¡Hola amigos de la querida comunidad de Movies & Tv! Finalmente he tenido la oportunidad de ver "The Menu", una película que ha sido objeto de intriga y especulación durante mucho tiempo. Permíteme contarte todo sobre esta emocionante obra cinematográfica. Y es que este tipo de películas son de las que te hacen pensar sobre todo en la forma en que las personas accionan y cómo con la mezcla de humor se dicen muchas verdades en esta película que no pensé me fuese a gustar tanto, ojala la hubiera visto antes ya que la trama me parece bastante original y los actores simplemente le agregan el toque para que sea una película que muchas personas incluyendome hemos disfrutado. Así que aquí comienza mi reseña de esta película peculiar:
Hello friends of the beloved Movies & Tv community! I've finally had a chance to see "The Menu", a film that has been the subject of intrigue and speculation for a long time. Let me tell you all about this exciting piece of cinema. And this kind of movies are the ones that make you think especially in the way people act and how with the mixture of humor many truths are told in this movie that I did not think I would like so much, I wish I had seen it before because the plot seems to me quite original and the actors just add the touch to make it a movie that many people including myself have enjoyed. So here begins my review of this peculiar movie:
"The Menu", dirigida por el aclamado director de cine Mark Mylod, es un híbrido inusual de géneros: terror y comedia. Desde el momento en que vi el tráiler por primera vez, supe que estaba ante algo completamente nuevo y emocionante. La trama de "The Menu" te sumerge en un mundo donde un grupo de amigos decide aventurarse en un restaurante misterioso y exclusivo. La leyenda cuenta que este lugar ofrece un menú único que promete experiencias culinarias más allá de la imaginación. Sin embargo, pronto descubren que el verdadero atractivo del restaurante no radica en la comida, sino en la oscura y siniestra transformación que tiene lugar en cada uno de los comensales.
"The Menu," directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mark Mylod, is an unusual hybrid of genres: horror and comedy. From the moment I first saw the trailer, I knew I was in for something completely new and exciting. The plot of "The Menu" immerses you in a world where a group of friends decide to venture into a mysterious and exclusive restaurant. Legend has it that this place offers a unique menu that promises culinary experiences beyond imagination. However, they soon discover that the real attraction of the restaurant lies not in the food, but in the dark and sinister transformation that takes place in each of the diners.
El reparto de la película no podría ser más sorprendente. En el papel principal, tenemos a Ralph Fiennes este gran actor interpretando a el Chef principal de la película; un hombre con apariencia normal que pronto dejará mucho que desear con sus acciones, Anya Taylor-Joy una joven que fue invitada al restaurante y que además ofrece servicios a hombres para pasar el rato, Nicholas Hoult el cual es un joven que le emociona mucho todo este mundo de la comida y que tenía muchas ganas de conocer este restaurante pero después de no tener con quien ir invita a Anya para que sea su compañera en esta ocasión, Hong Chau cómo la ayudante del chef; ella tiene un aura bastante extraña y hace todo lo que le pida el Chef de manera casi robótica u obsesiva, Janet McTeer una mujer adinerada que también se une al recorrido del restaurante junto a Reed Birney, Judith Light y John Leguizamo.
The cast of the film couldn't be more amazing. In the main role, we have Ralph Fiennes this great actor playing the main Chef of the film; a normal looking man who will soon leave much to be desired with his actions, Anya Taylor-Joy a young woman who was invited to the restaurant and also offers services to men to hang out, Nicholas Hoult which is a young man who is very excited about this whole world of food and was eager to know this restaurant but after not having anyone to go with invites Anya to be his companion on this occasion, Hong Chau as the assistant chef; she has a rather strange aura and does everything the Chef asks her to do in an almost robotic or obsessive way, Janet McTeer a wealthy woman who also joins the tour of the restaurant along with Reed Birney, Judith Light and John Leguizamo.

La película se desenvuelve en un ambiente oscuro y misterioso, que hace eco de los secretos y peligros que se esconden detrás de cada esquina del restaurante. Las actuaciones, sin duda, son uno de los puntos fuertes de esta película. Mark Mylod logra transmitir perfectamente la obsesión de los ayudantes de cocina y la lucha interna de cada comensal. Hay que destacar que las escenas fueron grabadas de una manera que te hace sentir miedo y a la vez intriga sobre todo en las escenas de cada plato que le van sirviendo a los comensales de ese día.
In addition to a stellar cast, "The Menu" features brilliant cinematography. The film unfolds in a dark and mysterious atmosphere, echoing the secrets and dangers lurking behind every corner of the restaurant. The shots are so inventive and surprising that they keep you on the edge of your seat at all times. Every scene is filled with tension and suspense but there are also touches of black comedy. The performances, without a doubt, are one of the strongest points of this film. Mark Mylod manages to perfectly convey the obsession of the kitchen helpers and the internal struggle of each diner. It should be noted that the scenes were filmed in a way that makes you feel fear and at the same time intrigue, especially in the scenes of each dish that is served to the diners that day.
Sin embargo, lo que realmente distingue a "The Menu" es su mensaje oculto. La película no se trata simplemente de una historia de terror y comedia, sino que también aborda temas más profundos. However, what really sets "The Menu" apart is its hidden message. The film is not simply a horror/comedy story, but also tackles deeper themes. As the characters face the consequences of their choices, the film explores the idea that sometimes our own cravings for extreme thrills can lead us down a dangerous and destructive path. It talks about how we all have something to hide and in this restaurant each thing that the diners hide in a quite different way is reminded to them with each and every dish. I feel that this movie is quite deep and touches on themes that are very common such as the fact of having committed wrong acts in the past that can no longer be changed and that the Chef makes the diners remember it in their dishes.
"The Menu" es una obra maestra que combina hábilmente el terror y la comedia de una manera que pocas películas han logrado hacer. Es una experiencia cinematográfica única y emocionante las escenas son muy delicadas y además de mostrar el mundo de la cocina cómo algo que es una manera de dar a través dea comida un mensaje, el Chef tiene también como todos su propia historia desde la infancia que lo hace ser tan obsesivo y perfeccionista con sus trabajadores y comidas. Para mí está película fue bastante original, realmente no esperaba cada escena que venía una tras otra y que me iban sorprendiendo más. Las actuaciones estuvieron fantásticas como siempre Anya en cada papel que hace deja su mejor trabajo, el Chef que es interpretado por Ralph Fiennes me hizo sentir incomoda toda la película y realmente el miedo estuvo presente pero no un miedo como cualquiera del que sabes que el tipo va a matar a alguien, si no todo en cada escena con el era inesperado y realmente me sorprendió el final y su frialdad.
"The Menu" is a masterpiece that skillfully combines horror and comedy in a way that few films have managed to do. It is a unique and exciting cinematic experience, the scenes are very delicate and besides showing the world of cooking as something that is a way to give through food a message, the Chef also has like everyone else his own history from childhood that makes him so obsessive and perfectionist with his workers and meals. For me this movie was quite original, I really didn't expect each scene that came one after another and surprised me more and more. The performances were fantastic as always Anya in every role she plays leaves her best work, the Chef who is played by Ralph Fiennes made me feel uncomfortable the whole movie and really the fear was present but not a fear like any other that you know the guy is going to kill someone, but everything in every scene with him was unexpected and really surprised me the end and his coldness.
Está película tiene escenas violentas gráficas y de lenguaje vulgar así que no la recomiendo para personas menores de 17 años, además que para entenderla aunque la película dura casi dos horas es bastante fácil o al menos lo fue para mí el darme cuenta de que todos los que estuvieron ese día en el restaurante fue por una razón aunque pareciera un poco injusto el tomar el poder de elegir que una persona viva por sus propias manos. El mensaje principal que se desprende de esta película es la crítica hacia nuestra obsesión con la búsqueda constante de experiencias extremas. La sociedad actual siempre está en la búsqueda de nuevas emociones, sensaciones y placeres, y "The Menu" nos invita a reflexionar sobre hasta qué punto estamos dispuestos a llegar con tal de obtener estas experiencias.
This movie has graphic violent scenes and vulgar language so I do not recommend it for people under 17 years old, also to understand it although the movie lasts almost two hours is quite easy or at least it was for me to realize that everyone who was in the restaurant that day was for a reason even if it seems a little unfair to take the power to choose a person to live by their own hands. The main message that comes out of this film is the criticism of our obsession with the constant search for extreme experiences. Today's society is always in search of new emotions, sensations and pleasures, and "The Menu" invites us to reflect on how far we are willing to go in order to obtain these experiences.
A través de su trama de terror y suspenso, la película nos muestra cómo nuestra sed de emociones extremas puede llevarnos a lugares peligrosos y destructivos. Nos muestra la importancia de ser conscientes de nuestras acciones y decisiones, y de considerar las consecuencias que estas pueden tener en nuestras vidas y en la de los demás. Además, también podemos interpretar un mensaje sobre el precio que estamos dispuestos a pagar por satisfacer nuestra sed de emociones. En "The Menu", los personajes se ven enfrentados a situaciones donde deben tomar decisiones difíciles y arriesgadas. Nos invita a cuestionarnos si vale la pena arriesgar nuestra integridad física, mental o incluso nuestra vida por vivir experiencias extremas.
