Yesterday after seeing a scene in a social network I decided to watch a movie that many have reviewed here and although I really like the protagonist I had not encouraged me to see it, but that scene made me interested in how ironic and senseless it was, so if more to add, welcome dear friends of the community to a new review today. The movie I want to tell you my opinion about is called "Anyone but you", let's start with the review.

This film, released on December 22, 2023, is an Australian-American production that belongs to the classic romantic comedy genre and stars Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell. Here we will follow the story of Bea and Ben, both meet by accident and end up having an immediate connection, which leads them to spend a great day together, but a snag happens and they don't see each other again after that day. As if it were a joke, years later they meet again for a wedding in Australia, but they both hate each other because of the events that happened before, will they be able to survive the wedding?
What happens in the movie?
Let's talk a little bit about the first events of the movie. The movie starts with our main character Bea, who enters a local to ask to use the bathroom, but since she hasn't consumed anything she is not allowed to enter, so a man named Ben who was in line, pretended that she was his wife, so she was allowed to go to the bathroom. After leaving, they both have a small conversation where they feel a connection and decide to leave together and so they spend the day with each other, where they seem to be the perfect couple and end the day sleeping together.

In the morning, Bea decides to leave even though Ben is still asleep, and although he notices, he decides to let her go. Bea calls someone to tell him about what has happened and this person asks her why she left and Bea answers that she doesn't know, so she decides to go back to Ben's house. On the other hand, at Ben's house his friend has arrived, he asks him about the girl he stood him up for, assuring that Ben is in love with her, but Ben responds saying that he wanted her out of his house as soon as possible, since she was a mess and Bea heard that without either of them noticing and just decides to leave without saying anything.

6 months have passed since then and we are located in a discotheque. Here, Ben and his friend meet his friend's sister Claudia, who is also Ben's friend. Claudia introduces him to Halle, who is her girlfriend. Then, Halle calls her sister, who turns out to be Bea, so once again, the two meet. They clearly remember each other perfectly and make some hurtful remarks to each other and vow never to see each other again. After some unspoken amount of time, Claudia and Halle announce their wedding in Germany, so once again, Bea and Ben will meet in the same place and their hatred for each other is palpable. Can they really get along together and not ruin the wedding in the process?

My opinion about the movie
The aforementioned only covers the first 10 minutes of the movie, so there is a lot to discover in it, but I want to leave it as a surprise for those who wish to watch the movie on their own. From this point on I will talk about my opinion regarding the movie starting with the story and it is that I must mention that if we are completely honest, it is not a very remarkable story, what I mean, I am sure that other similar movies have been made with similar concepts and this one follows a classic pattern of movies about romantic comedy, but this does not have to be bad, even being something quite generic it ends up entertaining with its unexpected plot twists and comedy.
As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, the comedy in this film personally seems good to me, although it sins a little of trying to make a forced humor perhaps in certain scenes, but still I think it is enjoyable and being very honest, although I was laughing in many scenes, it was not a very memorable comedy either, I could even say that the visuals of the scenes worked more than the lines of the scripts, but I guess also the charisma of the actors gave rise to a good feeling for this aspect, so, to be a generic story, its comedy is more remarkable and entertaining.

I would like to mention something about the characters in this movie, although the main characters for obvious reasons are the most important, it seems to me that the secondary characters were wasted, personally I feel that they were even a little more striking than the main ones and they were also the ones that contributed the most to the film, but honestly I was not convinced by the main characters, although I think they are incredible actors, I feel that there was not much chemistry between them in the film or at least that's how I perceived it, but clearly it still works for the type of film it is.
This is not the best romantic comedy movie you will see in your life, I could even say that it is a story that after watching it you will forget it, it does not have something that makes it significant and that's fine, because it works as a movie to pass the time, I for example would not watch it again, I already saw it, I laughed, it entertained me and that's it, I would rather watch a new movie before watching this one again, not because it is bad, but because I feel that once is more than enough, it fulfills the objective of entertaining. In general terms, it is a funny story that will make you have a good time with quite charismatic characters with many witticisms, so if you have not seen it, watching it for the first time can be pleasant and entertaining.

El día de ayer luego de ver una escena en una red social me decidí por ver una película a la que muchos han hecho alguna reseña por aquí y aunque me gusta mucho la protagonista no me había animado a verla, pero esa escena hizo que me interesara por lo irónica y sin sentido que fue, así que si más que agregar, sean bienvenidos queridos amigos de la comunidad a una nueva reseña el día de hoy. La película de la que deseo contarles mi opinión lleva por nombre “Con todos menos contigo”, comencemos con la reseña.

Esta película, estrenada el 22 de diciembre del año 2023, es una producción australiana-estadounidense que pertenece al género clásico de una comedia romántica y cuenta con la participación protagónica de Sydney Sweeney y Glen Powell. Aquí seguiremos la historia de Bea y Ben, ambos se conocen por accidente y terminan teniendo una conexión inmediata, lo que los lleva a pasar un excelente día juntos, pero un inconveniente sucede y no vuelven a verse después de ese día. Como si de un chiste se tratase, años después vuelven a coincidir para una boda en Australia, pero ambos se odian por los acontecimientos que ocurrieron anteriormente, ¿podrán sobrevivir a la boda?
¿Qué sucede en la película?
Hablemos un poco de los primeros acontecimientos de la película. La película comienza con nuestra protagonista Bea, quien entra a un local para pedir usar el baño, pero como no ha consumido nada no le permiten entrar, por lo que un hombre llamado Ben quien estaba en la fila, fingió que ella era su esposa, así le permitieron ir a ella al baño. Luego de salir, ambos tienen una pequeña conversación donde sienten una conexión y deciden irse juntos y así pasan el día acompañados del otro, donde parecen ser la pareja perfecta y terminan el día durmiendo juntos.

Por la mañana, Bea decide irse aun cuando Ben sigue dormido, y aunque este se percata, decide dejarla marchar. Bea llama a alguien para contarle sobre lo que ha sucedido y esta persona le pregunta por qué se fue de allí y Bea responde que no lo sabe, por lo que decide volver de nuevo a casa de Ben. Por otro lado, en casa de Ben ha llegado su amigo, este le pregunta sobre la chica por la cual lo dejó plantado, asegurando que Ben está enamorado de ella, pero Ben responde diciendo que él la quería fuera de su casa lo más rápido posible, ya que ella era un desastre y Bea escuchó eso sin que ninguno de los dos se percatara y tan solo decide marcharse sin decir nada.

6 meses han pasado desde entonces y nos ubicamos en una discoteca. Aquí, Ben junto a su amigo se reúnen con la hermana de su amigo llamada Claudia, quien también es amiga de Ben. Claudia le presenta a Halle, quien es su novia. Luego, Halle llama a su hermana, quien resulta ser Bea, por lo que una vez más, ambos se encuentran. Estos claramente se recuerdan a la perfección y sueltan algunos comentarios hirientes hacia el otro y juran no volverse a ver nunca más. Luego de una cierta cantidad de tiempo que no se menciona, Claudia y Halle anuncian su boda en Alemania, por lo que una vez más, Bea y Ben se encontrarán en el mismo lugar y el odio que ambos se tienen es palpable. ¿Realmente podrán llevarse bien estando juntos y no arruinar la boda en el proceso?

Mi opinión sobre la película
Lo antes mencionado solo abarca los primeros 10 minutos de la película, por lo que hay mucho por descubrir en ella, pero quiero dejarlo como sorpresa para aquellos que deseen ver la película por su cuenta. A partir de este punto hablaré de mi opinión con respecto a la película comenzando por la historia y es que debo mencionar que si somos completamente sinceros, no es una historia muy destacable, lo que quiero decir, estoy seguro de que se han realizado otras películas similares con conceptos similares y esta sigue un patrón clásico de las películas sobre comedia romántica, pero esto no tiene por qué ser malo, aun siendo algo bastante genérica termina entreteniendo con sus giros de tramas inesperados y su comedia.
Como bien mencionaba en el párrafo anterior, la comedia en esta película en lo personal me parece buena, aunque peca un poco de intentar hacer un humor forzado quizás en ciertas escenas, pero aun así me parece que se disfruta y siendo muy honesto, aunque sí me estuve riendo en muchas escenas, tampoco era una comedia muy recordable, incluso podría decir que más funcionaba lo visual de las escenas que las líneas de los guiones, pero supongo que también el carisma de los actores dio pie a unas buenas sensaciones para este aspecto, así que, para ser una historia genérica, su comedia si es más destacable y entretenida.

Quisiera mencionar algo sobre los personajes en esta película, si bien los protagonistas por obvias razones son los más importantes, me parece que a los personajes secundarios se les desaprovechó, en lo personal siento que estos incluso eran un poco más llamativos que los principales y que también fueron los que más fueron aportando a la película, porque estos iban influyendo en pocas medidas para que los protagonistas fueran siendo foco de atención, pero honestamente no me convencieron los protagonistas, si bien me parecen increíbles actores, siento que no había mucha química entre ellos en la película o al menos así lo percibí yo, pero claramente aun así funciona para el tipo de película que es.
Esta no es la mejor película de comedia romántica que verán en sus vidas, incluso podría decir que es una historia que luego de verla van a olvidarla, no tiene algo que la haga significativa y eso está bien, porque funciona como una película para pasar el rato, yo por ejemplo no la vería nuevamente, ya la vi, me reí, me entretuvo y listo, preferiría ver alguna nueva película antes de volver a ver esta, no porque sea mala, sino porque siento que una vez es más que suficiente, cumple con el objetivo de entretener. En términos generales, es una historia divertida que te hará pasar un buen rato con unos personajes bastante carismáticos con muchas ocurrencias, por lo que, si no la has visto, verla por primera vez puede ser agradable y entretenida.

Hasta aquí la publicación, repito nuevamente que no es la mejor película de comedia romántica, pero tampoco es la peor, está en un punto intermedio donde te sentirás satisfecho, pero no será una película memorable, así que, si no tienes nada mejor que ver, esta puede ser una excelente opción para pasar el rato. Al igual que tú, pienso que es una película normal como muchas del género, tiene sus momentos graciosos, te entretiene y ya, no es nada del otro mundo. Lo que me sorprende es que la cataloguen en muchas criticas profesionales como una de las mejores del año cuando siendo sinceros es más de lo mismo, pero bueno, muy buena tu recomendación 😌.
Eso fue algo que me sorprendió, la cantidad de personas que la consideran una película magistral, obviamente cada persona tiene sus gustos y se respeta, pero si me parece que hay muchas mejores opciones para mejores películas del año que esa, honestamente no considero que sea tampoco una película que sobrepase del estandar. ¡Gracias a ti por pasarte!
