[ESP-ENG] Film Review: A Cinderella Story (2004) | A captivating story of classic teenage romance.

Hola amigos de la comunidad de Movies & Tv, espero se encuentren bien el día de hoy. Hoy me ví una película que es bastante vieja y de hecho este año cumplió 20 años de su estreno, la película de la que les hablo es A Cinderella Story protagonizada por Hilary Duff y Chad Michael Murray, está película aunque es una historia de amor al estilo de Cenicienta recuerdo haberla visto de pequeña y que me había encantado tanto sobre todo la actuación de Chad Michael Murray quien es un actor bastante infravalorado y como muchas quedamos flechadas por esta historia tan bonita de amor y de perseguir los sueños, así que quise verla de nuevo porque no la recordaba y quería volver a mirar una película de romance muy al estilo antiguo de Disney.

Today I saw a movie that is quite old and in fact this year was 20 years since its release, the movie I'm talking about is A Cinderella Story starring Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray, this movie although it is a love story in the style of Cinderella I remember seeing it when I was little and I loved it so much especially the performance of Chad Michael Murray who is a very underrated actor and as many of us were charmed by this beautiful story of love and chasing dreams, so I wanted to see it again because I did not remember it and I wanted to watch again a romance movie in the old Disney style.

La trama nos cuenta la historia de Sam Montgomery una joven soñadora que vive con su padre y del cuál aprendió las mejores cosas de la vida, como su pasión por la lectura, los juegos de béisbol y la magia que hay entre la relación padre e hija, todo es muy bonito hasta que el padre de Sam se enamora de una mujer llamada Fiona que muestra ser bastante superficial y que además tiene dos hijas de la misma edad de Sam, la relación avanza rápidamente y terminan casándose y convirtiendose en una familia de cinco. Sam fue perdiendo la comunicación con su padre debido a que él estaba sumamente encantado con Fiona y la nueva historia que estaban creando como familia hasta que lamentablemente el padre de Sam muere y ella queda al cuidado de Fiona y sus dos hermanastras.

The plot tells the story of Sam Montgomery, a young dreamer who lives with her father and from whom she learned the best things in life, such as his passion for reading, baseball games and the magic that exists between the father and daughter relationship, everything is very nice until Sam's father falls in love with a woman named Fiona who shows to be quite superficial and who also has two daughters of the same age as Sam, the relationship progresses quickly and they end up marrying and becoming a family of five. Sam was losing communication with his father because he was extremely enchanted with Fiona and the new history they were creating as a family until unfortunately Sam's father dies and she is left in the care of Fiona and her two stepsisters.

Luego de ese acontecimiento tan triste cómo lo es el perder a esa figura paterna, Sam trata de vivir bien dentro del caos en el que su hogar se encuentra. Crece siendo humillada y despreciada por Fiona y sus hijas tal cuál como si viviera la historia de la Cenicienta, aún así se mantiene trabajando y estudiando mientras que espera la carta de la universidad de Princeton y poder salir de esa casa que no es más que el lugar más detestable en el que Sam no desea estar. Lo que la mantiene ilusionada es que lleva tiempo intercambiando mensajes con un chico de la escuela del cual solo sabe que es muy inteligente y que desea poder también ir a la universidad y estudiar para ser escritor a pesar de que el padre de él no desea lo mismo para su futuro.

After such a sad event as losing that father figure, Sam tries to live well within the chaos in which her home finds itself. She grows up being humiliated and despised by Fiona and her daughters as if she were living the story of Cinderella, yet she keeps working and studying while waiting for the letter from Princeton University and to be able to leave that house that is nothing more than the most detestable place where Sam does not want to be. What keeps her hopeful is that she has been exchanging messages for some time with a boy from school who she only knows is very smart and wants to be able to go to college and study to be a writer even though his father does not want the same for his future.

La película muestra la vida de Sam y sus terribles experiencias junto a su madrastra Fiona y sus hermanastras quienes le tienen mucho odio y envidia, aún así Sam se mantiene firme ante la idea de algún día poder abandonar esa casa y lograr sus sueños, aunque es una historia que puede ser bastante cliché debo admitir que es una de mis películas favoritas de romance, me encanta como se entrelaza la historia de Sam y Austin Ames (Chad Michael Murray) quien en esa época era uno de los mejores actores para interpretar películas de romance y quien tendremos la oportunidad de ver nuevamente en la segunda parte de Freaky Friday lo que me emociona un montón porque es una de mis películas favoritas de mi adolescencia.

The movie shows Sam's life and his terrible experiences with his stepmother Fiona and his stepsisters who have a lot of hatred and envy, yet Sam remains firm to the idea of someday being able to leave that house and achieve his dreams, although it is a story that can be quite cliché I must admit that it is one of my favorite romance movies, I love how it intertwines the story of Sam and Austin Ames (Chad Michael Murray) who at that time was one of the best actors to play romance movies and who we will have the opportunity to see again in the second part of Freaky Friday which excites me a lot because it is one of my favorite movies of my adolescence.

Es una historia muy bonita y también con momentos divertidos, dónde vemos cómo a pesar de las piedras en el camino hay un mensaje muy poderoso dentro de la película: Lo que es para tí, estará esperandote hasta que logres encontrarlo o llegue a ti., me encanta la forma en la que hacían antes las historias de romance y esta tiene ese toque especial donde vivimos la historia de amor de una manera que nos hace recordar esos buenos momentos que pasábamos viendo estas historias y que repetian continuamente en la televisión. Me encantó poder ver de nuevo algo relacionado con Hilary Duff en su etapa de juventud y la forma tan hermosa de actuar en las historias donde ella destacaba como protagonista o personaje secundario.

It is a very nice story and also with funny moments, where we see how despite the stones in the road there is a very powerful message inside the movie: What is for you, will be waiting for you until you manage to find it or it gets to you., I love the way they used to do romance stories and this one has that special touch where we live the love story in a way that makes us remember those good times we spent watching these stories and that they continuously repeated on TV. I loved being able to see again something related to Hilary Duff in her youth and the beautiful way she acted in the stories where she stood out as a protagonist or supporting character.

El romance dentro de la historia de Sam como si fuera Cenicienta y el hecho de que hay un chico con el que intercambia mensajes hace que sea divertido ver cómo todo va a terminar y si se llegarán a encontrar o no, me encanta la química de ambos actores y lo bien que actuaron en esta película, siempre es necesario ver una película con la que desconectemos del mundo exterior y poder vivir ese romance de ficción que es tan bonito que muchas veces solo se encuentra en la ficción, me siento muy feliz de haberla visto y poder recordar estas películas antiguas que puedes repetir miles de veces y nunca cansarte. La repetiría de nuevo sin lugar a dudas 😅😍

The romance within the story of Sam as if she were Cinderella and the fact that there is a boy with whom she exchanges messages makes it fun to see how everything will end and if they will get to meet or not, I love the chemistry of both actors and how well they acted in this movie, it is always necessary to see a movie with which we disconnect from the outside world and be able to live that fictional romance that is so nice that many times is only found in fiction, I feel very happy to have seen it and be able to remember these old movies that you can repeat thousands of times and never get tired of it. I would repeat it again without a doubt 😅😍😍
