Aprovechando que ya las vacaciones están por terminar, le dije a mi hija para ir al cine, un paseo que teníamos mucho tiempo que no hacíamos juntas.
Invitamos a mi hermana y a mi sobrino ahijado, así que comenzamos a buscar que película ver, mi hija quería ver Barbie desde su estreno, sin embargo yo estaba en asuntos académicos que no me permitieron llevarla en ese momento y se lo debía. Mi sobrino por otra parte, no quería verla, renuente dijo “vayan ustedes yo me quedo con mi abuela”… pero esa no era la idea, él quería ver Blue Beetle.
Así que mi hija y yo, fuimos a ver Barbie.
Aun cuando habíamos escuchado la cantidad y variedad de comentarios sobre la película decidimos verla y tener nuestra propia opinión al respecto.
Nos fuimos a Cines Unidos y cuando llegamos le dije que quería una foto en la publicidad del cine, porque quería la experiencia completa, ella no quiso tomarse foto.
Compramos el Combo para 2 y los dulces, subimos al segundo piso y como la sala no estaba abierta nos tuvimos que esperar en la sala, allí aproveche de tomar más fotitos.
Por fin entramos y desde que comenzó la película me percate del bombardeo de mensajes de diferentes índoles, el mensaje principal para mí era el que nos invita a reflexionar sobre el autodescubrimiento ante una crisis existencial.
Barbielandia fue lo único que me hizo recordar cuando jugaba de niña con las muñecas, algunas partes eran divertidas y otras un poco profundas, definitivamente uno es una película para niños.
Me llamo la atención que en la sala se encontraban una buena cantidad de hombres, no habían niños, algunas pocas adolescentes y la mayoría eran mujeres.
Cuando termino la película salimos y un silencio total que se rompió al salir del centro comercial cuando mi hija dijo “no puedo comentar la película porque aún sigo digiriendo tanta información”… Me parece interesante que la película logro tener diversas opiniones, cada una según la situación que más le llamo la atención a quienes la vieron.
Al día siguiente, fuimos al cine otra vez, esta vez con mi hermana y mi sobrino ahijado.
Particularmente no me llama la atención las películas de superhéroes, sin embargo Blue Beetle en español Escarabajo Azul, era la película que nuestros invitados querían ver.
A pesar de que no estaba muy convencida, lo primero que me saco una sonrisa alegre fue ver que la familia era de apellido Reyes, como nosotros. Siendo latinos me identifique con sus chistes y forma de vivir, así que por ahí de alguna manera fue divertida, por lo menos me hizo reír, además que los efectos especiales me parecieron buenos.
Esta vez a la salida del cine, si comentamos la película, aun cuando estábamos en la casa recordábamos con los niños las escenas cómicas.

Taking advantage of the fact that the vacations are about to end, I told my daughter to go to the movies, a trip that we had not done together for a long time.
We invited my sister and my godson nephew, so we started looking for what movie to see, my daughter wanted to see Barbie since its premiere, however I was in academic matters that did not allow me to take her at that time and I owed her. My nephew on the other hand, didn't want to see it, reluctantly said "you guys go I'll stay with my grandmother"... but that wasn't the idea, he wanted to see Blue Beetle.
So my daughter and I went to see Barbie.
Even though we had heard the amount and variety of comments about the movie we decided to see it and have our own opinion about it.
We went to Cines Unidos and when we arrived I told her that I wanted a picture in the movie theater advertisement, because I wanted the whole experience, she did not want to take a picture.
We bought the Combo for 2 and the candy, we went up to the second floor and as the theater was not open we had to wait in the theater, there I took the opportunity to take more pictures.
Finally we entered and since the movie started I noticed the bombardment of messages of different kinds, the main message for me was the one that invites us to reflect on self-discovery in the face of an existential crisis.
Barbielandia was the only thing that reminded me of playing with dolls as a child, some parts were funny and others a little deep, definitely a movie for children.
I was struck by the fact that there were a good amount of men in the room, no children, a few teenage girls and most of them were women.
When the movie ended we went out and a total silence was broken when we left the mall when my daughter said "I can't comment on the movie because I am still digesting so much information"... I find it interesting that the movie managed to have diverse opinions, each one according to the situation that most caught the attention of those who saw it.
The next day, we went to the movies again, this time with my sister and my godson's nephew.
I am not particularly interested in superhero movies, however Blue Beetle was the movie that our guests wanted to see.
Although I was not very convinced, the first thing that made me smile was to see that the family was named Reyes, like us. Being Latinos I identified with their jokes and way of life, so in a way it was funny, at least it made me laugh, plus I thought the special effects were good.
This time at the exit of the cinema, we did comment the movie, even when we were at home we remembered with the kids the funny scenes.
