El concurso de esta semana me emociona, ya que nuestra amiga @merit.ahama tiene dos preguntas muy entretenidas para que nosotras las respondamos. La primera captó mi atención de inmediato, ¿Soy una persona de libros o de películas? Aunque es bastante difícil de responder tratare de ser lo más honesta con mi respuesta jaja 🙈😅. Me gustaría aprovechar esta ocasión para invitar a mi amiga @erigm 💕
Hello friends of the Ladies Of Hive community 🌼, I hope you are doing well today and it's a great week for all of you. This week's contest has me excited, as our friend @merit.ahama has two very entertaining questions for us to answer. The first one caught my attention right away, Am I a book person or a movie person? Although it's quite difficult to answer I'll try to be as honest as possible with my answer haha 🙈😅. I would like to take this opportunity to invite my friend @erigm 💕

Bueno desde que tengo memoria siempre me gusto poder leer antes de ver una película, de hecho me gustaba poder disfrutar de la historia mediante la lectura y luego ver la adaptación a ver si me gustaba tanto como lo hacían los libros. Sin embargo, hoy en día soy más de ver las películas y leer libros esporádicamente, siento que disfruto de poder ver películas más que antes porque ahora he encontrado una forma de pasar el tiempo a través del cine.
Well for as long as I can remember I always liked being able to read before watching a movie, in fact I liked being able to enjoy the story by reading it and then watching the adaptation to see if I liked it as much as I did the books. However, nowadays I am more of a movie watcher and read books sporadically, I feel that I enjoy being able to watch movies more than I used to because now I have found a way to pass the time through movies.
Ahora comprar libros es un poco mas costoso y se ha vuelto popular el leer en digital por lo que muchas personas optamos por leer de esta manera pero es muy agotador hacerlo por mucho tiempo de esta forma ya que va afectando la vista, al menos eso es lo que me ha pasado a mi. Además de que hoy en día hay demasiadas opciones de libros pero solo son pocos los escritores que realmente tienen buenas ideas y saben desarrollarlas en los libros.
Nowadays buying books is a little more expensive and it has become popular to read in digital so many people choose to read this way but it is very tiring to do it for a long time in this way because it affects the eyesight, at least that's what happened to me. Besides, nowadays there are too many choices of books but there are only a few writers who really have good ideas and know how to develop them in books.
Y ni hablar del bloqueo lector, después de pasar mucho tiempo sin leer un libro se hace muy pesado comenzar con uno nuevo, pero una buena forma de hacerlo es escoger a un autor que te guste o un género que te llame la atención y comenzar a leer libros de esta manera, tal vez no a todos les funciona pero al menos a mí me parece bien poder elegir sin forzarme a leer cualquier cosa. También los géneros van cambiando, a mí me pasó que solía leer muchos libros de romance o de novelas juveniles y hoy en día me aburren demasiado, no se si es que con los años nos vamos volviendo más selectivos 🫠
And not to mention the reader's block, after spending a long time without reading a book it becomes very heavy to start with a new one, but a good way to do it is to choose an author you like or a genre that catches your attention and start reading books in this way, maybe it doesn't work for everyone but at least for me it seems good to be able to choose without forcing myself to read anything. Also the genres are changing, it happened to me that I used to read a lot of romance books or juvenile novels and nowadays they bore me too much, I don't know if it is that with the years we become more selective 🫠
Tomando en cuenta la pregunta, podría decir que soy una persona intermedia entre libros y películas, puedo estar días leyendo un libro que me interese como también puedo pasar tiempo sin hacerlo y disfrutar del mundo del cine. Me parece que está bien poder tener un balance y tener hobbies diferentes para no aburrirnos tan fácilmente. Hoy en día estoy tratando de recuperar la lectura, sobre todo poder leer libros que me llamen la atención o que tengan una buena premisa.
Taking into account the question, I could say that I am an intermediate person between books and movies, I can spend days reading a book that interests me as I can also spend time without doing it and enjoy the world of cinema. I think it's good to be able to have a balance and have different hobbies so we don't get bored so easily. Nowadays I am trying to get back into reading, especially being able to read books that catch my attention or that have a good premise.
Es bueno poder disfrutar de ambas cosas y de elegir momentos para hacer cada una, no puedo seleccionar una sola porque estaría mintiendo jaja, pero disfruto de ambas y me gusta poder aprender de las historias ya sea mediante los libros o las películas. Pero si me gusta mucho poder haber leído un buen libro y luego ver la adaptación si esta existe, para observar en pantalla cada detalle de las cosas que leí en el libro. Me gustaría también poder tener la posibilidad de comprar los libros que más me han gustado en diferentes etapas de mi vida y guardarlos para en algún momento volver a leerlos con otra perspectiva.
It's nice to be able to enjoy both and to choose moments to do each, I can't select just one because I would be lying haha, but I enjoy both and I like to be able to learn from the stories either through the books or the movies. But I really like to be able to have read a good book and then watch the adaptation if it exists, to observe on screen every detail of the things I read in the book. I would also like to be able to have the possibility to buy the books that I liked the most in different stages of my life and keep them to read them again at some point with a different perspective.

I really enjoyed reading your thoughts, especially how you’ve transitioned from being more of a book lover to now enjoying movies more often. That shift is something I think a lot of us can identify with.
I loved how you used to read the book first and then watch the movie to compare , that’s such a great way to appreciate both mediums and notice the creativity in each one. It’s true what you said about reading digitally becoming tiring over time. I also find it a bit hard on the eyes, even though it’s a more affordable and accessible option.
