Hola amigos de la comunidad de Movies & Tv, espero se encuentren bien el día de hoy. Finalmente termine de ver uno de los kdramas más famosos de Corea del Sur y fue una experiencia bonita ya que tenía tiempo sin saber o conectar con algo relacionado a la cultura asiática. El drama coreano que ví se llama Coffee Prince y no pude evitar sentir que debí haberlo visto antes porque me encantó y siento que es uno de esos doramas que miras y son difíciles de olvidar. Hello friends of the Movies & Tv community, I hope you are doing well today. I finally finished watching one of the most famous South Korean kdramas and it was a nice experience since I had a long time without knowing or connecting with something related to Asian culture. The Korean drama I watched is called Coffee Prince and I couldn't help but feel like I should have watched it before because I loved it and I feel like it's one of those doramas that you watch and it's hard to forget. La trama nos cuenta la historia de una joven de veinticuatro años llamada Eun Chan (Yoon Eun-hye) que se dedica la mayor parte del tiempo a hacer trabajos para poder sobrevivir y ayudar a su mamá y a su hermana menor, ella es una joven que realmente se esfuerza por darle una mejor vida a su familia muchas veces sin pensar en su propia estabilidad emocional y su paz. Por diferentes motivos queda desempleada y conoce a un joven llamado Han Kyul (Gong Yoo), un apuesto joven que viene de una familia con dinero pero que pasa mucho tiempo desperdiciando su vida lo que alarma a su abuela quien desea que se case con una mujer de su mismo estatus social y además que pueda madurar como persona.

The plot tells the story of a twenty-four year old girl named Eun Chan (Yoon Eun-hye) who spends most of her time doing jobs in order to survive and help her mother and younger sister, she is a young woman who really strives to give a better life to her family many times without thinking about her own emotional stability and peace. For various reasons she becomes unemployed and meets a young man named Han Kyul (Gong Yoo), a handsome young man who comes from a wealthy family but spends a lot of time wasting his life which alarms her grandmother who wants him to marry a woman of the same social status and also to mature as a person.

Eun Chan producto de inconvenientes y su estilo de vestir, se hace pasar por hombre frente a Han Kyul para que este le diera trabajo en el nuevo negocio que él está dirigiendo, un negocio de café ya que la abuela de Han Kyul desea ver a su nieto trabajando en un negocio familiar y no perdiendo el tiempo en su pasatiempo favorito que es crear especie de juguetes como legos o armables. Por supuesto desde el primer día Eun Chan finge que es hombre y que debe mantener la mentira el mayor tiempo posible para pagar sus deudas.

Eun Chan, because of inconveniences and his dressing style, pretends to be a man in front of Han Kyul so that Han Kyul will give him a job in the new business he is running, a coffee business because Han Kyul's grandmother wants to see her grandson working in a family business and not wasting his time in his favorite hobby which is creating some kind of toys like legos or assemblables. Of course from day one Eun Chan pretends he is a man and must keep up the lie as long as possible to pay off his debts.

Debo decir que este dorama del año 2007 es uno de los mejores que he visto y que he disfrutado, reído y hasta llorado. Esta historia tiene de todo un poco, Eun Chan siendo la protagonista con una historia de vida marcada por la perdida de su padre, Han Kyul también con un pasado el cual desconoce y que lo vincula con su nacimiento, también está el hecho de que Eun Chan comienza a sentirse atraída por Han Kyul pero recuerda que el la reconoce como hombre y que nadie debe saber la verdad.

I must say that this 2007 dorama is one of the best I have seen and that I have enjoyed, laughed and even cried. This story has a little bit of everything, Eun Chan being the main character with a life story marked by the loss of her father, Han Kyul also with a past which she does not know and that links him to her birth, there is also the fact that Eun Chan begins to feel attracted to Han Kyul but she remembers that he recognizes her as a man and that no one should know the truth.

El café está ligado a los negocios de la abuela de Han Kyul quien se dedica a vender su propio café en semillas, aunque Han Kyul nunca está demasiado interesado al comienzo con la idea, poco a poco se va haciendo responsable del lugar para darle una buena impresión a su abuela y luego poder irse a Estados Unidos para seguir siendo parte de los negocios de la abuela en el exterior, pero todo se detiene cuando la idea de que ve a Eun Chan cómo más que una empleada lo empieza a volver loco, poniendo en duda sus gustos y preferencias en cuanto a las relaciones.

The café is linked to the business of Han Kyul's grandmother who is dedicated to selling her own seed coffee, although Han Kyul is never too interested at first with the idea, little by little he becomes responsible for the place to make a good impression on his grandmother and then be able to go to the United States to continue being part of the grandmother's business abroad, but everything stops when the idea that he sees Eun Chan as more than an employee begins to drive him crazy, questioning his tastes and preferences in terms of relationships.

Tal vez este drama tiene un poco de cliché porque hay muchas historias donde la protagonista se hace pasar por hombre y luego está el chico de dinero que desea poder estar con ella aunque piense que es hombre, en esta historia sucede que Han Kyul llega a un punto de quiebre donde no le importa perderlo todo solo por estar al lado de Eun Chan, sin importar lo que diga su familia, sus amigos o la sociedad. Pero las mentiras no duran para siempre y en algún momento Eun Chan deberá enfrentar su realidad y decir la verdad a pesar de que esto pueda causarle un profundo dolor a Han Kyul quien tal vez no desee verla nunca más.

Maybe this drama has a bit of cliché because there are many stories where the protagonist pretends to be a man and then there is the money boy who wishes he could be with her even though he thinks he is a man, in this story it happens that Han Kyul reaches a breaking point where he doesn't mind losing everything just to be by Eun Chan's side, no matter what her family, friends or society says. But lies don't last forever and at some point Eun Chan will have to face her reality and tell the truth even though it may cause deep pain to Han Kyul who may never want to see her again.

Es increíble que a pesar de la época en la que fue grabada la serie hay muchas cosas que se muestran cómo el posible romance entre dos personas del mismo sexo, esto me llamo la atención porque sabemos que en Corea del Sur suelen ser muy estrictos y dramáticos hasta con situaciones muy simples. Sin embargo abordaron la historia de una manera divertida y llena de humor que se complementó con la química entre los actores, una química que podría decirse que realmente se amaban aunque solo sea ficción.

It is amazing that despite the time in which the series was filmed, there are many things that are shown such as the possible romance between two people of the same sex, this caught my attention because we know that in South Korea they are usually very strict and dramatic even with very simple situations. However they approached the story in a fun and humorous way that was complemented by the chemistry between the actors, a chemistry that you could say that they really loved each other even though it is only fiction.

Además hay personajes que enriquecen la historia cómo los ayudantes del café, la vida del primo de Han Kyul quien siempre ha amado a una mujer que no le corresponde y no solamente eso sí no que Han Kyul también siente una gran atracción por la misma mujer, esto forma una pequeña rivalidad y drama en la historia. El lugar donde grabaron las escenas fueron más que todo en el Café y fue muy bonita la forma en la que se unían como equipo para levantar un negocio que estaba muerto.

There are also characters that enrich the story, such as the café assistants, the life of Han Kyul's cousin who has always loved a woman who doesn't love him back and not only that, but Han Kyul also feels a great attraction for the same woman, this forms a small rivalry and drama in the story. The location where they filmed the scenes were mostly at the Café and it was very nice how they came together as a team to lift up a dead business.

Este kdrama tiene diecisiete episodios de una hora aproximadamente, cada episodio tiene su propio nombre y lo ví en idioma español ya que no lo conseguí subtitulado sin embargo esto no impidió que disfrutara de la historia de todas maneras, una de las mejores parejas de los kdramas que he visto sin duda es la que hacen Gong Yoo y Yoon Eun-hye, ambos tienen una forma de expresar sus sentimientos y sus emociones que te transmiten el amor que va surgiendo entre mentiras, peleas, risas y suspenso por lo que podría ocurrir si se revela la verdad de Eun Chan.

This kdrama has seventeen episodes of approximately one hour, each episode has its own name and I watched it in Spanish language since I didn't get it subtitled however this didn't stop me from enjoying the story anyway, one of the best kdrama couples I have seen without a doubt is the one between Gong Yoo and Yoon Eun-hye, both have a way of expressing their feelings and emotions that transmit you the love that is emerging between lies, fights, laughs and suspense for what could happen if Eun Chan's truth is revealed.

Cada uno de los episodios fueron suficientes para mostrar el amor desde una perspectiva diferente y como este puede hacer que cambie tu vida para siempre, es una historia de romance, drama y comedia que fusiona perfectamente estos tres géneros, hasta el día de hoy siento que es uno de los kdramas más populares de Corea del Sur y uno de los favoritos de todos los que amamos ver producciones asiáticas. Espero pronto comenzar a ver otro dorama con Gong Yoo quien me encanta como actor y que tiene un gran talento para hacer cualquier tipo de papel, como lo demostró en El Juego del Calamar. Each of the episodes were enough to show love from a different perspective and how it can change your life forever, it is a story of romance, drama and comedy that perfectly merges these three genres, to this day I feel it is one of the most popular South Korean kdramas and one of the favorites of all of us who love to watch Asian productions. I hope soon to start watching another dorama with Gong Yoo who I love as an actor and who has a great talent to do any kind of role, as he proved in The Squid Game.
