Only one kiss scene with so many romantic moments... I would never had thought I'll enjoy a korean series of the romance genre without kiss scenes but this one was exactly it and I totally loved it. I've only heard of "slow burn romance" in clips that recommends movies to watch but haven't really seen any movie that gave me that feeling well enough.
That was until I came across this series... I can't even say enough how much I have to say about this series and my viewer experience seeing it.
Would you want a "slow burn romance", "unexpected twist", "beautiful moments", "sad but moving scenes", "a happy ending" all in one storyline? This is the right series for you.
"A Piece Of Your Mind" also known as "Half of a half" is a 12 episode Korean drama series released in the year 2020. Focusing on the genre, romance with good touches of comedy and technology. It is mainly a romance about an artificial intelligence (AI) programmer and classical recording engineer.
An AI programmer who is unable to get over his first love creates a small tech device that has the personality of the person's voice that is installed into it. A classical recording engineer who is entangled in their love story but falls in love with the programmer and has to help and watch him get over his first love.
The storyline is better than this but I'll want you to see for yourself how much you would have missed if you didn't see it. It is a very calm, kinda dull but not boring and an interesting series. They try to show this through the calm characters, the kind of music featured in it and even down to their dressing styles.
The series is starred by the female lead, Chae Soo-bin from "I Am Not A Robot" and the male lead Jung Hae-in from "Something In The Rain" and "D.P". To be honest, I was a little skeptical to see this one because of the combination... I didn't enjoy "Something in the rain" so much but I thought a storyline about technology and Chae Soo-bin would be worth it.
I also decided to see it because I thought it was going to be about a robot falling in love with a human like "Are You Human?" It's funny and very unrealistic but I tend to enjoy storylines like that since I'm very much aware of my reality already, I don't need to see those realistic scenes in movies often to feel relaxed and better lol.
So yeah, the series may be filled with unrealistic scenes like devices responding with human personalities, traumas that got too much to handle and guy loving a childhood friend for many years and other scenes like that. But it is definitely going to be worth your time.
More to it is that, it is a short series. I actually wished it could continue but then, I love that most of the scenes were necessary. I can't even remember an unnecessary scene and I could say I have a lot of favourite scenes including where they had their first and only kiss, it was hilarious and beautiful.
How is it a slow burn romance film? The female lead fell first, she made her feelings known even though not the way she wanted to, just when she wanted to give up her unrequited love, the guy began to fall and he fell harder than you'd expect. The progress of their love was very real even in the midst of unrealistic scenes, and the chemistry between the two is a 10/10.
The cinematography is beautiful, the fashion style of the characters is simple and very homely, the supporting characters didn't fail in given memorable scenes when the leads are not there. Over all, it is the perfect series to see if you want to feel good.

In recent time I am watching dramas specially Chinese romantic dramas. After completing it I will come to Korean. So I may watch this one later. I hope I will enjoy it for sure.
