollando la película poco a poco Sophie se va enamorando y descubriendo los secretos de Holw y terminan ayudándose mutuamente, este a su vez también se enamora de Shopie a quien ha buscado por mucho tiempo durante su vida porque sabía que ella lo salvaría.
Opinión personal:
El castillo ambulante logra trasmitir al espectador una gran cantidad de emociones a través de escenas conmovedoras y bonitas, acompañado de mensajes llenos de valores y amor. Esta película toca el tema de la guerra dejándonos ver que ninguna guerra tiene sentido y que son promovidas por intereses de grupos reducidos de personas, siendo los únicos beneficiados.
Cada vez que se ve la película se descubre nuevos elementos y perspectivas que nos hacen sumergirnos completamente en la trama. Es una película que se puede ver en familia ya que se disfrutará totalmente y es apto para todas las edades, posee un final muy hermoso y feliz lleno de esperanzas.
Esta película contiene muchas metáforas y significados ocultos, el castillo ambulante el hogar de howl se puede concebir como un reflejo de su interior, viajando en brusquedad de ese motivo o anhelo interior que cada ser humano tiene, esta proyección la podemos identificar en elementos como el estado desordenado y descuidado que tiene el castillo hasta que Shopie llega y empieza a organizar y limpiar el desorden de su hogar, interactuando con los personajes dentro del castillo Calcifer representando el corazón de howl en forma de una llama que arde manteniendo el castillo , el personaje de Marcos se pudiera tomar como que representa la inocencia y el niño interior que vive en adentro de nosotros, el portal oscuro que se puede visualizar en la película como una puerta hacia el interior de Howl, gracias a este portal oscuro Shophie conecta el pasado con el presente, uniendo todas las piezas que necesita para salvar a Howl.

When she finally manages to break her curse she keeps her white hair symbolizing the wisdom she has gained while under her spell.
Howl:
Howl is a powerful wizard, with an energetic and charismatic personality. He hates war, so he decides to take sides by sabotaging warships and confronting other mages who have sacrificed their humanity. Howl is pursued by his former magic teacher Madame Suliman, a magician of the kingdom interested in Howl using his skills for war and for refusing Madame Suliman wants to strip him of his magical powers, so he is on the run.
Sophie views Howl at the beginning of the film as vain, attractive and spoiled but this changes as she develops feelings and gets to know him
Calcifer:
A fire demon, who is bound and tied to Howl, he is the one who keeps the castle moving, being a guardian who keeps the castle warm, safe, hidden and energized.

Marco:

As the film unfolds Sophie slowly falls in love and discovers Holw's secrets and they end up helping each other, Holw in turn also falls in love with Shopie whom he has searched for a long time during his life because he knew she would save him.
Personal opinion:
The traveling castle manages to transmit to the spectator a great amount of emotions through touching and beautiful scenes, accompanied by messages full of values and love. This film touches on the subject of war, showing us that no war makes sense and that they are promoted by the interests of small groups of people, who are the only ones who benefit from them.
Each time you watch the film you discover new elements and perspectives that make us completely immerse ourselves in the plot. It is a movie that can be watched with the family as it is enjoyable and suitable for all ages, it has a very beautiful and happy ending full of hope.
