Hola a todos en la querida comunidad de Movies & Tv, hace tiempo que tengo ganas de ver pelÃculas asiáticas, casi siempre las que veo son de romance pero querÃa probar ir ver algo diferente. Hace unos años me và muchas pelÃculas asiáticas desde las más populares hasta las que no lo son, pero como tengo memoria de corto plazo jaja se me olvidaron algunas de las que vÃ. Para mà los asiáticos tienen una forma muy impresionante de mostrar las emociones en el cine y me encanta la manera en que muestran el romance y el drama o el misterio y el crimen. Por eso hoy estuve guardando varias pelÃculas en mi watchlist de Letterboxd y me conseguà con una que llamo mi atención. No conocÃa al actor principal o eso creo, la actriz creo haberla visto en algún drama pero no recuerdo muy bien. La cosa es que la temática de la pelÃcula me llamo mucho la atención y también tiene mucho de crimen y contiene imágenes explÃcitas de sangre y muerte asà que no la recomiendo a menores de 17 años.
Hello to everyone in the beloved Movies & Tv community, I've been wanting to watch Asian movies for a while now, almost always the ones I watch are romance but I wanted to try to go see something different. A few years ago I watched a lot of Asian movies from the most popular to the not so popular, but since I have a short term memory haha I forgot some of the ones I watched. For me Asians have a very impressive way of showing emotions in movies and I love the way they show romance and drama or mystery and crime. So today I was saving several movies in my Letterboxd watchlist and I came across one that caught my attention. I didn't know the main actor or so I think, the actress I think I have seen her in some drama but I don't remember very well. The thing is that the theme of the movie caught my attention and it also has a lot of crime and contains explicit images of blood and death so I do not recommend it to anyone under 17 years old.
Está pelÃcula se llama Night in Paradise (Noche en el paraÃso) del año 2020 y dirigida por Park Hoon Jung conocido por ser el director de las pelÃculas The Witch 1 y 2. Park Tae-goo (Um Tae-goo) es un hombre que pertenece a un grupo de mafiosos de Corea del Sur, el cual lleva una vida bastante complicada y llena de violencia donde es uno de los encargados de una pandilla de delincuentes. A pesar de estar metido en el bajo mundo, Tae-goo es un hombre que tiene sentimientos y piensa en su familia de la cuál ha estado poco tiempo juntos debido a su trabajo. Tae-goo ama a su hermana y a su sobrina con toda su alma y dentro del tiempo que tiene libre, busca ayudar a su hermana debido a que ella tiene una enfermedad incurable. Esto lo mantiene siempre con los pies sobre la tierra y le hace pensar en que podrÃa ocurrir si se viera involucrado en algo muy turbio y buscaran a su familia.
This movie is called Night in Paradise from the year 2020 and directed by Park Hoon Jung known for being the director of the movies The Witch 1 and 2. Park Tae-goo (Um Tae-goo) is a man who belongs to a group of gangsters in South Korea, which leads a life quite complicated and full of violence where he is one of the managers of a gang of criminals. Despite being involved in the underworld, Tae-goo is a man who has feelings and thinks about his family, which he has spent little time together due to his work. Tae-goo loves his sister and niece with all his heart and in his spare time, he tries to help his sister because she has an incurable disease. This always keeps him grounded and makes him think about what could happen if he gets involved in something very shady and his family is searched.
Por desgracia debido a lo que Tae-goo cree fue un ajuste de cuentas o una venganza, asesinan a su hermana y a su sobrina. Después de este suceso el no vuelve a ser el mismo, tiene recuerdos de haber hablado con un mafioso que forma parte del gobierno de Seúl el cual le habÃa ofrecido que se uniera a su clan pero Tae-goo se negó y por esto cree que este mafioso del grupo contrario se desquitó con su familia. Ahora empieza todo el drama porque Tae-goo no se queda en paz y busca venganza y lo consigue, de hecho casi mata al mafioso y a parte de su grupo delictivo pero esto trae consecuencias porque se metió con uno de los hombres más poderosos del gobierno y de los bajos mundos.

Tae-goo y Kim Jae Jeon empiezan a conocerse, él piensa que ella está bastante loca porque en varias ocasiones la salva primero de un intento de suicidio y luego de morir debido a su enfermedad. Se crea un lazo con algo de confianza ya que básicamente se tienen el uno al otro mientras que los mafiosos están averiguando dónde se está escondiendo Tae-goo. Hay muchas escenas entre ellos pero no muestran como tal que tienen una relación de amor, para mà fue una amistad con beneficios. Las escenas de acción de Tae-goo son muy realistas y también muy explÃcitas y sangrientas, tenÃa tiempo que no veÃa una pelÃcula asà pero me gustó a pesar de eso.
Tae-goo and Kim Jae Jeon start to get to know each other, he thinks she's pretty crazy because on several occasions he saves her first from a suicide attempt and then from dying due to her illness. A bond is formed with some trust as they basically have each other while the mobsters are finding out where Tae-goo is hiding. There are many scenes between them but they don't show as such that they have a love relationship, to me it was a friendship with benefits. Tae-goo's action scenes are very realistic and also very explicit and gory, I haven't seen a movie like this in a while but I liked it regardless.
Está pelÃcula es de Netflix, me pareció bastante buena y te mantiene viéndola durante las dos horas de duración. Um Tae-goo me pareció un súper actor además de que salió en pelÃculas que me gustaron como Coin Locker Girl (se las super recomiendo) y también en una que es bastante famosa llamada I Saw The Devil la cual no he visto pero tiene muy buenas crÃticas. Las escenas de acción fueron increÃbles, además de que la sangre y las peleas no faltaron y le agregaron ese toque que tienen las pelÃculas de Acción, Thriller y Crimen como esta. La forma en la que grabaron las escenas y esa manera del director de capturar los momentos justo en el punto preciso a mi parecer le dieron el toque que tiene una buena pelÃcula. No daré spoilers pero quedé impresionada con el final, no es para nada lo que esperaba y eso la hizo incluso mejor. Hay venganzas, pero todos tienen que pagar tarde o temprano y está pelÃcula cumple con eso. También me gustó las escenas dónde mostraban partes de la isla Jeju la cual es bastante conocida por ser un lugar muy bonito lleno de playa y resorts dónde los coreanos les gusta ir a vacacionar al igual que los turistas.
This movie is from Netflix, I thought it was pretty good and it keeps you watching it during the two hours of duration. Um Tae-goo I thought he was a super actor plus he was in movies that I liked like like Coin Locker Girl (I super recommend them) and also in one that is quite famous called I Saw The Devil which I haven't seen but it has very good reviews. The action scenes were incredible, plus the blood and fights were not missing and they added that touch that Action, Thriller and Crime movies like this one have. The way the scenes were filmed and the director's way of capturing the moments just at the right point in my opinion gave it the touch that a good movie has. I won't give spoilers but I was impressed with the ending, not at all what I expected and that made it even better. There are vendettas, but everyone has to pay sooner or later and this movie delivers on that. I also liked the scenes where they showed parts of Jeju Island which is quite well known for being a very nice place full of beach and resorts where Koreans like to vacation as well as tourists.
Realmente fue una pelÃcula que al principio es como "ay no, otra pelÃcula de crimen y además el actor se enamora de la protagonista que está enferma, el tÃpico cliché" pero no es asÃ. Me hubiera gustado haberla visto antes porque está muy interesante. Lo único es que me sentà un poco asqueada por tanta sangre en diferentes escenas de la pelÃcula pero aún asà me pareció muy buena y se las recomiendo si aún no la han visto. Los coreanos tienen historias fuertes pero que siempre dejan alguna enseñanza y reflexion.
It really was a movie that at first is like "oh no, another crime movie and also the actor falls in love with the protagonist who is sick, the typical cliché" but it's not like that. I would have liked to have seen it earlier because it is very interesting. The only thing is that I felt a little disgusted by so much blood in different scenes of the movie but I still thought it was very good and I recommend it if you haven't seen it yet. Koreans have strong stories but they always leave some teaching and reflection.
