As I have already introduced myself previously in this group series in review of AVATAR, which apparently I was not the only one who was waiting for the series because at least I saw 2 more reviews of the same series hahaha, I make a summary of my person, they call me the MuDo and I am a fanatic of cinema fiction and the fantastic world geek, nerd of all ages.

Como ya me he presentado anteriormente en este grupo de pelis y series en mi crítica de AVATAR, que por lo visto no fui el único que estaba esperando la serie porque por lo mínimo vi 2 críticas más de la misma serie jajaja, hago un resumen de mi persona, me dicen el MuDo y soy un férreo fanatico del cine la ficción y el mundo fantástico geek, nerd de todas las épocas.

That is the main premise of THE CROW film, based on the comic book of the same name created by James O'Barr. It basically tells with minor changes the same tragic story of a love violently cut short.

Sumando a esta mística y adelantos tecnológicos, la idea estética neogótica de la película y el guión no poco violento, pero a pesar de eso, con hermosos diálogos realmente buenos y filosóficos, que llevan la historia de una manera majestuosa (creo que no soy objetivo con esta película, es mi preferida de todos los tiempos), abrieron el paso a una nueva era de películas que se alimentan de su influencia, entre los cuales se destacan matrix, John wick, la serie de anime cowboy beebop, la película The Batman interpretada por Robert pattinson, y muchísimas más. Donde la violencia juega parte importante de la construcción de la ficción pero no es realmente el foco principal de la misma, sino una historia bien contada con los elementos que la acción permite para darle fuerza a la trama.

From this film 3 more sequels were made with the mythology of THE CROW but that do not tell the story of Eric but tell other tragic loves to which the entity of the Raven helps to close cycles of post-mortem revenge.

Among the actors that were rumored to play the character was Jason Momoa, among others, but Bill Skarsgård, known for playing the clown in IT, ended up taking the role, this personally raised my expectations a lot since I think he is the right actor for this type of character and taking into account the history of the character.

Pero debo decir que mis expectativas bajaron muchísimo después de ver las primeras imágenes promocionales del film.

Given that the story and above all the aesthetics of THE CROW played by Brandon Lee has a very big influence, although underhanded, in what corresponds to the cinema of this genre, including other genres such as horror for example. Dado que la historia y sobretodo la estética de EL CUERVO interpretado por Brandon Lee tiene una influencia muy grande, aunque solapada, en lo que corresponde al cine de este género, incluso otros géneros como el terror por ejemplo. La nueva caracterización y, al menos las dos imágenes que se dieron a conocer, no nos llevan a sentir como parte de la mitología de EL CUERVO esta nueva adaptación y mucho menos que sea el mismo personaje.
Tengo todavía mucha fe, sobretodo sostenida por la participación del actor principal, y por la idea que,(a partir de acá es pura conjetura y fantasía, dado que no hay más información que esas tres fotos o al menos yo no la tengo), quieran hacer un paralelismo de la estética metalera de los 80, 90, 2000 con la creciente cultura del trap/rap actual. (Si todo eso me imagino con solo 2 imágenes)

This new adaptation of THE CROW, has a release date of June 7, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the first film in the saga (I have a birthday on June 12 so I'll take it as a birthday present hahaha).
