Hola a todos los amantes del cine en la comunidad de Movies & Tv el día de hoy quiero compartir mi reseña de una película que me dejó impactada al verla, la ví hace algunos años y realmente no esperaba que me fuera a gustar tanto y que me dejara tantas lecciones de vida. A veces en los momentos menos esperados nuestra vida cambia para siempre y eso es lo que le sucede a nuestro protagonista Jeff. Dirigido por David Gordon Green ("La noche de Halloween" y "Joe"), este drama biográfico cuenta también con las interpretaciones de Tatiana Maslany y Miranda Richardson. "Stronger" está basada en el libro del mismo título escrito por el propio Bauman junto a Bret Witter.

Hello to all movie lovers in the Movies & Tv community, today I want to share my review of a movie that left me shocked when I saw it, I saw it a few years ago and I really did not expect to like it so much and that it left me so many life lessons. Sometimes in the least expected moments our life changes forever and that's what happens to our main character Jeff. Directed by David Gordon Green ("Halloween Night" and "Joe"), this biographical drama also stars Tatiana Maslany and Miranda Richardson. "Stronger" is based on the book of the same title written by Bauman himself with Bret Witter.

Cuando Jeff se entera de que Erin va a correr la maratón de Boston para recaudar fondos para el hospital en el que trabaja, le promete que la esperará en la línea de meta con un gran cartel. When Jeff learns that Erin is going to run the Boston Marathon to raise money for the hospital where she works, he promises her that he will be waiting for her at the finish line with a big sign. At the Boston Marathon Jeff is very excited because his relationship with Erin is not quite right and he wants to win her affection again, but unexpectedly in a matter of seconds everything becomes cloudy and chaos ensues, there is screaming everywhere and Jeff falls to the ground when he he hears the explosion of what was a bomb. A man who is near him helps him and Jeff loses consciousness.

Al llegar al hospital la familia de Jeff que es bastante disfuncional y problemática están desesperados por saber que fue lo que le pasó. Jeff se encuentra en una habitación entubado y tiempo después el doctor le menciona a la familia que debido al grave daño que causó la bomba que estaba muy cerca de el tuvieron que amputarle ambas piernas.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Jeff's dysfunctional and troubled family is desperate to know what happened to him. Jeff is found in a room intubated and some time later the doctor mentions to the family that due to the severe damage caused by the bomb that was too close to him they had to amputate both of his legs.

Jeff despierta y su hermano se encarga de decirle la situación que tiene que enfrentar ahora con su vida, pero Jeff está más preocupado por que encuentren a los culpables del atentado, se acuerda del rostro de uno de los sospechosos y no duda en hablar con la policía para dar sus declaraciones. Jeff wakes up and his brother is in charge of telling him the situation he has to face now with his life, but Jeff is more concerned about finding the culprits of the bombing, he remembers the face of one of the suspects and does not hesitate to talk to the police to give his statements. This goes a long way in helping the police find those involved.

Todo el mundo está consternado por la situación y la noticia de Jeff se vuelve viral haciéndolo muy popular en la televisión. Al salir del hospital Jeff se encuentra con una gran cantidad de personas que lo llenan de ánimo por haber pasado una situación tan difícil y lograr seguir con vida. Ahora Jeff tiene que enfrentarse a su nueva realidad, una vida sin sus dos piernas.

Everyone is shocked by the situation and Jeff's news goes viral making him very popular on TV. Upon leaving the hospital Jeff is met by a large number of people who cheer him up for having gone through such a difficult situation and managing to stay alive. Now Jeff has to face his new reality, a life without his two legs.

La madre de Jeff lo ayuda en lo que puede para bañarlo y hacerse cargo de las cosas que el por su condición no puede hacer por si solo pero terminan teniendo la mayor parte del tiempo discusiones. Jeff se comunica con Erin y ella está dispuesta a estar con el a pesar de todo, comienza a ayudarlo también y se da cuenta de que es bastante difícil la situación.

Jeff's mother helps him as much as she can to bathe him and take care of the things he can't do on his own because of his condition, but they end up having most of the time discussions. Jeff communicates with Erin and she is willing to be with him in spite of everything, she starts to help him too and realizes that the situation is quite difficult.

Jeff se siente deprimido la mayor parte del tiempo por su condición y cuando comienza a ver su realidad teme que no pueda superar ese momento tan difícil. Aún así trata de llevar una vida normal con Erin pero los problemas continúan, Jeff evade su situación yendo a bares en silla de ruedas para olvidar todo lo que ha pasado, se mete en problemas, causa peleas y todo se vuelve un caos. Erin no resiste la situación de tener que estar con Jeff y que esté se comporte como un idiota y no quiera poner de su parte para hacer la rehabilitación y que pueda volver a caminar con prótesis.

Jeff feels depressed most of the time because of his condition and when he begins to see his reality he fears that he will not be able to overcome this difficult time. Still he tries to lead a normal life with Erin but the problems continue, Jeff evades his situation by going to bars in a wheelchair to forget everything that has happened, he gets into trouble, causes fights and everything becomes chaos. Erin can't stand the situation of having to be with Jeff and that he behaves like an idiot and doesn't want to do his part to do the rehabilitation so that he can walk again with prosthesis.

Llega un punto en el que Jeff se queda completamente solo, por lo que reflexiona y decide que su vida no tiene porqué terminar ahí, que el puede hacer grandes cosas a pesar de no tener ambas piernas, por lo que decide comenzar la rehabilitación la cual es sumamente dolorosa. Tiempo después se entera de que Erin está embarazada de el y eso le causa conflicto y no sabe que decisiones tomar. Sigue con su recuperación tanto física como mental, porque tiene problemas de estrés postraumático debido a lo ocurrido en el maratón y revive a cada momento el incidente. Aún así llega un punto en el que toma las riendas de su vida y decide mejorar para si mismo principalmente.

There comes a point when Jeff is left completely alone, so he reflects and decides that his life does not have to end there, that he can do great things despite not having both legs, so he decides to start rehabilitation which is extremely painful. Some time later he learns that Erin is pregnant with his child and that causes him conflict and he does not know what decisions to make. He continues with his recovery both physically and mentally, because he has post-traumatic stress problems due to what happened in the marathon and relives the incident at every moment. Even so, there comes a point where he takes control of his life and decides to improve mainly for himself.

Al final las cosas caen en su lugar y el incluso llega a tener un encuentro con el hombre que le salvó la vida haciendole un torniquete en el momento del atentado. El hombre le cuenta que sus dos hijos murieron, uno en un atentado y el otro acabo con su vida porque no pudo con el dolor de perder a su hermano. Por lo que al momento de la explosión y al verlo recordó a su hijo y se dijo a si mismo que si hubiera estado con el lo habría salvado, por eso no dudo en salvar a Jeff.

In the end things fall into place and he even gets to meet the man who saved his life by giving him a tourniquet at the time of the attack. The man tells him that his two sons died, one in an attack and the other ended his life because he could not cope with the pain of losing his brother. So at the time of the explosion and seeing him, he remembered his son and said to himself that if he had been with him he would have saved him, so he did not hesitate to save Jeff.

Está película de género drama dirigida por David Gordon Green con una duración de 120 minutos nos deja ver una gran actuación por parte de Jake Gyllenhaal, donde vemos a una persona luchar por su vida y seguir adelante a pesar de todo lo que tuvo que pasar. Es una película que me hizo llorar bastante y fue muy dura de ver, la verdad es que la vida cambia en un segundo y no sabemos que va a pasar después. La fuerza que tuvo Jeff (el de la vida real) para sobreponerse ante su nueva realidad es sumamente increíble, debió haber sido muy duro y difícil. Que te amputen alguna parte de ti es algo que cuesta superar pero el tuvo la entereza y la fuerza de voluntad para continuar a pesar de todo. Es una película que recomendaría a todas las personas para que la vieran, ya que vale la pena ver por todo lo que pasó Jeff y que nunca se rindió, ese es el mensaje final, lucha por tu vida, no te rindas las cosas pueden parecer difíciles pero la vida es blanco y negro, tal vez hoy estés pasando por un momento muy duro pero lo vas a poder super tanto como Jeff pudo continuar con su vida.

This drama film directed by David Gordon Green with a duration of 120 minutes lets us see a great performance by Jake Gyllenhaal, where we see a person fighting for his life and move forward despite everything he had to go through. It is a movie that made me cry a lot and was very hard to watch, the truth is that life changes in a second and we do not know what will happen next. The strength that Jeff (the real life Jeff) had to overcome his new reality is incredible, it must have been very hard and difficult. Having a part of you amputated is something that is hard to overcome, but he had the strength and willpower to continue in spite of everything. It is a movie that I would recommend everyone to see, it is worth seeing what Jeff went through and that he never gave up, that is the final message, fight for your life, don't give up, things may seem difficult but life is black and white, maybe today you are going through a very hard time but you will be able to overcome it as much as Jeff was able to continue with his life.
