Review of "Meg 2: The Trench" movie

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well. Today, I had watching the newly released movie "Meg 2: The Trench," starring one of my favourite Hollywood heroes, Jason Statham. I wanted to share my personal opinion about the film with all of you. This movie is a sequel to "The Meg," which was released in 2018. While "Meg 2: The Trench" shares the same writer as the original, it has a different director. The central theme remains the same – dealing with stop a group of giant megalodons, which are these ancient sharks. If you haven't seen the first movie, "The Meg," I'd suggest watching it before diving into the sequel.

Before I tell you about "Meg 2", I want to mention another movie that left a strong impression on me - "Deep Blue Sea." It's a thrilling and scary movie that really gave me quite scares. Sadly, "Meg 2" didn't create the same level of excitement and fear for me. If you haven't seen "Deep Blue Sea" yet, I encourage you to give it a try.

Both movies feature the main actor, Jason Statham, who name is Jonas Taylor in both films. Additionally, few other actors and actresses you are seen in both parts. As for "Meg 2: The Trench," I quite enjoyed it. Interestingly, the movie's title doesn't entirely align with its storyline. While there are megalodons present, they play a minimal role. Surprisingly, the film features a total of four megalodons, but they don't significantly impact the plot.

Now , let's talk about the movie story (spoilers ahead if you haven't seen it) .Those who have seen the movie The Meg will understand this better. In The Meg 2
After Winston Chao and Suyin died, Suyin's brother Jiuming Zhang took over the company. And they are stopping illegal work in the sea and researching megalodons. Suyin's daughter Meiying is now much older. So Jonas Taylor and his team go on the 26th drive below the thermocline layer to research megalodons and other giant animals. So when they go there, they can see someone doing illegal mining for some precious stones worth billions of dollars. So when the illegal miners find out that Jonas' team has spotted them, they attack Jonas and his team. Many of Jonas's team members die there, but Jonas and others manage to survive. fights with their enemies. And during all these events, three megalodons move up from the thermocline layer and approach a beach. Jonas and his team go there to try to save everyone but there are megalodons, a giant octopus and some amphibious dinosaurs starting to attack the humans. In the meantime, the group of miners or villains came there. Jonas and his team fight with them there. When the villains are finished, Jonas fights the megalodons alone and kills 3 megalodons. Can't beat number 4 anymore. It goes into the sea. And this is where my story ends.

The first part of the film seems to focus more on the characters' interactions and their activities rather than the megalodons themselves. This was a bit disappointing because, after all, the megalodons are a big part of the movie's appeal. Reading this, none of you will think that this is all the story. There are a lot of twists that I haven't mentioned here. If you watch the movie, you will really like it.

You will love it in every way. Its visualisations, sound effects, fighting scenes, vfx are all amazing. No adult sin. And there is no bloody sin here. But the main story is this. In this full movie here you will see the story of Jonas and his team more than the megalodons. The first half or so of the movie is all about Jonas and his team members talking and driving, fighting, etc. but there is no story about the megalodons. You will see the megalodons in some places near the movie and in attacking mode as they attack the sea beach. Meg 2: The Trench is the worst part of this movie. And the megalodons are sound designed but there are small dinosaurs in the movie, they look like cartoons. Other than that I don't find anything bad anywhere else in the movie.

Overall, "Meg 2: The Trench" was an enjoyable watch, particularly for a family audience. Please keep in mind that this is entirely my personal opinion, and others may hold different viewpoints.
